Hey Joel - love your videos, love your humour, creativity and how inspirational you are. I've suffered from depression for my whole life, and a combination of therapy and drugs (not suggesting anyone should take drugs or pushing that, a personal choice that worked for me, just wanted to remove the stigma associated with them) and after a breakdown in 2016 I have not looked back. For anyone suffering with mental health issues, particularly us men who find it hard to talk about, don't suffer in silence. There's so much help out there and it isn't as scary as it might seem to get it. Joel - thank you and hope you and your family have a great Christmas

Thanks for being so open and honest. I sub'd your channel around 6 months ago and can honestly say I enjoy watching everything you do. I've suffered with mental health issues at times and you've no need to apologise for not sending out as many videos - its natural to need a break. All that aside, I hope you're ok and I hope you and your family have a lovely christmas. Keep up the good work mate and keep your chin up! :)

Hey Joel. Thanks for the work you do on the channel. I first got into your videos when, stuck in a doldrum of owning boring car after boring car, I stumbled upon your M240i content and it really inspired me to go out and buy one. I've had it now for 4 months and it has really re-invigorated my love for driving. I've now watched your entire back catalogue and look forward to your next video popping up. Memorable ones for me this year have been the Scotland trip with your brother, the race to Paris and your trips to the Ring in your Z4 and 720, all fantastic content. I dont think I've ever written on a page before regarding this. So what you're doing is making a positive difference to our lives. One day I'll own a BMW 760 Li.

Absolutely love the channel Joel - I think its fair to say we are all buzzing to see more road trips and bargain buys in 2022!
Tbh I think that the higher views on your Range Rover videos highlights the fact that cheap depreciated cars are obtainable to buy for a substantial percentage of your viewers and this makes your channel really relatable. We, the viewers, get the enjoyment of a front seat view into achievable premium car ownership without the misery of having to pay bills when it inevitably lets you down!! So don't forget to keep buying cheap, relatable, semi-obtainable cars even when you have your millions of subscribers in the next couple years!!!

Hi Joel. Sorry you're having a bad time recently and hope you have a better time in the New Year. My son a couple of years ago, same age as you, went through a bad time too but I'm so proud of him turning his life around with a steady job, playing football, a lovely girlfriend and a house. All this was impossible to imagine then, but through support and love off his family and sheer determination, he has turned things around. You remind me of him, confident, funny and a lovely persona. I too grew up watching the same era of top gear and love watching your journey with the cars that we all lusted over, even if they need tlc. Thanks for being honest with the audience. I think that type of transparency holds a lot of weight with viewers. People can think that as a creator there is an unlimited budget to do this or buy that, and that may be the case someday but for now the grind is real and much appreciated.

Keep up the great work Joel. Great points raised and huge respect for being transparent. I recently had anxiety issues whilst doing my Music Masters degree to the point that I had to take a year out to complete the course - bottling things up to hide negative aspects of your life (mental buffering) and not letting others down. Self-coaching, counselling and gym workouts have helped me rekindle with my social circles and graduate last week. There's always a way out of a difficult situation :)

Really great series of videos, with vehicles the “normal” person can relate to (and like you, most of your vehicles are from that 2000-10 period that I grew up watching on TV).
Also really appreciate your openness and honesty in answering the questions and talking so openly to us strangers about depression. This helps make everyone realise that there it is possible to talk about your problems.

I don't normally comment, but I felt I had to just to say thank-you for your honesty, both on the mental health side of things and on what you earn. You had no need to disclose either, but I think it says a lot about how you feel about your viewers and general openness in making these things public.
The 7 series trip from Scotland was what brought your channel to my attention. I felt your content deserved more subscribers than it actually had at that time, so it is good to see how it is progressing and growing all of the time. I also like the fact that you are not getting into crazy amounts of debt trying to finance the next supercar etc and actually purchasing cars that many of us mere mortals can afford!
