Elizabeth was up--every time!!! When we 'get up' on water skiis, we say "hit it" ! (This boat driver didn't hit the throttle. He merely dragged her through the water.) Elizabeth, you were marvelous to have been able to withstand that pull so many times. Usually it's 3 tries and you're out! (Once you learn to water ski, you never forget--but you have to have a boat driver who is experienced pulling skiiers!!!)
Elisabeth, you did so well. I was yelling go faster!! But you could not hear me. The boat has to go full or near full throttle to pull you out and keep you on top of the water then pull back when on top. Otherwise you drag in the water and can’t hold.

We used to water ski a lot as a family and that brought back many memories of teaching others to ski. I clearly remember seeing just the top of one friend's head as he literally plowed through the water, nearly totally submerged! I'm in my 70s and I can still knee board- an accident put paid to me skiing. Also, the farewell from the boats echoes our yearly Blessing of the Fleet in Nelson, a city with a large fishing heritage. It's a sobering tradition. Once again - thank you Nicki. 🇳🇿

Everyone has their own taste, of course. But, personally, I like the voice over narration that you have been using in your later videos. You certainly have a way with words and your descriptions add a lot to the videos. It’s nice to hear your interpretation of the scene before us. Having said that, I do like the down to earth aspect of listening to you speak directly to us. Perhaps a judicious mixture of both would be best.
The boat driver never got going fast enough. Wasn’t her fault. Water skiing and skiing are quite easy, just don’t cross skis and don’t lean too far forward. The boat driver didn’t have experience hauling a skier.
For a few years I lived in a holiday destination. The end of the season was so bittersweet! Beautiful time of year, the unbearable heat has gone, the streets empty out and the city returns to the residents. The commodity of TIME on your hands is yours again!
Just noticed your subscribers have increased Nicki. Hopefully people viewing your great vlogs keep remembering to suscribe as well. Thats the leastwe can do in appreciation of the effort you take. There was something reassuring about the ending of the season and the custom of the boats send off. Makes us think that like the seasons these things will pass.and there will be next year and hopefully better things ahead for everyone wherever they are.

When I was very young we could hear the ships on the River Mersey sound their horns at New Year, it was always very special. Hello from Louisiana USA. Love watching your videos and escaping to Positano for a few minutes. Having just been hit by 2 hurricanes 6 weeks apart, needed this distraction today.
I remember the first time I tried to water ski, went out on the boat belonging to my husbands boss. My first time meeting him and his family. When I got out of the water and took off the float vest, I had no idea my top had come down. It took several minutes for my husband to make me aware- oh my goodness I was so embarrassed. Never could get the hang of skiing, I do a bit better on snow. But tie and inner tube behind the boat and I’m the first one on! A for effort you all, it’s so much harder than it looks. Also had a friend whose dog would ride on a boogie board behind the boat. Holly?

It’s always hard to say goodbye to boating season... we had a regatta on our lake at the end of season and that was the end of that. Canoes, kayaks and all other boats put away for the winter. We used to go to a family camp in Kings Canyon Sequoia National forest where my child learned to water ski holding onto a pole coming off the side of the motor boat. She was able to sit on a deck in skis to begin the ride as the boat slowly pulled her forward. It was quite successful. If I could upload pics or a movie I would share. Elizabeth's girls would love it!

Saying goodbye to the boats was very sad. I think it was because this was a very challenging year for everyone but we all pray that 2021 will be much better. With that being said I really enjoyed the video, Elizabeth is such a tropper never giving up. She did great. I water ski and it looks like on the video the boat wasn't going fast enough to get her bum up n out of the water. But hey, I'm no expert & they all did great! Oh and whatever you were eating at the restaurant looked very delicious!! I miss the food in Italy terribly. 😂❤

Loved this. Your life in Positano is lived according to the seasons. I love it. When things are the same all year round there is nothing to look forward to....I was born and raised in Europe and have experienced this. In Australia it’s very different....we eat watermelon all year round, even in winter....where’s the fun in that???

