- Run is now only 18 seconds from my Sum of best (9:45) and it's getting very tough. This was good week long grind to get sub 10:05 and now there is only one goal left...
low 9:5x is where this stops at best for me. 9:4x requires way too perfect run close to sob pace that i don't see it happening without new findings.

Been thinking of adding this to my speedrun games. I owned it as a kid and can hit casual runs fairly quickly. How long did it take you to really understand the optimal attack sets, and then that ninja skip in Act 8, I've never seen that one yet!
I must learn this secret sauce...
Hey, Yeah that ninja skip wasn't added in runs until this year after route was made to be more consistent and early deaths weren't needed anymore. To really understand this speedrun and be consistent with it can take good time since every enemy pack has different patterns and global timer based jump attacks that you need to react and change tactics on the fly. If you just wanna do a decent speedrun, then mastering the knee attack and adding at least one strat to every screen is a good start. @@Baize86 Hell yeah! I do have decent timing with the hyper knee/uppercut. Had a casual 23:27 the other day.
I never understood why more speedrunners didn't use the super uppercut. The knee doesn't always give you the best positioning.
yeah, it's situational what to use. Knee does most damage but depending what health values enemies have it's better to use something else, either compo or uppercut. This speedrun doesn't always use the fastest strats possible but consistent ones instead so in many cases knee is not used even if it is bit faster move.
How do you get the knee so consistently? Turbo controller holding both buttons down?
Just tons of repetition. Knee is 4 frame window so its not super tight. Turbo isn't allowed in speedruns

7:58 in my experience, these two had the most stamina in the entire game…at least in regards to non-bosses.
Yeah. Those 2 and dynamite ropers room before have the highest HP among basic enemies
I would consider staying the hell out of their way for the rest of my life as a kid, I still have nightmares those 2 are commin for me & theres nothin I can do about it.

There is still faith in humankind. First time someone checks something before calling me a cheater instantly with this game when they have doubts
@@Baize86 even it was a TAS, I know that it isn't cheating. The run was so perfect for a while that it is really difficult to know. That is just how good it was.
