My only gripe with this kit is that it doesn't come with the badass mace. Also, 1/100 Hi-Resolution Barbatos hype~
+Adrian It is stupid they didn't include the mace. Perhaps it'll come with another 1/100 No Grade? That High Resolution Barbatos is looking like it'll be better, but I think an MG would just be so much better.

I haven't built gundam kits in a long time, and returning to building with 1/100 Barbatos is actually pleasing. The build is simple, yet looks very good without any paint required. As said, almost like an MG in disguise. Its unfortunate that this doesn't include the mace weapon.
1/100 will be releasing Gusion+Rebake, kinda excited for that kit since Gusion is huge. Hopefully MG will be out soon as well

The paint job really helps bring this to life. shame to not have the mace, but glad it comes with the smoothbore gun, which is a really nice weapon. For its price, it's really nice, being MUCH cheaper than master grades, more on par with Reborn 1/100 kits. I can forgive some of its faults for that. I am glad I got the 1/144 kit, but this would be a good display piece.
I think Bandai is trying to make the non-grade 1/100 scale IBO's more appealing for a younger market (resulting in more sales), so they lose the "unnecessary" complexities of the master grades. But so far I haven't come across any official statement on whether this decision will be something permanent, or specific for the IBO line. I hope not though. I like MG's... Great video, man. Cheers.

Just found your channel after considering buying this kit as my first gundam build. So glad I did, you got some great stuff, keep it up! I am curious how you did those weathering effects on the white pieces of armor. It definitely adds some character that the stock one lacks. How'd you get it to look like that? I'd like to know so I can get right on it when my kit arrives.

Is the inner frame made of brittle polystyrene like most HG, or tough ABS like MGs? You can check the type of plastic by reading the runners.

Just got this in the mail today. still have 5 other MGs to build before this one. Although after this review he might just skip to the front of the line. Barbatos does look pretty bad ass.

Anyone know if Bandai will make a weapons pack for the 1/100 later? Sucks that the 1/100 Barbatos doesn't come with the bad ass mace.....

I've seen both your Barbatos reviews so far and I must ask for your personal opinion. If you had $40 to spend, would you rather use it to buy the HG Barbatos AND the option parts set? Or this 1/100?
Short answer: 1/100
Long answer:
Depends on how much you constantly want to rearrange and display the Barbatos. Personally, I only care about the completed Barbatos and the 1/100 is just that.
Second question is how deep will you get into IBO? If you're after every MS then the HGs seem like a no brainer. Also if you're mostly a 1/144 scale collector then maybe it's best to stick to that.
1/100 is kind of for the IBO fan who just wants the main suits in a nice, simple display.
+TYPE V3 short and long answer are both on point. I'd love to have all the kits as so far they've been pretty neat and impressive but a lot of which are just recycled. I'm usually a HG collector but this time around, I may go for the more premium 1/100's. That and I don't have very much time to paint lol

I like the colors scheme you did on the 1/100 i did the same on the 1/144 i just want to know the gold you used for this kit it looks shinier than the one i used and it looks great also on the inner frame how you made it look shinny like that also what do you use to make the edge details on the kit i think it looks really good it gives it more detail i would like to try that with mine thank you in advance 👍

Lately I've been struggling painting the two leg parts that normally have gold decals on them, whould Gundam marker be much effective, or tamiya paint?
Is using the metallic gold sharpie a good idea for an alternate color for the yellow color of barbatos. The reason I ask this I I'm A: curious, and B: lazy as fuck to paint.

Maybe we can call this new build type the Advanced Grade, as it is more advanced than a High Grade, yet less complex than a true Master Grade.
Advanced grade is already a thing. It's basically a static high grade.

I use Final Cut, but that's only on mac. Adobe Premiere is the other option.

1/100. Unless you are a hg collector. But if you are a mg or 1/100 collector, go for the 1/100 non grade
