Hirokazu Tanaka's classic NES Tetris soundtrack has been Revamped with improved quality, text, tracklist, and visual background: th-cam.com/video/pTYRNIwsB30/w-d-xo.html
Hey Wiiguy, the song at 5:14 I always thought it was so creepy, yet beautiful, like something out of a lonely alien world in a Metroid game. And guess what? Just found out it's the same composer! Thanks for sharing :p
Out of the 3 versions you uploaded, this one is my all time favorite. I love the 8 bit version of the Sugarplum Fairies. (why does that word look like if it was spelled wrong lol) for Theme A, Theme B is super catchy, and Theme C is so beautiful. This Theme C is my personal favorite but i also really love GB Type C. Overall though, this one is my favorite. Gotta love Tanaka's work.
Indeed, this and the Game Boy version have had a real stronghold on that market, and they have become so well known in the music of gaming. All thanks to Hirokazu Tanaka ;D
I always loved music 3 (Theme C) it was so mellow and tranquil lol it made it so you could relax a little while playing and not feel so uptight from the other music. I used to sometimes play the game with this music just to hear the music and not really care about how far I got. That golden age of video gaming was great.
Funny story (perhaps years too late for anyone to read) -- My mother's best friend, in the late 80's, was insanely good, like commonly starting on Level 12 or 13 whenever she'd play. However, she then saw that her ~6 month old kid would go over to the controller when the system was off and play around with it like he was playing it himself. So, she recorded herself playing on levels like ~15 or 16, and when there was someone visiting, she would play that VHS tape (of her gameplay) with her kid playing around on the controller, and they'd think they're literally in the room with a prodigy.
The Tetris app isn't allowed to use this music WHY??? The Russiany, Nutcrackery first theme is so iconic, but I've actually come to really appreciate the third one. It's got a really spacey, surreal yet soothing quality to it.
0:00 Song Identified, but I can't quite get the title. Still, I can't believe this game contains a Christmas song! Wow! I might have to show that to our Choir teacher!
@@soloshgg1002 So true! Whenever one of these tunes popped up in one of my classes for my last semester of college, I was like "Oh my goodness! This is in tetris!!!"
Which game is it again? Shadowgate? The new version or the classic NES one? If not Shadowgate, where else have you heard the awesome third theme? I must know!
JuantheLibrarian I haven't played that game in over 15 years. It could just sound very similar or could have been from The Uninvited as all three games were made by the same company.
It was called The New Tetris and it was for the Nintendo 64, you could make these giant squares, and gather enough lines to make wonders of the world and get new music. =D plus it was multi player and had battle modes. XD it was sooooo addictive. I saw Tetris pieces every time I closed my eyes.
I always use music 3, Even now when I play the new ones, I am always listening to celtic music or something along those lines. Progressive music, to the slightest degree is not suitable for me when I play this game. I dunno why.
I can name the FIRST music track... "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies"... O.o Why the hell do I know this? I'm a MAN of the world. XP Maybe you should put parenthesis and let people know the REAL song name. XP
I wouldn't say it. Easily, not as great as the Tengen version, but at least it had some great music. :) Also it's worth mentioning, that this version HAS a two-player co-op function, (I even tested it and works) but it was never used in the game's final version. Yes indeed, the information on the videos I hope is something of an incentive for people to discover the Composer and Developers work! ;D
he also did music for Mother 1 and 2.

it was composed by Hirokazu Tanaka, the composer behind Metroid and Mother/Earthbound.
I like that old school arcade tetris 1981 and nes tetris 1985 from video games Russia 🇷🇺 and soviet unoin

NES has 6 versions of Tetris (Nintendo Tetris, Tengen Tetres, BPS tetris, Chinese pirate tetris, Tetris 2, Tetris 2 Japan version)
Nice
0:00 NINNNTENDOOOOOOO!
The interesting thing is that Korobinki (Spelling on that?) is not listed in the NES version. That is the song that most people associate with Tetris.

This game's soundtrack sounds kinda like "Mother".
Hirokazu Tanaka did the music for both games. That's why.
Thanks for having the second sentence of your comment be what I would say in reply :P
+Vahan Nisanian Well actually Music 1 and Music 2 are from a classical composition. The rest is original, though.
+Thornbloom I know Music 1 is the Nutcracker Suite.
yeah Music 3 sounds like it could have been in Mother.
@@Thornbloom Music 2 is an original piece as far as I'm aware. Just written to sound like a Russian folk song.
Please add the soundtrack for the Game Boy version too :)

In Soviet Russia, Nintendo plays you (though I like Music 3 the most. Dunno why)

Am I the only one who thinks it's odd that the famously-Russian Tetris has the prelude to Carmen as one of its songs?
Music 3's my jam!

yes!! DL link!!! thank you!
I love how Theme 3 is also used in Shaowgate (made by the same company).

The original Shadowgate.
I wonder if it sounds different because I can't recall where in the original Shadowgate that track appears... could you tell me, please? Thanks!

I don't hear it
Also Shadowgate wasn't made by Nintendo.
0:00 dance of sugar plum fairy?
My first Tetris game. =D ....before I got addicted to the new tetris on the 64. XD

It's by Mother composer Hirokazu Tanaka.
hip tanaka to the rescue
5:18 i just about cried :)
Why are you making comments that I keep feeling the need to reply to?? But I feel you on the 5:18. This is a great song.

lol, i'm not sure why. I'm just an old gamer who recently found wiiguy a few months back.
Kinda the same for me. Only it's been over a year for me.
addicting game!
is this and the other 2 Tetris OSTs ready to come out? just curious.
That intro was based from tchaikovsky music?
The Game Boy version is way better, but this NES version of Tetris still has great music. I like music 3 (Theme C).
Dear Wiiguy309, can you also upload the music of the Game Boy version of Tetris? I've raised (and others maybe too) up with that version.
Add you request here: th-cam.com/video/yOIRIAynF58/w-d-xo.html Thank you.
I have the Gameboy Tetris music on my channel, so be sure to check it out.
