- In this video I installed a mod that adds shields into the game. These shields allow me to dash into enemies to deal damage, not only that, some even come with special abilities. This mod also adds in new armor sets and npcs so the question is, will I be able to reach all the way to the final boss Moon Lord using shields only? Stay tuned to find out!

Damn, whoever made this mod really didn't think of the implications of infinite upward dashes (infinite flight in pre-hardmode) or getting multiple hits on enemies with one dash.
Although, just like any mod, its difficult to think of or test everything. Maybe removing the upward dash and messing with immunity frames could help?
that and those night's edge blades, the insane dps of the debuffs... But mods are rarely perfectly balanced
@@xdkillfor34akathetroll30 Honestly, the biggest problem is the lack of immunity frames. Both the melee shield dash and the projectiles had no immunity frames as far as I could tell, meaning that every game tick with overlapping hitboxes meant an enemy was taking damage.
The debuffs were also overtuned, but the lack of immunity frames bordered on egregious
@@chicken_person i think the debuffs were pretty balanced, without the lack of the immunity frames the damage is pretty low compared to other weapons.

I'm pretty sure the reason upward dashes are so op is because rather than knocking you back when dashing the mod doesn't calculate vertical knockback so you just stay inside the boss rather than being thrown out of it which causes it to continuously hit the boss until you fall out of its hitbox
Partially, yeah. But the main reason why is that the mod creator forgot that immunity frames are an essential part of gameplay

@@zerta0075 it seems fun but I’m on console so I can’t, but it looks fun from what I’ve seen, it goes for you and enemies, everything just becomes crazier on damage

Nope, you can buy crimson seeds from the dryad in a graveyard post-WoF. Plant them on some dirt, then plant some acorns.

If you’re wondering with the wall of flesh wasn’t burning, it’s because it is immune to the fire and hellfire debuff
honestly I thought they were all immune lol but the wof makes sense how can you be in the underworld Be the main boss of it and not be immune?

22:10 no the invincibility does work its like the hallow armor bonus it gives u hit of invincibility so if ur inside them taking constant damage it wont work that well its supposed to be a safty net thing where if u get hit once u wont take damage for the first hit of invincibility

i love these vids, i almost wish you could do these mods with a calamity playthrough though for a longer video. that would be awesome but a lot more work for a mod lol
If you liked this, you should try the fist subclass from the weaponout mod. Currently it's 1.3 but it's getting ported 1.4

the dash that does tons of damage is a glitch when you get in there hitbox ive done a complete playthrough with this mod and i abused this glitch trust it helped soo much

The hallowed shield was working you are getting immune to the thing that hit you first and then that attack won’t hurt you for a bit

Maybe on some of the shields they can add a 5% chance to reflect the damage the player takes but has a maximum of 50 damage

I think the bug is balanced since you also take a few hits yourself

Well you gain the ability to dash in Expert mode just after the Eye Of Cthulhu, typically the first boss people fight. So I wouldn't say it completely ruins pre hardmode

Would signature equipment just... glitch out with the Shields ? You can't really have multiple of you dashing at the same time, so the additional projectiles thing is making me doubt the compatibility x)
