Yes, providing you add knob or set up the VR (variable rate) to control the blinking rhythm. Otherwise it will just be turning on and off because CH3 is normally dip switch on this transmitter.
Very informative channel. Is it possible to bind a turnigy 3xs to my mini z? The mini z uses fhss as well as my transmitter. I’m having trouble getting it to bind.
Thanks. Unfortunately you won't be able to bind Turnigy 3XS to Mini-Z. FHSS only means frequency hopping spread spectrum, which is a method to swap frequency and avoid interference. What makes a radio bind or communicate to a receiver is protocol which in this case they are different.

No, you can't. The GT5 is AFHDS 2A only. Apart from modded GT3B/C you can use iT4S and set it to AFHDS mode. Then do the same, go into CH4 and choose reverse to get full steering.
I suggest taking a look at the mod again. It's just the soldering of 4 pins. No case modifications necessary if you mod like I did in the mod video on my channel. ST-Link programmer is usually just $7. GT3C is such a great radio!
Hello can you say if the CR4T Ultimate 2.4GHz 4-channel tramsmitter will work with ma020sports fhs?
Yes, it will. Choose AFHDS mode and reverse channel 4 and you can use it with the Mini-Z Sports.
I have Ikonnik 3 channel RX, it has a A1705 chip,and protocol is meant to work with flysky AFHDS. Will this work with the flysky gt3 with 8 channel hack?
By the way you described, yes, it will work with GT3 even without the hack.

Does anyone know how to configure the controller so that the LED light stay on 24/7?

How do I bind a mr03 with FHSS to a flysky its4? I just got mine in and I’m stumped. They have AFHDS, AFHDS2, AFHDS 2a 1-way and 2-way
FHSS has its own coding and won't work with standard FlySky protocol despite having the same chip. It only works with Kyosho KT432PT with its special firmware for Mini-Z.

Hi there, as you say the flysky it4s will work with mini-z(FHS), how about the flysky GT5 will it work on mini-z(FHS) too ! Because they are (it4s/gt5) using the same protocol (AFHDS 2A). thank you ^^
FHS = AFHDS, the old one.
iT4S has the ability to switch to the old AFHDS, that's why it works.
GT5 cannot, it's only AFHDS 2A so it doesn't work.
Hi Beaver, I'm using 3pks with irx4 multi module for mini-z, but I wonder the latency compare with gt3c.
3pks is good but too big, so I want to chage transmitter,
gt3c's latency is not good I heard, how about your opinion?
I'm actually running multiprotocol with Mini-Z as well. The latency is the same, it depends mostly on the protocol. What you will miss when using GT3C is the easy to navigate menu, tons of resolution, the dial to adjust settings is so hard to use. I'd say keep using the multiprotocol. If you want an upgrade iT4S is a much better choice but it won't work with the new FHSS RWD/AWD/FWD in case you buy a new car.

No, it's different chip and protocol altogether.
There's however a RF module to use ASF with any transmitter that output PPM. It looks like this. bit.ly/310mEMG

As far as I know it's still in the production. But it's not certain so don't hold your breath.
I really like flysky TX for my fixed wing and quadcopters. Is there any advantage driving with premium TX? I'm in the market for one.
It offers more adjustability over the stock one. The Mini-Z's stock TX only has throttle D/R and with a better radio you can adjust EPA, Expo, etc.

No. It's a different protocol and different chip altogether.

Idk if I'm missing something but I successfully flashed my GT3B and set everything up. Now the problem is when I try to bind the transmitter to my MA-020 miniz. It just doesn't bind.
Which MA-020 do you have? Is it FHS with blue antenna?

Does your GT3B still function properly, eg. binds with another receiver normally?
Does Mini-Z still bind to its original radio?
Updating firmware doesn't change anything to the protocol, we just want that channel 4.
@@BeaversHobby So I connected it by turning the miniz on and holding the bind button until it starts and stops blinking fast. Then I turned it off and tried binding again and it worked.

The fs-gr3e 3 Channel Receiver
Yes, obviously. But KT-19 doesn't have reverse channel so it's kind of useless except your servo and ESC have the same direction.

Flysky nb4 can bind Kyosho RWD ?
Not the RWD FHSS but you can use it with EVO series with NB4 receiver.

It will bind (because protocol is the same) however you can't use full steering because it needs reverse on channel 4.
If you don't have tool to flash you can find the iT4S. It comes as 4CH already.

