Alex Lewis, I think they are real Mario games. Yes there bad, and they weren't developed by Nintendo, but Mario's Time Machine is on NES and SNES, and Nintendo allowed Phillips to make Hotel Mario. Don't get me wrong, I still see where you're coming from, but this is just my opinion

3:20 "...60 frames per second" actually, the game is locked to 30fps on both the original and the new 3ds.
Super late reply, but the 30fps really ain't noticeable unlike in other games, it almost feels like 60fps
@@stye_ True, although running it on an emulator with a 60fps mod really makes it hard to go back haha
5 years later comment. Recently played the game and man that 30 fps its quite noticeable for me but I think with 3D it renders at 60 fps due to how 3D displays work, too bad I have a 2DS.

I love Mario 3D Land because I think it managed to remake the spirit of the first Super Mario Bros. game. Secrets, hidden blocks, levels re-used but modified a bit, and various environments that invite players to explore every corner and that's great. Also good ost, references to older games mixed to new Gameplay and a game that is actually fun to complete to 100%. I mean kid me didn't enjoy too complicated games, like all kids do. And yet it's one of the first and only games that I completed to 100%. It was all the way back in 2011. Ah the memories.
This is a great new series! I would definitely like to see more Mario related Mind Blowing series in the future!

I always loved this game, it's a nice simple fun game that you can take on the go and I have some real nostalgia for it like racing it with my friend or staying up til 4 in the morning on Christmas playing it

I'm mind blown by the 8th special worlds theme. It's the best song I've ever heard... until I find another catchy song from a video game.
Don't forget the Donkey Kong reference in the final Bowser level. Him throwing the barrels at you as you run towards him is a really nice detail/throwback to the first Mario game :)

As a 3D platformer on a handheld, SM3DL is a great title. It's just not really the ideal 3D Mario.

Exactly, I love this game and enjoyed playing it with all my friends. My 3ds came preinstalled and since it broke I'm no longer able to play it. So I'll have to pick it up sometime.
I love going to the second level and long jumping from the halfway point all the way to the base of the flag, bouncing of one of the biddy buddies, and grabbing the bottom of the flagpole

I remember I got this game for Christmas and I absolutely loved it and it’s still one of my favorite 3DS games to this day
I like this game so much more than 3D World on the Wii u. This game was a breath of fresh air when it came out, while the Wii u game just copied the art style and added little new to the gameplay. Something about the design of most of the levels in 3d world felt way more bland to me, compared to this game. Also, the 3d in the titel doesn't make any sence, especially when the isometric leveldesign just feels like it needs a 3d feature to make jumps correctly. I died so many times from misjudging my jumps in 3d world. I don't understand how most people can say that world was beter than land. I guess people only look at how fun the multiplayer was instead of looking at the games flaws.

this game is very nostalgic for me. i used to play the game at my dads, after a while i thought it was boring, but then i lost it along with another 3DS game and I've missed them ever since.

I'm also mind blown about the fact that after you make it past all the special worlds the game encourages you to end your experience with one more fight against Bowser in the normal world 8 so that you can leave satisfied with your experience rather than relieved that you don't have to do those special levels again
