We recently installed a ROUSH axle-back exhaust on one of our 2016 Mustang GTs. When purchasing a new exhaust one of the most important factors is hearing how it sounds. Ugh I love the sound. My roush ab is waiting to get installed... Cannot wait. The sound is so amazing that it sounds better then some cat backs.
This is THE best audio pickup of the Roush Axleback that i have heard. These and the FRRP Sport Cat are the sweetest to my ears, with the Roush being the best bang for the buck. Only thing holding me back is having to chop up my factory exhaust!
Thanks for the positive feedback! Cutting the stock exhaust is pretty straight forward, but it is quite disappointing that they didn't put a flange. Part of the fun is being able to change your exhaust more than once.

It sounds just like my truck. 2016 f150 with the 5.0. I put an old roush muffler I had from my previous truck and it sounds just like this

I really like the Roush axle backs. I bought a 2107 GT PP a month ago and I'm going to put an exhaust setup on it in the spring. I've listened to so many and I love the Roush the best. I also have a friend with a 2014 GT and he has the Roush's and his car sounds sick! I'm just trying to decide if I should pair it with and xpipe, hpipe or leave stock resonator. I think I want to get rid of resonator for sure though just for weight savings alone.
Greb, a resonator delete with an x-pipe or h-pipe would definitely wake the exhaust note up even more! If I come across a car with that setup I'll make a video. :)

Royal, that is correct. The only thing done with the exhaust is the ROUSH axle-back.

No problem, I appreciate you commenting! It really isn't that loud with the axle-back alone. I will have a full review of this exhaust coming this week, with awesome audio quality, so I will further touch on the overall sound of this setup.

No way thats JUST a roush axel exhaust. I have one and it doesn’t sound any where near that deep growl and rumble. You have an h pipe or anything?

Rick Hammel I love my GT but I don't knock on V6's, they're part of the Mustang's long successful history. But you're a dumbshit so i see no point in arguing with you.
I would love a GT.. the one and only reason I got an ecoboost was because the insurance premium on a GT would of been higher than the payments.. literally more than double what I'm paying for insurance on my EB.. if (or when) my premium goes down , I would trade in immediately. That being said, the EB with muffler delete and MMR CAI isn't the worst sounding thing in the world.. it's very tuner-ish but better than nothing.

its only 10" rear and 9" front, you dont have to do anything to get them to fit. Mustang will take up to 11" rear

Yes, the only exhaust modification is the ROUSH Axle-Back. It does have a ROUSH Phase 1 Supercharger as well.

most mufflers have Like a fiberglass layer this does not. and not it does not void warranty

nope it would only void your exhaust warranty which is obvious because you are getting rid of it. everything besides the exhaust is still covered unless you get it tuned after you install the exhaust.

Just an axle-back. Jaime V is correct, if you add an x pipe with a resonator delete it will be significantly louder.

Jeff Ashton hope you see this cause I’ve been spending days on TH-cam trying to find the right setup. I want a deep sound not to crazy to get me pulled over and I don’t want any drone on the highway. Something with a deeper sound when idle and just sounds nearer than the stock, I have a 2016 mustang gt. This this setup of just getting the roush axle back with the stock system would match my criteria? Also was the fit off at all I read some complaints about fit being off when you cut to the specs. ? Thanks

Nope, the factory resonators are still in place!

Jeff Ashton is there any other options,sounds like the Roush is still pretty loud, I have 15" mustang v6 if that helps.. and I wasn't planing on changing anything else ..stock just sounds weak I wanted something just a little louder ,thanks 4 your help
Benjamin Frank when driving normally and not accelerating hard, it really isn't that loud at all. If you have a v6 it won't be quite as loud either.

Benjamin Frank I have it on my 2016 GT and I was worried about it for the same reasons. It's worth it. It's not really loud until you get on the throttle harder. My neighbors actually love it. It is noisy at idle on the cold starts until the engine warms up, but it only lasts for about a minute, then it quiets right down to a low rumble.