No, it doesn't. However you can use multiprotocol module with a transmitter that has PPM output.
How to Mini-Z MR-02(ASF system 2.4GHz)
Unfortunately ASF is a different system and you'll need a RF board for it. Kyosho has stopped making it for years, DasMikro made some but it's also out of production so it's really hard to find. Once you get the board, connect it to PPM output of your radio. This is a bit difficult with GT3C but easy with Radiolink RC4GS, you'll just do it like what I did with the multiprotocol.
Think I'll skip this mod, too lazy. I would like to ask though, I've been having issues with the wheel button on my Tx where as I try to scroll one direction it'll do like a dozen in the opposite and become inconsistent, have you ever had this happen or know how to fix it? It's not rendering the Tx useless, but it's really annoying to deal with when trying to tune settings.
Yes, I had the same problem. Firmware mod somehow made it better with the directional change so it's less confusing but the accelerated wheels is still there. You can probably see in the video where I struggled to get the setting I want.
Honestly I don't really use much GT3C. Nowadays I use multiprotocol module hooked up to my Radiolink because it provides better stick resolution that is sharper and more precise control.
I might open it to have a look to see if it's a physical issue. I'm still getting back into RC and money is limited, so I've not looked at anything high end in regards to Tx's yet.
@@Overland_RC Basically it's the same radio with different board layout, screen and button placement.
@@BeaversHobby I have a quick update on this issue I was having. As I figured it's a mechanical issue, not software. When the spring in my wheel broke and had to open to repair it, I decided to take a look at the scroll wheel. I did notice before that if you push the wheel up the issue would subside enough to make changes. After opening it and looking at the wheel, I decided to shim the wheel by adding a couple washers to the little hex shaft on the wheel. I used a spring washer and regular washer of same size (from tamiya m4wd kit). It's stiffened up the wheel and is now working about 95% of the time, there is still a little skipping here and there, but with the wheel shimmed, it's immeasurably better than before, although on the down side, it made it a little harder to push the button on the wheel....but that is easy to live with as long as the wheel is precise.

Beaver, what's the difference between afhds vs fhs and fhss?
They are different protocol. Mini-Z's FHS = Flysky AFHDS, same chip, same frequency hopping algorithm. Mini-Z's FHSS is still unknown at this point, possibly it has its own frequency hopping algorithm.
The transmission rate is also different. FHSS seems to be faster according to some people, I personally don't see any difference.
ps. I don't know the technical side of how FHSS hops between frequency and Kyosho is not going to publish it so we'll have to wait for someone to hack it... hopefully.

Te new one with FHSS label and KT531P radio? Unfortunately, no. This hack won't work. However the multiprotocol will. The latest firmware finally supports Kyosho Mini-Z FHSS.

How do i make the lights stay steady on?
You'll need to bind it then restart the car.
Yeah i’ve gotten it all setup and been driving it around, i got all my trims dialed in, but no matter what i do i cannot get the lights to stay on, only comes on when it’s driving, or flashing when it’s driving
@@lanemurphy8395 May I ask which light are you referring to? If it's the red indicator light on the chassis then it's not normal and you can try and bind it with the original transmitter and see how it behaves. If it's the light kit for front and rear light then it will only come on when the car is running. It's controlled by channel 3 as VR (variable rates) so you'll need to set that on the transmitter.

Which RWD? If it's RWD EVO version then yes, you can install NB4 receiver on it. Otherwise if it's the RTR FHSS version then no.

Only with the FHS cars that have KT-19 transmitter.

@@faysalkhaled1745 Mini-Z has different versions with different boards and protocols. The FHS version is the Sports and Sports 2 versions which have blue antenna and use KT-19 transmitter.
The chassis with these boards are old MR-03 and MA-020.
I'm still preying for a possible hack to add Fhss support into the it4s or fly sky radio.... 432 is a hard find and kinda expensive for a surface life it4s....
All I know is when opening Kyosho's firmware with exescope, the structure is the same as fflysky's. The difference is under a file named 901.Kyosho's file is larger....
Someone with iT4S should try flashing Kyosho firmware to it but who's gonna make that sacrifice is the question.
@@BeaversHobby Actually I think the first thing to do (if someone is willing to do so), is to see if the kyosho's exe file will even recognize IT4S.
