In my particular case it was on a 2001 Lexus LX470 but it had the same 16-bit eprom (IC900 on the board) and everything worked the same way. The trick was getting the USB driver to work on laptop and making sure the clip was making proper contact with the chip (R/W light on the CH341A).

If you could give me a for sure answer that would awesome, because I plan on picking up the 2004 manaul ecu as my last part of the swap for only $100 without keys!

hmmb interesting. Im in a situation where I only have a valet key programmed to the car, and I have a master key that is cut but not programmed to the car. and from what I know and have experienced is that you can only program new keys to a lexus using the pedal dance method when using a master key as the host key. the pedal dance method doesnt work with a valet key. I watched this video but im just not quite familiar or up to scratch with some of the terminology mentioned.
This is next level stuff. You are hacking the EEPROM to wipe it and telling the ECU it’s brand new and accept the fist three keys it sees as master and 4th as valet on the IS300. Probably same for most Lexus of this era.
@Rally Ranch Motorsport , I have exactly same scenario for my Prado. Did you figure out how to program master and additional keys when you only have a valet key ? Thx
Hi Binh, Finally the guy and video I've been looking for on TH-cam. I understand what you were doing but I still have a couple of questions you might be able to help me with. I own a 2018 Camry. I have the two original keys and they work fine. I bought a third blank key from a place in Florida name Locksmith Keyless. I own a LAUNCH X.431 scanner which has the ability to program keys. I cut the new key and inserted it into the car's ignition. I used the scanner to program the new key. Now I can use the buttons on the key to open and close the doors and the trunk as well as the alarm. What I can't do with this key is start the car. It will crank ok but won't start. I see from the scanner that I can only have three (3) keys programed. Question. should I still be able to try to reprogram the third key or do I have to erase all the keys in order to reprogram the last one as well as the two originals? From your video it looks like the car reads the key and writes the code it get from the key into the IC900. If this is the case there is nothing in the key that has to be erased but rather the ECU clears the memory and writes the key codes into those memory locations? I this correct? You mentioned that you found or have some technical information about how the immobilizer system works can you share this information or tell me where to get it? Sorry for the long message but I want to give you enough information so you might be able to help me with this problem key, i.e. why it wont start the engine yet still allows the LOCK and UNLOCK etc to work after programming. Thanks David
Your best bet is to get techstream to program keys. If they are regular remote keys, it’s two processes to program. 1. Remote (easy), 2. Immobilizer (tricky). I have a video for 2012 Camry. If smart key, i have video for Avalon, probably same process for 2018 Camry.
I thought Locksmith Keyless was a great place to by keys so I stocked up on a lot of inventory from them, but now that I have been trying to program many these keys that I bought, I have been shafted on a countless bases, especially, if they were bought in a 10 pack from Locksmith Keyless. Honda and Dodge keys from there failed practically every time... I lost out on several jobs where I traveled 50 miles or more from home and the keys I cut would not program.. I Paid the price for an ILCO from a near by locksmith in the next town and they programed perfectly each and every time... Just Saying... Don't use junk keys if you travel away from the home folks...
So this is a lot of work, I'm not experienced in this kind of thing and I don't wanna screw it up. Is it possible to pay a dealership or something to have this done or do I have to do this myself to run a manual ecu?
Is the only thing that prevents another ECU from working in your vehicle is the immobilizer function and whether it will allow keys to work in the ignition? IOW, after this is done, the new ECU will work perfectly in the vehicle, right? Nothing else is necessary, right? I have an all keys lost situation on a USA Lexus RX300 and I'm going to see if an XTool D7 will program a new key without swapping out the ECU. If it doesn't work, I might be following this path.
Your video is much appreciated! Would you know if this same procedure would work for late model toyotas that now come with smart key module (they also call it smart key certification ecu) i opened the box to check out the board and I dont see any eeproms with the part number that is normally used. It is definitely different than the ones prior to 2020. Mine is 22. Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Wow, I didn't expect for you to reply that soon. Thanks! Yes I knew that it has a separate immobilizer, but I thought all the keys information was stored in that smart box. The car was bought at an auction and someone attempted to steal it. the whole system is locked now, and the dealer told me the only way to program new keys was to buy a new smart box which is close to $2k.😢 How can you do a hard reset on this type of smart module? I know they do the pin thing where the short out 4 and 13 but mine does not have any the TS pin. I know it's a lot but any tips would be much appreciated!
Looking at the video about rewriting the immobilizer eprom. I am looking for this kind of info about the RKE for my 2006 Camry. Do you have any guidance ? Thanks
Would this process work on 2006 is250? This car has a separate immobiliser module (ID Code Box) that has an eeprom, so could you do the same on there instead of the ECU, and then perform the OBD pin short "handshake"?
Hi Binh, I bought a used Rav4 from an auction with no keys available, do you think if I reset the keys to zeros as you’ve shown, I’ll be able to get the car to recognize a brand new key? Given that I don’t have any key for that car. I appreciate your help.