Well done Elizabeth! I was cheering you on! Got a bit emotional when the boast headed off for winter moorings. It was as if they had little personalities and knew it was their time to rest. I have no idea why I watch your Vlogs right at dinner time but I think it is because when you show food, I need to eat!
The boat driver was initially too slow and dragged her instead of allowing her to "pop" up onto her skis. The boat should pull you up so you do not have to try to "stand" on your skis at too slow a speed. Every one is attempting to stand before the boat has enough speed. An experienced water ski boat driver would have made it much easier. Start slow but then gradually accelerate so the skis can plane and support the skier's weight.
Elizabeth skiing was 👍 Nicki walking down all those steps in pitch dark was scary. Is it allowed to put those small lights that carlos has put in the garden at least for some distance. The salute made me tear up .

All my sympathy! I tried waterskiing many years ago on a lake in the US, but it wasn’t a great success. And that lake had lots of weeds which wound round one’s legs when you fell. Horrible sensation! It was a fun video to watch. Take care, we see things getting complicated in Europe. Did that round dish at the restaurant have octopus in it?
I live at a holiday resort in the UK we still have lots of tourists here...making the most of it....before winter.. But it’s lovely to get out town back again after a busy season. Another lovely film thanks
If you have to walk down the stairs in the dark surely a head torch would be better than a camera which might run out at any moment. Enjoyed the vlog though and the obvious fun you all had.
Like your videos, well done! Funny, living near the Costa del Sol in Spain, 7 in the morning is stil dark here. First daylight starts around 8 at the moment

I had an uncle that took me, my brother & sister to try to waterski on an Indiana lake. It was quite tricky. My brother tried it many times, but never really got up. You do need a boat with a fast takeoff and speed to do it efficiently.
You should try wakeboarding.. its easier.. i miss it.. as always love your posts.. this has me smiling and hoping im there trying those activities also..

Saying goodbye to the boats was very sad. I think it was because this was a very challenging year for everyone but we all pray that 2021 will be much better. With that being said I really enjoyed the video, Elizabeth is such a tropper never giving up. She did great. I water ski and it looks like on the video the boat wasn't going fast enough to get her bum up n out of the water. But hey, I'm no expert & they all did great! Oh and whatever you were eating at the restaurant looked very delicious!! I miss the food in Italy terribly. 😂❤

Ahhh! A lovely look at the bittersweet end of the season and long ago memories of taking off on water skis from the end of my uncle's dock....sometimes a water sprite 🧚🏻♀️, sometimes an underwater sea creature🐳

Loved this. Your life in Positano is lived according to the seasons. I love it. When things are the same all year round there is nothing to look forward to....I was born and raised in Europe and have experienced this. In Australia it’s very different....we eat watermelon all year round, even in winter....where’s the fun in that???

I really enjoy the voiceovers - it feels intimate as though we are listening to her thoughts. I think the current combination is a lovely balance.

Well done Elizabeth! I was cheering you on! Got a bit emotional when the boast headed off for winter moorings. It was as if they had little personalities and knew it was their time to rest. I have no idea why I watch your Vlogs right at dinner time but I think it is because when you show food, I need to eat!
The boat driver was initially too slow and dragged her instead of allowing her to "pop" up onto her skis. The boat should pull you up so you do not have to try to "stand" on your skis at too slow a speed. Every one is attempting to stand before the boat has enough speed. An experienced water ski boat driver would have made it much easier. Start slow but then gradually accelerate so the skis can plane and support the skier's weight.

All my sympathy! I tried waterskiing many years ago on a lake in the US, but it wasn’t a great success. And that lake had lots of weeds which wound round one’s legs when you fell. Horrible sensation! It was a fun video to watch. Take care, we see things getting complicated in Europe.

I had an uncle that took me, my brother & sister to try to waterski on an Indiana lake. It was quite tricky. My brother tried it many times, but never really got up. You do need a boat with a fast takeoff and speed to do it efficiently.
