A very nice but also a very difficult game for a kid to play! Same as the lion king. The kid watches the movie then gets the game to have fun but instead go nuts in those crazy levels! LOL
I'm surprised this version is slower than the old Genesis TAS, since that one had a few longer levels, plus one entire level that isn't in this one. Does the load times here really add up that much?
I think the Megadrive version was much better in terms of saturation, sound sampling and stuff. Always seemed that the SNES versions were generally better, but I find this to be the exception.
There's explanations on the website : "The Claw!" "This skip involves getting as many sprites on screen as possible, as it for some reason kicks you out of the game. Normally this would be a pretty lengthy battle, but here it's over in less than 10 seconds. " "The Claw is skipped by launching two aliens up in the air, both hitting the claw, and then scroll the screen a little bit by walking right and spawn as many aliens as possible. We believe this works because of the amount of sprites on the screen at the same time. That's why we're walking right here, because we get to see the Claw and the stars that spawn out of the Claw when it's hit by the two aliens. But we can't walk too far right or Buzz is not going to be on screen. In the NTSC-J version of the game, this was fixed by simply limiting the amount of aliens you can launch at the same time.
@@applowe1313 naw bro even in terms of story it’s funny. Like come on so now people aren’t allowed to have some fun at work with the projects they work on? Is that frowned on now in 2025??? Lol

Yes, SNES loads music differently than genesis. We briefly talk about it in the commentary if you're interested
Oh, so it's pretty much all because of the slow ARAM taking forever to load the samples?
XBladenoJutsu yes. Another big example is in Mickey Mania. It's so bad that the developers put an animation of Mickey looking at his watch.
did I miss that part on @gamehut

In that case, maybe the SNES versions of Mickey Mania and Toy Story deserve restoration ROM hacks.
This TAS was done with Silicon Graphics computers

By bad game, I meant how infamously difficult it is.