the transponder needs to be programmed to the car. The chip is highly unlikely to go bad. Its a passive device that doesn't have any real "moving" parts or power.
@@TunerwithKids this seems like a massive oversight on lexus' part, the fact that the immobilizer can literally shut down your car but can still be reset if a thief has the know-how. i guess they didnt anticipate being able to hack it in 25 years

I would like to replace my car engine with one type 3.0 V6 D-4 i-Four (immobilized) toyota crown royal but there was not any key for a new engine .
Is possible to rmove or replace it by free ECU.
Clear immobilizer and program new key
@@TunerwithKids
Thanks,
I mean if swap Mercedes engine w124 with another one type 3.0 V6 D-4 i-Four.
Is possible to start engine with out immobilizer code?
IDK about Mercedes
hmmb interesting.
Thanks
David
Don't use junk keys if you travel away from the home folks...
my toyota corolla has an immobilizer box, what do I do in relation to this video?
So this is a lot of work, I'm not experienced in this kind of thing and I don't wanna screw it up. Is it possible to pay a dealership or something to have this done or do I have to do this myself to run a manual ecu?
There are services out there that can do it for you. Dealer ain’t got no business in messing with this.
I wish Volvo's had this chip.. try doing a Motorola MCU to find data from a V50 2009 very complicated
No keys means this is only method or pay dealer $2000 to reseed and program a new key.
Hey Binh were do you recommend to buy a used ECU?
Your video is much appreciated! Would you know if this same procedure would work for late model toyotas that now come with smart key module (they also call it smart key certification ecu) i opened the box to check out the board and I dont see any eeproms with the part number that is normally used. It is definitely different than the ones prior to 2020. Mine is 22. Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks.
New have a separate immobilizer box. New ECU just do hard reset to sync ECU with immobilizer.
Wow, I didn't expect for you to reply that soon. Thanks! Yes I knew that it has a separate immobilizer, but I thought all the keys information was stored in that smart box.
The car was bought at an auction and someone attempted to steal it. the whole system is locked now, and the dealer told me the only way to program new keys was to buy a new smart box which is close to $2k.😢
How can you do a hard reset on this type of smart module? I know they do the pin thing where the short out 4 and 13 but mine does not have any the TS pin.
I know it's a lot but any tips would be much appreciated!
@osmanflores7328 need to reset the immobilizer box. I don’t know how that one works though.
Sir can ask some questions what software use off immo?
Looking at the video about rewriting the immobilizer eprom. I am looking for this kind of info about the RKE for my 2006 Camry. Do you have any guidance ? Thanks
Would this process work on 2006 is250? This car has a separate immobiliser module (ID Code Box) that has an eeprom, so could you do the same on there instead of the ECU, and then perform the OBD pin short "handshake"?
The 2IS has an ECU immobilizer similar to this. I haven’t messed with it yet but I do have a spare ECU that I may experiment with one day.
@@TunerwithKids thanks. Interesting, as I was told there is no immo chip on the ECU, just these standalone ones in the ID Box.
Thanks Binh! Very informative video.
You put the transponders from the auto to the manual keys? Didn't see you cut the keys
Reused old keys. Reprogrammed manual ECU with old auto keys.
Hi Binh can you help me programmed a master key to my ES 300?
Awesome video, is it possible to verginized an ECU from cheve optra 2006? I am planning to replace my ECU with junk one. Thanks n advance.
new subs from philippines.
No idea. I’m sure there’s a way but Toyota is all I know.
thank you for the reply.
Hi dear so interesting can you please give me the link where can I buy this USB programmer
Check the description box.
Hi Binh, I bought a used Rav4 from an auction with no keys available, do you think if I reset the keys to zeros as you’ve shown, I’ll be able to get the car to recognize a brand new key? Given that I don’t have any key for that car. I appreciate your help.
If its the same era RAV4, late 1990s to early 200s, should be same process.
My Asprogrammer does not have the 93cxx option is this a older version of the most current one I go to the IC select chip & read it get a bunch of FF repeating or it will say check settings
Hey so you provide any service for phone need programming done ? Because I need my 98 ls400 ecu flash .I lost all keys.
Great video would that work with the ls430 2002 I've lost all my keys for this car, but I've got another ls430 with 3 keys I was wondering if I can make them keys work on both cars?
Yea should be similar setup. ECU might have different layout.
Cheers pal I will give that a try 👍
what about the VIN #? does that also get transferred? any videos on how to update VIN # on the cheap without buying expensive scan tool?
No idea, only 05 has the VIN, I believe. I think you may need Toyota Techstream that can flash ECU to rewrite VIN, but not sure.
Hey does it matters if the sunroof is tilt up cause mines stuck and want go down .hopefully that want interfere with programming. i been tryimg to program my key but dont know if im doing it correct.
Where did you download the asprogrammer and how did you install it. Mine looks different and it says it programmed the IC but didnt

