about the spore thing, there was something MUCH easier to set up and MUCH more lethal than that. in the older version, calamity had the shroomerang from crabulon instead of being called the infected clawmerang. if you spammed stealth strikes with it, it just melted everything. the spores homed in, passed through blocks, pierced infinitely, AND ignored pierce s. in fact, when you get ichor flasks in hardmode, it was viable against cryogen. it got nerfed very heavily, but it killed bosses within seconds.

I don't remember anything in calamity teleporting you in another desert dimension, like at all. Maybe it's the infernum thing, but it seems odd to lock out a whole boss fight and area behind basically a difficulty mod.
the moment on 24:50 where you realised that the desperation phase was hard made me remeber the time when the mutant boss from fargo's mod got its desperation phase, because right after beating it on eternity mode (and not masochist mode) and crafting the first "post-mutant" weapon available to me, I *really* couldn't re-beat his desperation phase again.
3 months later, I got some friends onto a discord call and proceeded to delete the world because I didn't remember why I stopped playing it; good times.

as somebody who enjoys both terraria calamity and mgrr, it would be fun to see the devs add mistral's polearm weapon or something similar refrencing it into the game, especially since it can transform into a whip. it would be a fun weapon to mess around with and a good concept if the devs ever decide to add more whips to terraria calamity
the fact that you don't only elusively the muramasa just makes this regular calamity but you get a item that just grows in power. theres no extra challenge to this

I haven't played Terraria modded in a while, and forgor about how insane infernum visual effects are
30:40 its basically just telling you how many times you need to move the decimal place to the right. the way i like to remember it is just subtract 1 from the number, and add that many zeros. for example, 2.5 trillion would be 2.5e12, so you add 11 zeros (2,500,000,000,000)
I love how every enemy in the game is the dungeon guardian before you beat a boss with these conditions.
I was under the assumption you wouldn't use other weapons than Murasama. The mushrooms were fine, but the starfury confused me.

16:01 that one boss fight with the green laser. It really seems like you just have to destroy the drones that’s making the laser in order to dodge the attack. Also seeing these mods makes me want to play terraria. First with no mods and then with mods. Idk if mods affect the actual vanilla game but I would like to try it out soon
it doesn't affect the game for the mods you need tmod loader which I think is free: add on
I think when doing these kinds of challenge video, you should commit to only the weapon you're using as challenge. Using other weapons when your main weapon is too weak makes this challenge kinda like a normal playthrough, but easier because you got a free weapon.
That's what I was thinking. Half of the video is him just playing normally and the other half is him using a decently op weapon that he's arbitrarily nerfed because there wouldn't be enough content if he committed to the actual challenge's rules.

The E in the calculator is the shorthand for “the exponent of base 10”, for example 100 is 10^2 so it’d be 1E2

For the artificial Mushroom biome, I tend to place the mud in a grid-like fashion.

Hey. I've just startet playing Terraria with mods. I started with Calamity and then switched to thorium because i felt a little bit overwhelmed by all the things I can craft :D Would you say it is a better idea to start with a Thorium playthrough and after that with a calamity playthrough? I feel like when I'm starting with a calamity playthrough, Thorium could feel too easy?
I feel Calamity playthrough is too overwhelmign for new players because it adds so much mods and like alot of bosses post moonlord (which is already the end for vanilla)
you decide just don't go to harder difficulties because oyu might not get used to it until you better an easier difficulty to get a feel for the game
