    This is what I keep saying about the Gladiator, two doors and less wheel base would make it so much better!
    I loved my two door Comanche, perfect sized truck.

    • @TheVikingSailor
      @TheVikingSailor 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly 2 door Jeeps just don't sell. You are in a very small minority of people that want a 2dr Jeep or truck. I would love an extended cab Gladiator so I have somewhere to put my dogs or storage, but I am in the minority. I think they could have made the Gladiator shorter if they wanted to, but they were going for an actual towing number and to get that it has to be designed that way.

      I put the $51,240 USD he specced out into my conversion app and it spit out $67,385 CAD. I tried google currency converter to see if I would get a more up to date rate and got $72,773 CAD. It’s quite the pricey little Jeep, but I’m surprised we seem to actually be getting a bit of a deal up north. 🤷‍♂️

    When I decided to buy a JK in 2017, I bought a 2 door soft top and have not regretted the decision. Background: At 70+ I was driving off road before I was old enough to drive. There’s not much I haven’t driven in the dirt, but when I bought a K5 I quickly learned to appreciate a short wheelbase. After the K5 I used standard cab, short bed pickups, until I bought the JK. I do understand the need a large number of people have for multi-use 4 door vehicles, but if you are just looking for comfort - get a Cadillac.

  • @GIGABACHI

    This is what I think about when I hear the word Jeep. A 2 door Wrangler.
    Not the 4 door school bus or massive Gladiator.

  • @ElevationEveryWeekend
    @ElevationEveryWeekend 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    As someone who owned three two door wranglers in a row (a TJ and two JKs), I can’t get over how the more severe windshield rake makes the two door look odd on the JL. Not as much an issue in the four door or the Gladiator.

    That looked like fun! Jeeps have so much appeal for the fun factor, but the prices now, damn. I know you can't risk too much test driving a new Jeep, but I could drive most of that in a Sportage (except maybe the hill climb). When I have crazier places to be, I hop on my ATV because why risk damaging a truck or Jeep? But I get it, that looked like a good joy ride.

Even with beefed-up steering components from Steer-smarts doesn't fix it. I added the HD steering bracket, HD track bar, HD drag link with Griffin attenuator and the HD Tie Rod. I became victim to the 2012 JK Computer malfunction debacle. I paid $43,300 U.S. out the door for my MW3 2 door fully loaded. It was my LOVE for LIFE! It was to be my LAST until the day I died.
    Two weeks after my extended warranty, Electrical anomalies started happening causing my stress level to go through the roof. 2018, I sold it back to the dealer. I lost over $28,000 on a beautiful JK having only 28,000 miles on it.
    Point is, Jeep discontinued the brainchild of my jeep, the computer. No longer produced. No factory certified. Only rebuilt that might of taken 6 months to obtain. $4000. No warranty. As a lone wolf explorer, the techs warned me it could suddenly leave me stranded. Dead, as in dead. No power, nothing.
    I divorced myself from the brand. I’m still so F--king saddened by it all. Jeep let me down.
    (Whats say’n in 5 to 6 years time), Jeep stops making certified computers again “Program Control Modules.” Leaving the customer with only a rebuilt one some 11 year old soldiered together then declaring it good enough to ship to the United States to be installed in my $65,000 JL 2 door. I am wondering as a concerned consumer, if all future vehicles well be throw away products, just as so many in our lives today.
    There are some automotive journalist whom see this coming!

      I dont think we'll see anything more capable for less, no matter who else brings offerings to the table. Wrangler starts at well under $30k for a Sport 4x4. ~$45k for this (USD) seems about right considering the additions. Bronco will likely be very similar, if not a touch more expensive for a base model IMO (we'll see where it tops out, and if a Raptor variant will follow).

    If you buy a Tacoma TRD off road you sacrifice a small amount of off road capability but increase practicality by huge amounts. Even the 4Runner is a way better choice and then there is reliability...Toyota seems to win that battle year after year. The storage in the JEEP is nearly non existent.

    • @RagingBad

    Hi There ! Ed Here, São Paulo, 🇧🇷! I Was Looking Around to Find Out What Di “JK” and “JL” Stand For on The JEEP 4th GEN, and Came Up With: JK = JEEP KING and JL = “NONE”, “NADA” ! So, That’s The First Question. The Other Question Is: How Can an “Eletronic System” Disconnect “MECHANICALLY” The Sway Bar ? Would Be Nice To See What Is Going On At The Sway Bar When The Swith/Button is Pressed ! Thank You Much ! Best Regards ! 👍🏻🦠STAY HOME🦠

      Danny Cooke only if you insist on having front&rear locker, with sway bar disconnects, plus throw in the tires and wheels. If you were to buy a Wrangler S then add all those enhancements either yourself you would spend even more, have no warranty, basic interior trim and materials, with a small radio touch screen. If you want to play you have to pay!
