How to Lower a Corian Breakfast Bar

- How we lowered our Corian breakfast bar ourselves!
We wanted to replace our dated countertops and lower the raised breakfast bar but the new counters couldn't be measured until the bar was lowered. After multiple carpenters were no-shows we decided to do it ourselves!
Disclaimer: we are not professionals, this is not a tutorial, we are just showing what we did in the hopes it can help other DIYers out there!

Thank you! I want to do that to make the walk thru space larger. We have a pantry and fridge behind and it is fine. But my son has a new, wider wheelchair and my husband now needs a walker, so I want the space. Mine is granite, but I think the concept is the same. Stools going on FB Marketplace to pay for some tools. Thanks for the inspiration
Hi. What happened between seeing just the studs and seeing a wall up that is being trimmed?
Do u have the video after finish? I saw there is a blog of your final view. I will do the same project. My countertop company suggested me to do the extension not only in front but also on the side. I saw you have extention during u had bar which beyond the wall but not on the island. Any reasons? Any suggestions? I am so confused now.

we are going to get our house ready soon and they have raised counter which I didn't have the choice to change. how much did it cost you? do you have a cost breakdown? I am planning to get mine cut out after we close on the house.

My bar comes from the wall. I want the whole thing removed and do an island instead. I hate the corner of the bar it is just awkward. I cannot find any videos on that.
we weren't able to do that without having to fix the hardwood floors, that's why we just took it down. I had considered making it an island too!

Unless you are not an entertainer in your own home, I simply can't find a rational reason outside of astetics to remove it. I just can't imagine valuing looks over functionality. Get some nice bar height stools, and update the top.
You should have covered your flooring
Personally, i preferred it the way it was.
