What an absolute delight! I’m so glad I’ve stumbled across your TH-cam videos. I’m in my 70’s so this gives me an opportunity to see this lovely part of the world and it’s amazing culture
I came down to the comments to find out who else lots their marbles at his t-shirt! I am laughing SO hard, there are tears flowing, oh my goodness. And the gentle commentary from Nicki was just the icing on the cake. I wouldn't have been able to keep myself from bursting into hysterics.
I just ❤️ your videos! They are absolutely transporting to watch from cloudy Massachusetts. Just watching all of that wonderful sunshine makes me feel warmer. Thank you for allowing us to have a little window into all of that inspiration.
Hi from trinidad and tobago,I just love being transported to your part of the world where these days we cannot travel as we would like too,all these worries will be soon gone,God's Kingdom will remove all our worries
The little boy's Tshirt reminded me of when I lived in Hong Kong - one time I saw an old Chinese lady with a Tshirt on that made me blush. Loved the old machinery, what tales it could tell.....
I just loved the visit tiothe tile factory and the large tile 'floor'? you showed at the beginning, Enjoyable as we are introduced to the characters and dwellings in your part of the world. I enjoyed this relaxed style of travelling and finding out, Thank you and stay safe.
Painting in that ceramic factory sounds like a wonderful job😂 Really interesting to see the process of making olive oil, all our local bodegas here process the olives the local farmers pick into olive oil. I have some friends who have large olive groves and take their olives in, I only have a few trees but love picking them, and I pass my big bucketful over to them to add into their total, so they don’t go to waste, and generally I get a free 5 litre bottle of olive oil in exchange 😀 which is a bonus xx
Nicki & Elizabeth you are true kindred spirits always exploring & having fun together so young at ❤️ heart. Enjoyed the the video it was splashed with color!
Thanks Nicki for a sweet creative video. As I'm also into little bit of painting as a hobby..I was really attracted to the tile making...was so tempted to hold a brush and try my hand on those tiles😊💖........As the Corona cases are just surging all over the world...I would like to request everyone to just adhere strictly to mask wearing nd social distancing for your and your family's safety....till we get the vaccine because there dosen't seem to be another way out.👍🙏
What a nice drive before the lockdown, glad you and Elizabeth had a chance to go venture the coastline. Love that ceramic shop. You will have to have Elizabeth take photos of the baby goats when they arrive. So, I see there was a filter over the top of the bucket when the olive oil came out, after that is it ready for use? How lucky to be able to make your own oil. Oh, and love that decorated blue house, you just never know what you will find around a corner. Take care, ciao
The tile shop was fantastic. Such gorgeous colors. The house with the painted walls was so lovely. And the olive oil wow, how nice they can do it at home with that olive squasher :) xx
I could die happy at the tile, ceramics shop. I am obsessed with bowls and plates. I have beautiful tile a very simple traditional design, blue and beige up in my kitchen. I makes me so happy.
In St Helens, Oregon...just outside Portland, there was an Italian man who left Italy during the time of Mussolini. This gentleman built all the stone houses(still standing) tiled beautifully and made his own wine... Good health to Carlo...yourself... and all in Positano.
It gave us an idea that olive oil can be produced in small scale.. I thought it is being manufactured only in big factories..... Your vlog is so informative......
I will be keeping you all in my prayers and stay safe Nicki. I know it's hard to be back in lockdown and I have a feeling it's coming here too. Whatever you share with us, is always enjoyable. For me, it's the most relaxing 20 minutes I have to myself.
that house was amazing that the man painted!! So cool to see how olives were made also, such a big process and all we do is buy it off the shelf and never wonder how its made most of us (I always like to know how everything is made). I hope the goat is doing good and had her babies.
Now I have to go back and find the other ceramic video...to see artisans with products still made by hand with love and care is a joy. I'm really enjoying your videos- so glad I found them.
Beautiful tiles!! And fascinating to watch the olives squashed. What a lovely day you shared with us, Nikki! ❤️🙏🏻Prayers that you’re out of lockdown soon.
I love the tiles from the Amalfi coast- we brought back a 6 tile picture of Positano in 2012- it hangs on my covered patio. My kitchen table faces it. Hard to pick favorite tiles, pictures, etc. interesting to watch the olive oil pressing. My family in Dad’s hometown, the hills above the Amalfi coast are, of course going into lockdown, too. May all of you be safe from this nasty virus.
Yes we are all limited with our freedoms at the moment. Sad. We are not on total lockdown but could be soon. 🙏🏻 this all ends soon! Loved seeing the tiles, just gorgeous! I hope you, Carlo, Skye, Elisabeth and her family stay safe!
You are such a Beautiful Soul! You are a kind friend to those you hang out with and your loyalty to others surely shows! Thank you kindly for bringing Italy to people like me who can't be at their ancestors country but can visit through your eyes and lens! Thank you for sharing the local artisan's business companies and allowing us to gaze at such fine craftsmanship! Every time I view you channel, I leave with such a positive fulfilled manner, so thanks again for you taking time out to film and edit and share this with the world! God Bless!
Lovely drive, did Elisabeth get tiles done there before, i remember there was some painting on one of the tiles being done, and it seemed as if there was a whole batch of tiles Elisabeth was having made, fabulous ceramic shop. The policemans house you can see he loved what he was doing, so creatively done, lovely. Thankyou to you and your neighbour for showing us the process of the olive oil being produced, let us know how it tastes. Good luck mummy goat with your baby, take care all. 🏴 xxx
This was an absolutely fabulous video. It hit every mark for me. I would get lost in the ceramic tile shop and can fancy a retirement of painting tiles. I would love that. I have been captivated by ceramic tiles and Italian mosaics since I was little. Then, just when I was thinking that we missed the olive oil harvest, you were able to capture the process. What becomes of the macerated olives? Do they use the olive paste in cooking at all, or is it used as compost? I love your video work and editing. Thank you so much for another mini vacation from our current situation. Stay well.
Amazing coincidence! Today I was in my art studio beginning work on custom tiles for my personal mural - a station, I believe tiles set into walls are called, with no idea of what the design would be!!! Got some ideas now
Thank you so much for making this wonderful video. I loved seeing the beautiful ceramics and watching the olive oil being made. All of this done in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Thank you again for a very lovely video. Watching olive oil drip into the bucket made my mouth water! I'm sorry you have to go into lockdown again. I'm surprised that we haven't because of all the new cases that we've had because people just won't follow the rules. Stay safe. Love from Texas.
Another wonderful video. Loved seeing the ceramics and so amazing seeing how they make the olive oil. Thank you again Nicki for taking us along. Stay safe 😷🥰
Loved the first tile you picked up in the ceramic shop ! ......how superb are the views in autumn and the peacefulness of the villages and roads? .... and all the darling goats dogs and cats 💜
Thank you once again Nicki for a very interesting video. I love to see all the ins & outs of everyday working life. The ceramics are just beautiful. Please keep safe Nicki,Carlos,Skye & Holly. Xx 😘

