This is a review of AmericanMuscle's top 3 axle-back exhaust systems for 2015 + Mustang GT. Justin will take you through three systems which cover the spectrum from quiet to loud. Here are the three systems Justin chose based on personal experience and customer reviews:
    Quiet - Mild Sounding
    Flowmaster American Thunder Axle-Back Exhaust (384452) - muscle.am/2niPRyH
A very tame system for an axle-back, the American Thunder is the quietest of the three. If you want to make this set up a bit louder, delete the resonator or add some long tubes!
    Medium - Loud Sounding
Ford Racing by Borla Touring Axle-Back Exhaust (384399) - muscle.am/2lHOFIN
A premium sound and a premium build with a quiet interior experience!
Your Neighbors Will Be Angry Sounding
    Roush Axle-Back Exhaust (387039) - muscle.am/2mpDz9S
An AmericanMuscle.com customer favorite with 304-grade stainless steel without the price tag!

Nice choices for the "mild to wild" ranges. Each have their distinctive sound and I think all three may appeal to the masses. My opinion is nothing is great until the resonator is deleted and replaced with an X-pipe, then a muffler choice can be made!

Not only did I get my roush axle back kit from American muscle and they fit perfectly on my 2020 mustang gt. I will say that he is telling you the truth about how loud this system is, I had a custom xpipe installed along with my kit, it sounds great and is loud inside and out during acceleration, but it has pretty much zero drone going 80 miles an hour down the highway and the stock actually had more drone at higher speeds. If you are looking to get noticed, then you will definitely do so if you chose the roush axle back kit with an x or h pipe.

Any chance you guys(and gals) might be doing a review of the Active Exhaust version of the American Thunder kit on the Mustangs in the near future, OR have heard it in-person & have thoughts? Those kits use one-off mufflers that Flowmaster themselves told me are closest to the single-chamber deltas, so they're a bit different from the 44s on the regular kits. I have a 22' GT ordered, to arrive in around 8 weeks. I'm very curious what that kit sounds like(aside from Flowmaster's own videos), but it's freaking impossible to find any reviews on that kit!

AmericanMuscle.com no I did not dyno it. My gt is brand new with 2000mi on it. Right after I got the exhaust installed I noticed it wasn't torquey at slow speeds and low gears as much before the stock exhaust. It sounds amazing though but just wanted to see if anyone had similar effects with low end torque.

What do you guys think? Roush axleback or MBRP street catback exhaust?

Roush will certainly be louder....like A LOT louder. -Justin

How loud is the Borla Touring exhaust? Im from the Netherlands and our cops are allergic to loud exhausts so I'm looking for something a little louder than stock but not crazy loud. Would the Borla Touring be a good choice?

    • @americanmuscle
      @americanmuscle  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Out of Borla's line of exhausts, the Touring would definitely be your best bet. The Touring systems having a louder than stock tone when you're really getting on it. but when you're cruising on the highway or being light on the pedal it is not obnoxious at all. -Zach

Edwin Mena maybe clamps and gaskets. these are simply installation parts that might come with your exhaust. No tuning or additional parts are needed other than mounting hardware

I typically use whatever old school pomade I can get my hands on- Royal Crown, Nu Nile, Sweet Georgia Brown, etc. If all else fails, Murray's is tried and true but its thicker than axle grease. -Justin
