I played an arcade machine of this when I was a kid back in 2006/2007. It was fun. I remember liking the soundtrack, but wished I could have heard it better. There was this basketball arcade game right next to it that was very noisy. Now, I can hear it better on TH-cam. lol.
9:21 is actually unused in the NES version for some reason. It IS present in the ROM though, and could've easily been used for the same purpose it served in the arcade version.
after a little over 10 years of searching for a copy in person I found Tengen Tetris locally just 2 weeks ago finally. Surprised to see this right after. Twilight Zone...doo de doo do doo de doo do. Thanks Wiiguy
This is the first one I played. The game play for Nintendo's version is better. I really enjoyed the music in this one though. It felt like a happy extension to the Gauntlet soundtrack sometimes.
I like this version's music the most, and don't forget the 2 Player mode! Too bad I live in Europe, finding this game here is impossible. In Europe most people had a Sega Master System or a home Computer. But thank you soo much for uploading the Music for all three Versions!
Way back when I had a copy of this Tengen Tetris. I don't know what in the hell happened to this cartridge. I'm guessing my mom threw everything out. Years after, I read an article about how different companies came out with their own games without speaking to the companies that own the consoles. Numerous companies came out with unlicensed titles. THIS version of Tetris was an exact copy of the video game. Way better than the Nintendo version & I believe I read that if you had a Tengen version of Tetris, it was worth about 250 bucks. This was back in the early 90s so I can imagine what it's worth now. Damnit mom! 1st my porn videos, then my comic books & last my games! lmaooo
+Alexandre Vezeau I'm not sure about that to be honest. I just know that they tried to get rid of all the Tengen versions so they could put out the Nintendo version. The Tengen version was far superior...
RIP Brad Fuller 1953-2016
Troika is such a banger
Always played with Troika at the background... And today, when I play Tetris, I felt that something is missing without the song.
Better tracks then the Nintendo NES version imo.
I like the BPS version the best XP
tell that to Nintendo NES Music 3
The best tetris game ever.
YES! Please keep doing these! :)
Haha, have you seen how many soundtracks I done? This ain't ending anytime soon :3
Kalapurka Donate as in NSFE files? :P
***** Yup, I've seen your newest soundtracks in my subscribe box! :)
Troika 😍😍

Thanks for the upload! It's been hard to find a good quality rip of Tengen Tetris :D
Ооо классика...
я тоже доволен)))

wow that game is actually quite rare.
HOLY SHIT!!! YOUR TELLING ME THE SONGS KATYUSHA AND KALINKA WERE IN THIS GAME AND I NEVER NOTICED?!?
This was the unlicensed version of Tetris. Way better than the Nintendo version...
This game is definitely the best of them all.
And one of the most common game on bootlegs. :D
I love this versuon of (tengen) tertris. Best nes tetris game ever.

You're welcome! I knew I had to do a week of Tetris with the three main Tetris games on the NES/Famicom! ;D
@CarozQH
Appearently you never owned an famiclone bro
Did you know that? The You Win and Game Over song from the Atari(Tengen) version of Tetris is reused for Radica Tetris.

Sorry to hear that. But I guess the value of it has decresed because now it runs for about $60 for the cart.
Really interesting!!
What videos
Very pure.
Is that the official Nintendo seal of quality on that box?!
Gotta be fake since the Tengen version was unlicensed...
+RalphyDee But it ONCE had the license while in prototype stage.

I believe the official title for this version is "Tetris: The Soviet Mind Game", as opposed to Nintendo's version, which is simply called "Tetris".
Should really make an orchestral 'cover' of the ENTIRE Tetris OST.
Does this game actually does have a limit? It seems to be infinite as long as you can modify and cheat on the speed of the failing pieces.
Like in an orchestra theatre
Please disable the echo!!!!!
In the soviet union, you were mind controlled by tetris.
Tengen Tetris for me : Tetris 2 NES
Cool fact
Tengen tetris relase before the nintendo version.
Arcade.
0.75x like Very?
MOTHER RUSSIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In Mother Russia, um, Tetris.
it's funny how they caLL this a "Soviet Mindgame" like it's in the KGB arsenaL of psychologicaL interrogation tactics
В Советской России, (и, возможно, в Венгрии, а также...) блоки упасть на вас! ;)
I never played this version, I think I like the Nintendo's version music better. Theme C was awesome!
Then you don't know anything about the concept of this game. This game had interesting modes to tackle.
Am I the only one who likes the Nintendo version's music more than the Tengen version's music?
Yes the only one.
DaJoshy Nope you're not, I like the Nintendo version better myself. Theme C was my favorite
brillopad6901 you can thank Hip Tanaka for that one
It's WAY better. Tengen's is BORING and not even close.
Then you don't know anything about the concept of this game. This game had interesting modes to tackle.
God, this music sucks. Nintendo's version's is way better.
Then you don't know anything about the concept of this game. This game had interesting modes to tackle.
@@Yoyoyoyo989 And that has what to do with musical quality?
said no one ever. only magic jewelry musics are better than this
