to check instruction for key programming, go to description of the video and you'll see Eeprom information and click, then it'll send you to the website and scroll a bit down and you'll see the instruction.

Another way to do this is just read the key data and clone a key using one of the IDs. No writing back to the eeprom and no programming. Key just works.

Yeah I know that part too, but if you doing it for a customer that can be dangerous because what if someone finds the key! Specially if you didn’t know which number the key was written.

@@carsnkeysautomotive Yep definitely. I always ask the customer. Sometimes they want to just add in case they find it later. Others want all deleted due to theft.

Hey man you put all your hex values to 0? I saw in another video that you need to keep the values for the valet lockout fb df and 5a 69. Can you please confirm this? In your eeprom they seem to be reversed.

If you edit or change numbers, you might need to do that.
but most of the time when you re-flash the chip, stays as is because we just re-flashing. Do not edit it. Just read, save file and re-flash. You have to save it in case something happens.

can the ecu be in the car still? if i have the large computer anbd connect via obd2 wouldnt it connect to the ecu and ecm? or do i have to pull it out and connect this way?

    • @carsnkeysautomotive

ECM needs to be out to program the keys, you’ll be lucky if you can do it by OBD11. Just the earliest Toyota models

Great video bro! So once ECU is reset, do we just plug it back to the vehicle? And then how do we program the keys after that? Do we need multiple keys?

Once you have resetted the ecu, plug it back in the car… the security immo light will stay steady (wont blink) you put a new 4C chip key and it will automatically program it
