- As part of the Adventures in Rice channel, I converted the dumping ground area in my kitchen into a stylish breakfast bar area on the cheap during a home improvement DIY project. Follow my journey as I save money by making my own breakfast bar
I followed this kitchen surface cutting guide and highly recommend it:

I've never heard of one of those, but it sounds like a great idea!
Love this. So many helpful things picked up from it. You have such an easy feeling friendly way of explaining stuff. Thanks 😊
Thank you :D
This is great! Well made video, helpful info, and inspirational to know you did it for such a low cost. I found you while researching breakfast bars as I'm about to make my own using old oak boards. Well done and thanks! x
Glad it was helpful! I hope your's has turned out great!

A tip for cheap work tops is the IKea sale corner at one of there stores I picked up the same worktop as yours for £10 length about 6ft
I will be following your video to fit one in my fella's house so thanks for an easy to follow tutorial
Great idea!! Definitely check out the link for the other video about cutting the worktop, I found it really helpful - you'll have to post a link to a photo when it's done!
What size where your brackets please
Great video. What color was used for the wall?
"Pure Grey" Matt emulsion. They've changed the tin, but should be this one:

I use Adobe Photoshop Pro 2023 at the moment, but not the latest one with the generative fill :(
Nice job, well done! 👍 You've made my mind up to crack on with this 😃
Go for it!
with that much of money, the result is very good!!
Thank you
Great sense of humor ...echoier (along with the face you made) took me out 😂😂😂
😁
Epic nice work.. how does the bar stay secured to the supports?? Does it just sit on top? Feel like I missed this...
It just sits on top but is pretty tight, it's covered a bit at 16:20 and a 17:18 :)
@@adventuresinricethanks bro, I remember seeing it. I didnt take it in I think I was chilling to the music watching the vid lol
hah no problem, thanks for watching! :)
How much was the worktop pls ?
I actually picked it up for free on facebook marketplace, someone was renovating and throwing it out. You can usually find them on facebook etc for around £10 if not free
Brilliant vid, thanks for giving me some more motivation to do it myself. Only issue I have is a cupboard to my left but maybe I could just buy smaller screws for the left?
Thanks! Sure, or any of those screw systems that "grip" onto the wall are good if there's space behind
Great demo, thanks so much. I'm going to try this. I'm on a DIY buzz 😂
Good luck! :D
This is such a good video
Thanks! :)
FANTASTIC INTRO
Thanks!
Like what you did there 👍
Great video! I'm looking for ideas and this really helped! Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Rest in peace Wilkos 🙏
I've heard The Range are taking over the brand, so hopefully we'll get the same items at the same price in there :)
Great job!
Great video!! Thank you!
Thank you!
Excellent👏🏻 thankyou🇬🇧
No problem 👍
cant believe you done that for that cheap , nice project though
Hey, thanks for taking the time to watch.
I got pretty lucky with the worktop. I find when making things the most expensive parts is where they get you - the middle bits, like edging or finishing!
Oooh so you don’t need legs?
It depends on the width and length, luckily mine was quite shallow so the beams on the wall were fine. If it's a deep surface or very long, it might be worth putting a pole in the middle somewhere to help support it :)
Great job, I m going to give it a shot
Good luck! Feel free to use imgur.com or something to share the results in the comments!
Great job!
Thanks!
Very helpful. Thanks
You're welcome!
Amazing job man 👍
Thanks so much!
