    I flew business class on AA back in June 2022 from London to Dallas and then American Eagle (FC) from Dallas to College Station where I now live, (I used to live in DFW). I was very impressed with Eagle and I like being able to fly from CLL versus driving to Dallas or Houston to catch a mainline airline. I’m flying to Cleveland later this year on AA and will be taking Eagle out of CLL again to connect with the mainline in Dallas. Looking forward to it.

      Eagle does have its perks. It is nice flying out of the hometown airport rather than driving to the closest major hub. How is American for long haul flights? I’ve considered looking into it for possible trips in the future.

    When I flew on American Airlines on a CRJ in 2010 from Houston to Huntsville, There was not a first class area. All coach! It had the same seating configuration too. I sat on the left side near the front of the plane, but no leg room. Got a can of soda and a tiny bag of pretzels as I recall.

      It sounds like you were on a CRJ-200. I know they used to have a few of those. It could possibly be an ERJ-135 or 145, those have a 1-2 configuration.

    I have flown on American Airlines only once back in June of 2016. I flew out of LAX into Charlotte-Douglas Airport. From there, I caught a connecting flight into Melbourne, Florida for my annual summer vacation in Central Florida where I used to live from 1969 to 1971. Anyway, I was generally satisfied with the service and had no complaints. But, if I may say so, I am a big fan of Delta Airines and prefer to stick with them. I certainly hope I am not raining on anyone's parade in regards to American Airlines, but Delta is my preferred choice. I got a great deal on the Internet when I used American and did not regret it. Delta had nothing available that I could afford for the dates that I wanted to travel on. My two cents worth!

      From the experiences I’ve had with American. They’re not bad. Like you, I would prefer traveling with Delta over American. My biggest reason why I haven’t flown with Delta lately is mostly due to their prices. If they were lower, they would be my airline of choice.

    Very cool video! I've had that happen on at least 2 or 3 of my flights, meaning we were short flight crews members which caused a delay. On 2 of them we were missing flight attendants because their flights were late or delayed, which means you can't leave without them! The other one was we were missing a co-pilot here again because his flight was delayed or late. All flights must have all of their flight crew members aboard or it cannot depart! It's just something we all have to deal with at one time or another because it's an aspect of flying whether we like it or not!

    • @AVIT_8350
      @AVIT_8350  ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed. There’s a lot more to aviation than most people realize. Luckily our delay wasn’t too bad and our flight was just reassigned to another captain.

    I know the CRJ gets a lot of hate, but I love the plane! I flew on Skywest Airlines first CRJ in 1995 give or take a year. It was awesome! Compared to the Fairchild Metro and Embraer 120.

      I don’t mind the 700 or the 900. I’ve gotten quite used to them. My personal favorite is Air Canada’s CRJ-900. I’m still skeptical about the 200 though.

    1. I flew this airplane and tail number many times and logged many hours in it. Was a beautiful time in my life.
    2. It wasn't American that you were flying. It was Mesa Airlines. The only thing AA about Mesa: is the paint on the airplanes, flight attendants have to wear an AA scarf, and the boarding announcements done by the flight attendants.
    The good experience you experienced on that flight was not due to American Airlines. It was all Mesa.
    American Airlines customer service has been trash for quite a while.

    • @AVIT_8350
      @AVIT_8350  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s awesome that you recognize the aircraft. It’s always nice to see where the aircraft is.
      I do understand that it is technically Mesa Airlines. It’s like SkyWest which provides the crew and aircraft, which are then set up for the mainline partner. Since tickets are booked through the mainline airline, I refer to the flights as such. Understandably, the experience on mainline can differ from the experience on regional flights.

      @@AVIT_8350 Apologies if I came off assholish it was not my intention. When I flew for Mesa, AA was a horrible partner, they treated us like trash, and it put a bad taste in my mouth with them, including their bastard child Envoy(former American Eagle). Mesa is definitely not perfect, but they had a lot of really good people working there.

      @@paulnobleii4239 It’s all good. Understandably a bad experience can leave a sour taste for a while. Currently, I’m pursuing a degree in aviation and thought about the airline route for a while. However, after hearing them “talk” a few times I’ve decided to switch to aviation operations instead. Flying is great but the airlines seem pretty hit or miss.
