Lol I never realized how little I blinked in this video! Now that I think about it... I rarely lose in staring competitions. Try it. I dare you. HAHAHA
i cant stop staring at the way he tilts his head back and sticks out hit fat lips while he talks. this is common among some people. its weird. he's weird.
what a cool dude. i used to know a bunch of chill people who were on top of tech like this but are now too busy with work and stuff so it's tough to bother them. you seem knowledgeable and willing to get the rest of us slackers on point. thanks man.
Reason 10 is the ONLY tip that you SHOULD follow. A Note3 is almost a $1000 paid for and out the door. I don't care who it's branded to. Rooting is not the way to go. I noticed that the dude failed to mention that some ROMs, once rooted, CANNOT be unrooted, ever. Like my Note3. If I were to root it, there's no going back. My warranty would be voided. And, I'd probably be dropped by my carrier. The rooted device would be banned from their network at the very least. Otherwise, if you have a "spare" phone that you're willing to sacrifice and you want to see what you can do in God-mode, by all means, knock yourself out and have a little fun. But I wouldn't root the phone I depend on unless I knew exactly what I was doing and am aware of all the risks involved. Look before you leap in. Nothing is quite as eye-opening as noticing that there is no water in the pool you're diving into, when you're in mid-air. Food for thought. ...... You decide.
Great Video!! I really hate being asked the question why do you need to root... or what is root.. now I just link them to this video.. very nice job..!!!
I already tried like 10 times rooting my phone, i did manage a soft root. The root i did didn't trip my knox. i used Odin3. Im trying to root galaxy s5 SM-G900P
+Maria Infante oops didn't finish writing all of my sentence. i meant to say that that's the first root method i tried and it didn't work. I think I'll just take it to a geek store. :) thanks for replying back :D
This is how a video is suppose to be, every word he uses that a unfamiliar person would not know he describes in full detail! defiantly worth a like and subscribe!
DONT ROOT YOU CAN BE BRICKED (PHONE TURNS INTO A BRICK AND DOESNT WORK) PLEASE DONT DO IT . IF YOU WANT A CUSTOM ROM DOWNLOAD A FUCKING LAUNCHER DONT LISTEN TO THIS FOOL IT WASTES TIME AND MONEY!!!!!!!
Just rooting it won't wipe your S4. However it you want a Custom ROM you will have to wipe/factory data reset which will wipe your data such as your apps and such, but it will leave your pictures and other data such as things in folders in tact.
Great video :) One question though because I think I missed it, can you change/edit the popup notifications (the one's that appear on the bottom of your screen like "Could not refresh feed" or "Wifi connected") if you have rooted your phone?
You said titanium backup gets all important files such as contacts and high scores, but if you flash your phone (assuming that means wipe it clean) to a new Android OS, doesn't that mean the backup from titanium backup will be incomparable since that app backs up the os as well. So if you were to recover a back up on a different OS, it shouldn't work because it would attempt to reload the previous OS. Please help, I'm very confused.
Ok. Now you said you have a video showing us how to Root our android. But do you have one for say...Rooting For Dummies 101, or v 1.0 lol? THAT would be VERY helpful! Especially for those of us who know a few things tech wise, but who have never done anything such as rooting in general. Sounds EXTREMELY helpful! But will be no good, and of no use if we cannot utilize the ability you speak of here. If you'd be able to point in the right direction of such a video you have created, I personally, would be FOREVER GRATEFUL! Thanks!
+Muhd Arif Lol I finally decided not to root. :P I prefer have my phone not rooted but in good condition than having in rooted an MAYBE have issues in the future.
If you are interested in rooting your android phone follow these steps. 1. download SuperSu 2. open the app and follow instructions.3. If you have King Root installed but that seems to be not working, download Super- Sume pro run the app and it will remove King Root and install SuperSu.4. After installation completed download Root checker and Root check. Open both apps run it and verify that your phone has succefully "rooted" Now you can install WiFi tether router for free WiFi on your network. I would recommend unlimited data network with Metro PCS or any carries that offer onlimted data.
are you saying on number 1 you can make wifi into say 3g so i could use the internet anywhere outside etc without needing to be near a wifi router? I have an android samsung tab 2 10.1 is it worthwhile to root or should i wait a couple of years when my warrantee expires?
C'mon people. Whether he blinks or not is not the point of the video. You obviously have waaayy too much time on your hands. PhoneBuff, thank you. One question, my phone is currently on Froyo and i want to upgrade to ICS, but I guess my phone wasn't on the "list" of phones that got to be upgraded :( So if i was to root my phone, would i be able to upgrade to ICS? Thanks :D
I just got an Acer Iconia A 1830 tablet and I love the tablet but it has so much bloatware that I can't get off without rooting. However I tried some software on my comp but it said "drivers not available" and then some of the tablet but the software wanted weird permissions like for example to my camera.
How do you know when you have bloatware, and How do you get rid of bloatware? Is it anything like malware, and all that crap that overloads it's system, bogging and lagging it all down? And I am sick of those outlandish permissions! I'd like to see a fix for that to prevent those apps from dibbin' in our personal business! There is no damn excuse or need for them to have to have access to our camera's, personal contacts, etc. NO REASON AT ALL! Invasion of privacy much!
I have a question. I have LG Optimus L3 and it got only 150MB of system memory. I download a lot of games, so I move everything I install to the internal memory if possible. But even when moved, the apps still leave some files in the system memory, so now I have only 40MB of free space in it and for example if I'd want to download something bigger than 40MB, it would be impossible. Will rooting my LG and using Link2Sd or something similar allow me to move those files also?
All I wanna do is uninstall apps that came with the phone like the Amazon apps. I never used it and am not going to use them. I have an LG Stylo 2 phone. How can I uninstall these apps?
Hehe I remember those PC speakers. You're missing the bracket that lets them hang over the edge of your CRT :) I still have one in my parts box; I'll sell it to you cheap. Nice videos BTW
