Don't forget, everyone including Mario has Mario's entire moveset, like in Oddysey! And for those of you who say that they don't have the Dive, you can actually dive with the cat suit.
I like 3d world but the dive with the cat suit is definitely not the same as in oddysey. Also, there's no double or triple jump
Super Mario 3D World is a game that I will happily defend. Whenever people complain about it, all I hear is people criticizing the game for what it isn’t rather than what it is. They claim it’s not a “real 3D Mario,” even though what determines a “real” 3D Mario is completely subjective. Some might even argue that 3D World is the only real 3D Mario because it stays the closest to Mario’s roots. But there really isn’t any “real” or “not real.” There are just different styles of gameplay, and neither one is objectively better than the other. Some may prefer a more leisurely-paced, exploration-heavy game, while others may prefer a snappier-paced, platforming-heavy game. I get that 3D World wasn’t a game that really pushed the series forward like 64 or Galaxy did and how Odyssey will, but it still did a great job of having as much creativity as possible while working within the perimeters of what had been established in the series. Do I think 3D World is quite as amazing as 64, Galaxy, or Odyssey? No. But for what it was, it was still a great platformer filled with creativity and variety.

From my perspective, this is how I think Mario 3D world is mind-blowing.
Everyone has Mario's entire moveset! And for those of you saying that they doesn't have the Dive, well, they do have the dive with the cat suit.
While I admit that I am disappointed that I no longer get one 1UP's from the top of the flagpole, it is a nice touch since that 1UP's aren't as easy to get any more, making you actually have to watch out for enemies and such.
The final level in the game is called Boss Rush, a level where you fight every single boss in the game... Awesome!
While the Wii Remote isn't the best controller to use, I'm just glad that it's a controller option at all!
The music and sounds are incredible whenever you plug your headphones into the GamePad!
This is one of the very few games on the Wii U that takes advantage of the GamePad, and I absolutely love that!
When you start the game, and beat the castle boss, world's 1 through Castle, which is 8 worlds, are shown on the mini map. And here's the part I thought was special after you beat that there are four more worlds that you unlock, World Bowser, Mushroom, Fire Flower, and Star!
Super Mario 3D World is one of the very few games that Nintendo sells that is not $60. LOOKING AT YOU, NINTENDO SWITCH!!!!!!!!
The controls are so simple to learn that when I showed my cousins this game, and they played it, they learned all the controls and we're great at this game in less than an hour, and they had never played a Mario game before! Also, they weren't Gamers and did not have a lot of experience with games.
Rosalina's Spin Attack is exactly like Mario Spin Attack in Super Mario Galaxy, but nerfed, which is okay, because it's still helps to the game play a lot, since you could sort of double jump, and kill enemies by pressing the Dash button without the catsuit.
When you hear every single character shout the name of the game at the beginning, you already know that the money that you paid for this game are going to be worth it.
You don't need to use Motion Controls for anything in this game, which is amazing because there's not a disadvantage to using the Wii U Pro Controller.
Honestly, the only reason that I think Nintendo hasn't added a deluxe poor of this to the switch, is because that they can't think of anything else to add to the game, because they already have everything inside it, and nothing needs to change.

The music is great, the graphics are pretty good,there's tons of content, a good amount of difficulty, introduced some cool power ups like the double cherry and the cat suit. This game has a lot of stuff that is unique to this game alone. So I'd say that yes, it is overlooked.
I've played Many Marios and 3D World is simply great, it is one of the best family games available imo.

Yeah this game´s not galaxy/sunshine/64, but still a great game overall. If Nintendo released a sequel on the Switch with more interesting areas/ideas and made it a little more difficult I would be so happy. It doesn't really need a sequel. 3D World already has interesting enough areas/ideas. Nintendo should just stick to making 3rd person 3D Mario games on the Switch like Odyssey.

Hey nathaniel bandy did you no if you take a koopa shell in mario 3d world and run the press zr or zl ( Pro, gamepad) sorry or b on the (wii remote) mario and his pals can go inside the shell and spin away you can kind of move and depending what character you are the colours change mario = red luigi = green (stays the same colour as the original koopa shell) toad =dark blue peach =pink rosilina (sorry if spelt wrong) = light blue

I love 3D World. It took the great foundation of 3D Land and successfully put it in HD on Wii U. Easily my favorite Mario adventure on the console.
What's more, you get five distinct player characters who can even be used in single-player. Plus, the variety of power-ups is fantastic.
Call me crazy, but the straightforward nature of Super Mario 3D World is a dream come true for me; I always wanted a 3D Mario on a home console that plays more like a 2D game.
No, it's not open-world like 64, Sunshine, or Odyssey, but 3D World is brilliant in my eyes!

In all the Odyssey reactions I watched everybody said "The koopalings are finally gone" when the Broodals were shown, but why are you so surprised because they were never in 3d Mario to begin with!
