Baseball still reigns supreme as the most egalitarian sport. Little guys like Altuve and Victorino and Pedroia can excel. Fat guys like Kirk and Vogelbach can carve out roles. Seems like the Yankees are running on the field and getting all huff and puff way more than the blue jays so it confuses me when u day it’s the blue jays always running on the field. Maybe that’s just your perception because the blue jays and yanks get into it sometimes but from my understanding watching tigers games and highlight videos, it seems like the yanks are some of the biggest instigators of those situations around the league. While I can't say that this is over nothing, there has been numerous instances where Baker has been disrespectful to The Jays, whether he's going out of his way to say stuff to them, staring down into the dugout, pimping strikeouts, or one instance where he struck Tapia out, turned to the O's bench, and made the jerk off motion down by his crotch.
    The wide shot of this double play being turned you can see that Baker walks deliberately toward the first base line and then follows Teoscar up to first base to chirp at him. What's funny about Baker going "keep talking" is that he's the one doing all the chirping all season.
    The only possible reason for this is that he is disgruntled the he was picked up off waivers, which is petty AF.

      Nooooo, that is not the only possible reason lol. It's certainly very possible, plausible, or even likely, but in this day and age with the practically innumerable ways to communicate this could very well be Hernandez talking shit behind Baker's back in a group chat, on social media, etc. that has prompted Baker to act like he has been. Baker made it pretty clear that there is a beef with him and Te specifically and the Jays' manager's words seems to confirm that the rest of the team isn't involved. I kind of wonder if they had a slight beef just before Baker left and then Te talked shit behind Baker's back to his Jays teammates, and maybe one of the Jays that it was said to is a friend of Baker's and told Baker about it. That seems just as plausible as what you've outlined.

    • @panner11
      @panner11 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      The part that gets me is that Baker later admits that they weren't talking and nothing was being said in the game. So if he's gesturing to them to keep talking, then that's just out of nowhere and it's clear he's trying to start something out of nothing.

    • @85geoffm
      @85geoffm ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@panner11 no, he said he was gesturing to Te because Te had beef with him outside of the game. He said the team wasn't talking during the game and he has no issue with anyone on the team except Te, which suggests Te was talking off the field. It's just weird how biased against the Jays Jimmy seems to be. I watched this game and all of the post game interviews except for Hyde. Baker was the obvious instigator and even seemed surprised when a Os reporter asked him a question that framed Teo as the instigator before jumping on board with it to some degree, but then, not that much. He all but admits he started it. Jomboy has somehow characterized this the other way around.
    Didn't show Baker walking over to first to say something to Teo, didn't mention Baker was DFA'd by the Jays after throwing one inning for them last year(which is what Schneider was politely not mentioning). Baker doing the jerk off movement after striking out Tapia. And running out of the dugout every two weeks... what?
    It didn't even occur to me that this game might qualify for a Breakdown video until Schneider got tossed, and that's not even included.
    Teo and Vladdy were clearly allowing themselves to be held back, by an Oriole no less, and then stayed back and decided to not aggressively escalate, which he mocks, then claims the team is full of hot heads who clear the benches every chance they get.
    I'm curious if fans of other teams (except perhaps the Yankees) feel like Breakdowns about their team so often miss so much context.