"Rooting" is a slang term for "logging in as the Root User" of a UNIX-based O.S. Android is based on Linux, Linux is based on Unix. All three have an administrator account called "Root". Root gives you 100% full access to every byte of data your O.S. has control of. It is extremely powerful and extremely dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. Standard users of the Unix- based O.S. do not have the same access so that they don't inadvertently screw things up. This is why you should never be logged in as a rooted user unless you know exactly what you are doing and how to fix it if you screw it up.
I just had my Kindle Fire (1st Gen) turned into a full-fledged Android tablet, and I love it. It was done by a software company for $19.99 that I found on CNet. I was bored by the limitations of the Fire, and this was like getting a new tablet.
question, i am running android 4.1.2 on my razr maxx hd. i want to root it b/c i want to customize it the way I want. but my question is, how/what is rooting and when i root it, does it go to a specific version like ICS or JB? I want it to still runn JB but want it to look totally different than what it looks like. any help is appreciated.
Does your phone have to be unlocked in order to root it? I have a Galaxy S2 which i want to root, how can this be done and what is the latest way to do it?
thanks for the video i was unsure about rooting my phone but not anymore...but it would be nice if you had a video on how to root .. because i have a GALAXY S3 from verizon running 4.1.2
yes, u better make backup of your own stock version before installing any roms but for popular phones u`ll be able to find those stock versions. backup is the best way to go back to stock version, do it
Do you recommend any Video or App so i can root my android phone?? I have a Sony Xperia Tipo (ST21i) I wanted to root my phone a year ago and i didn't find anything that helps root my phone! :)
thanx for the video , u made it easy to understand , but i ave a question , i ave a galaxy s4 i733 for att , how can i unlock it , i tried almost all the ways described on youtube , Android version is 4.2.2 and its kernel version
Can you please help me? I have a Droid Razr Maxx HD and I was upset that it no longer has the external SD card with the ability to transfer apps to the external SD card. Recently I purchased a Meenova External SD card Rreader that allows you to plug it in to the micro usb port/charging port and give me access to my esternal SD card that I thought Id be able to use with my Raxr Maxx HD. My Question is.. Will Rooting my phone Allow me access so that I can finally transfer apps to my SD card? I tried installing other apps to my phone that supposedly let you move apps to external SD card (App2Sd ,Nexxus media importer,Otg Disk, Total commander..etc) NONE of these will allow me to transfer apps to SD card. I *can* use my External card only to put videos, music, user files with no problem.. The issue is moving and running apps to the external. Will Rooting help me gain access to it so I can ..?? Can I root With MotoRoot1? SuperSU, systemcheck?
How likely is rooting to brick ur phone?? I've jailbrokan ios but this is my first DROID and I'm a bit nervous about it as rooting gives u full control over ur phone and a jb only let's u do so much like install third party apps is there more chance of something going wrong and messing up ur phone ??
I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to. I have a Samsung Galaxy Proclaim via Straight Talk Wireless. The phone IS rooted. I currently have Android 2.3, but I want to upgrade it to 4.0 or 4.1 ... Is that possible, and how tough is it going to be to do?
I have a question does this effect a warranty because my dad added a 2yr extended warranty which i cant void so would it void cause i really want to root
some ask, is rooting worth it. if you want a feature that requires root, then root it. the biggest draw back is the chance of bricking the phone. I almost bricked mine. also rooted phones gives you all access to delete anything you want. I damaged my last phone deleting something needed to make phone calls. couldn't reset phone for some reason too. went in the garbage. I root my new phone but don't erase anything am not sure of now.
Early update and removal of bloat can be done just by getting the ROM for the next version as soon as it comes along. I'm in the UK and my Galaxy S3 has not network bloatware and I'm running 4.2.2. Moving to 2.3 vanilla from the HTC developer website on my desire got rid of bloat as well - worth pointing out since my S3 isn't network locked.
I have the ZTE n861 with public mobile do you know how I can root it I have been looking everywhere and can't find info that helps if you have any info that would be great thanks
what is the best, most updated way to root the galaxy s3? Im thinking about doing it and this is my first time. I would also like a link in what to do and what to get once i have rooted my phone. thanks!
Hey guys, I really need your help! I'm trying to install Cyanogenmod 11 on my S2X. Problem is, my S2X runs Android 4.0.3 and does not have the newest radio needed to install Cyanogenmod 11. I am not able to update my device to Android 4.1.3 so I was able to find a zip file of the Jelly Bean radio that is able to meet Cyanogenmod's standards. Can I put a 4.1.3 radio on my phone running 4.0.3? Would it work? If not, can you explain any other methods to get around this?
How do I backup my Nexus 4 since there's no sd card? I want to backup everything like settings, apps, app data, sms, etc. since I want to flash a new rom. What can I do?
you can use "superoneclick"(just download it) connect your device to pc , now open superoneclick , select root on the top left corner , now it will start rooting , it will take some time ....hope this helps.....
I have a Hero H7300 2.3.4. It is a Chinese copy of the HTC HD7. It works well until you download a few apps or the phone's internal memory fills up. At that time the phone acts as if a ghost has taken over operation of your phone and he doesn't know what he wants to do. All kinds of things start to happen but none of what you want. Is this phone safely root-able?
Tell me please, I have a samsung galaxy s5 when it Rutuja that you 'll be able to play games such as the one you are paying and to take them off only with a google ?
Root is Linux kernel feature (and pretty much in every unix-like system), it's user account that have full access to system and can do everything and can not be limited. So as you may guess if used insecurely it might do bad things.
he doesnt fcking blink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or take a breath.
Sherk he blinked at 5:02
Tashawn Griffith no he blinked at 4:59 :D

