  • We are doing a few updates to our kitchen and we had to replace the old tile bar. We used a large piece of Oak and made custom hidden support brackets out of flat rolled steel bars. This was a fun and simple project that was a great addition to our kitchen.

I love that you repurposed your grandfathers wood, what a lovely way to honor and remember family 👨‍👩‍👦 it looks beautiful! I am hoping to do something similar in my kitchen.

So nice that your family were also there for this transformation. Such a special bench, that it has been recycled and repurposed from your grandfathers shop. I enjoy watching your videos and the music that is paired with them.

Mitch…that looks awesome! Good job with the brackets and notches. I’m sure that was time consuming. Glad you’re back making new content.

LOL aww the baby was like woah... the Bar looks amazing, I was looking to see how i can add a bar to my kitchen opening. This video helps tremendously! although my wall is a basic finished wall. I'm wondering if i should open it up or just add a top with brackets

Very helpful thanks. Working on a breakfast bar myself, though I'm a total newbie. My concern is the support for the bar. Where did you get those metal support bars again? Where would I look for those? You mentioned a big box store? thank you

It looks ok, but I would put something to hide that gap underneath a bit better.