Here in Crete we make our oil from green , small olives , the black ones have more acid (?) .This year we had to pick them earlier , because we can't trust the weather anymore ! It turned out extra virgin. We needed 8.5-10 kilos for a litre because it's early but better now than nothing due the weather !

Beautiful, thank you for sharing. I used to work at a ceramics store in NYC that sold many things that were imported from Amalfi and Deruta. I always wanted to go one day to see what it was like, but this was great as well.

Thx to both you and Elizabeth and your friends for sharing their oil processing. I so wish I could order the ceramics to Canada! Ciao (hello?) to Carlo, Skye, Nickola, Miss Holly and all the Positano friends and family. I know it’s small consolation but at least you’re both safe in a lovely house together w/your fur family and gorgeous view. Avoid news from Corp media (chk only as needed) who sell fear and drama. Stay safe Nikki & family. Lockdown is not pleasant but it has to be done to stop the spread of covid & keep people safe however unpleasant & confining it can be. Here we had a second lockdown which lasted a long while & we have only just come out of it a week or two now but proceeding with caution, & zero case for 20 days so far. Hope it continues & slowly but surely we will get back to some sort of normalcy. Take care & thank you for a very informative video on the tiles &!olive oil making. I was going to ask the same question. We assumed the stones must be ground up in that brown paste so would not be edible.
Great questions

I like seeing you and Elizabeth alone having fun. No noisy jumping girls. I don’t mind the dogs though.
Enjoyed all your side trips. Plenty pf color, very productive. Shared with my cousin. Her grandmother left Vietri for San Francisco c. 1910.

Here in Crete we make our oil from green , small olives , the black ones have more acid (?) .This year we had to pick them earlier , because we can't trust the weather anymore !