i have a kyocera hydro icon . tha front and back cam an flash light stopped werkin , will rooting this fone fix tha problem ?
Will root wipe your device, or do you have to manually wipe it? I've seen many tutorials on how to root, and none of them say to wipe your device.
Depends on device.
Like the Galaxy S4?
Just rooting it won't wipe your S4. However it you want a Custom ROM you will have to wipe/factory data reset which will wipe your data such as your apps and such, but it will leave your pictures and other data such as things in folders in tact.
Thanks, I'm just going to root. :)
What about S2?
thank god!!finally a professional video!!! youtube is full of crap sometimes!good video mate!
Root android or Root beer better? I'm confused
Put your android phone into a glass of cold root beer...problem solved. Taste better too!
LOL
Great video :) One question though because I think I missed it, can you change/edit the popup notifications (the one's that appear on the bottom of your screen like "Could not refresh feed" or "Wifi connected") if you have rooted your phone?
50℅ of comment about his nostrils
48℅ of comment about he not blinking
2℅ some other fucking things
This was very insightful. I always wondered what itmeant to root.
HE NEVER BLINKS
He blinks using his Nostrils

If android isn't limited and open source, why the reason to Root/jailbreak the phone?
brilliant
Thanks for the video. I want to root my HTC Thunderbolt and Droid X. What do you recommend and how should I do this?
Nice video and all. But I don't think he blinked at all throughout this video o.o

+Muhd Arif Lol I finally decided not to root. :P I prefer have my phone not rooted but in good condition than having in rooted an MAYBE have issues in the future.

JRRAL yup lmao
are you saying on number 1 you can make wifi into say 3g so i could use the internet anywhere outside etc without needing to be near a wifi router? I have an android samsung tab 2 10.1 is it worthwhile to root or should i wait a couple of years when my warrantee expires?

How to get USB Wifi Adapter (works on MAC/PC) to work on Android?
Please provide steps if this is not a hard question.
C'mon people. Whether he blinks or not is not the point of the video. You obviously have waaayy too much time on your hands. PhoneBuff, thank you. I'm excited about rooting my phone & I appreciate your input. For those who don't want to root, then don't. Those who are not sure about rooting or how to root YOUR phone, then do some investigative work and Google it, which is probably how you found this video. Good luck to those who are planning to root.
Great video, very informative and concise
That beat in the beginning is awesome! Who did it?
One question, my phone is currently on Froyo and i want to upgrade to ICS, but I guess my phone wasn't on the "list" of phones that got to be upgraded :( So if i was to root my phone, would i be able to upgrade to ICS? Thanks :D
Does rooting a phone originally unsupportive of wifi tethering supportive of it after the root? Just curious.

Agreed. One of the best explanation for dummies such as myself. Thanks for the vid!
Can rooting make a phone that is originally unsupportive of wifi tethering be supportive after the root? Just curious

If I root the my HTC EVO for the tethering, can I get rid of my AT&T internet plan? And just connect my phone to my computer to get on the internet?
A list video that actually puts the list in the description? Fucking finally, faith in humanity restored.
All I wanna do is uninstall apps that came with the phone like the Amazon apps. I never used it and am not going to use them. I have an LG Stylo 2 phone. How can I uninstall these apps?
Is there any safe way to root your galaxy s3? I've been hearing about people getting stuck in brick/recovery mode.

I know you should always make backups, you never know if anything will go wrong, but will download mode erase the device?
he actually blinks at 4:06 ... I wasn't even paying attention to him blinking and just when I read your message I saw him blink :-P

Root is Linux kernel feature (and pretty much in every unix-like system), it's user account that have full access to system and can do everything and can not be limited. So as you may guess if used insecurely it might do bad things.
very informative... thanks

I'm almost convinced! I have a galaxy note 2 and I want to root it, but I don't want to void my warranty, but I think I will pass
So your saying rooting is like making a system restore like windows and haveing more than 1 user like windows?