After virginizing the ecu, will the ecu start with a non chip key? I’m doing a swap and have no keys
No, it needs a transponder key to initialize it.
I AM HAVING TROUBLE GETTING MY TOYOTA PRIUS 2003 GEN1 NO KEY TO PROGRAM NEED NHELP AND DIRECTIONS
Will this work with Mitsubishi?
do you think it’s possible upgrade a regular cut key to a smart push to start key for lexus 430
Not a true smart key, you can add a start button but still need a key.
Will this procedure work for jzs171 ECUs they are 1jzgte vvti very similar to the jzx110
it should be similar for most Toyota ECU of the same era.
There is jzs171 without immobilizers
@@TunerwithKids yea managed to get it to work now have crown vx ecu in my crown
@@4NDR01D5 yes there is but mine has immobilizer and all crown VX's had immobilizers and now my crown had a crown vx ecu. Only 300 of them out there and they made more power from factory, breaking the gentleman's agreement. Higher boost cut and more aggressive ignition table.
Can I reset / reprogram a used Lexus ECU with an original key Without having a car on site? If so, how hard is it?
I have Autel Im508.
Not with any tool. If you do this, you can clone another ECU immobilizer. Or reset it to allow any key to be added.
Would this work on an 01 gs300?
Awesome detailed video. I have a Mercedes 190SL with 2007 Yaris drivetrain. This car was running with a regular non chip key but since I changed some of the wiring, now I get code B2799 (Immobilizer System). So I have no ignition or fuel. Is it possible to program this ecu to run with a regular key which does not have a chip?
There are people who can disable immobilizer via ECU but I don’t know how.
You're a genius ! I will try with my Lexus LS400 soon .

Is the key correct chip? They make different variations of the immobilizer keys (H, D, etc)
conformal coating not flux very nice video
Came here to say this...ya beat me to it.
Wonder if this would work for JDM tototas.🤔
Should work if they have same immobilizer system. I don’t see them making any different since it’s the same engineering.
I have a valet key. Do I need to do this to program a master key or can I just use techstream?
If you only have a Valet key, any key you program via TS or pedal dance method will also be a valet key. Only way to program a new master is to do this hack.
@@TunerwithKids Thanks
is it flux on the ecu just use iso alcohol
Hi Binh! Great video, I am in the process of doing this but when i am in asprogrammer I keep getting IC not responding. I am a little stumped at getting this to work i made sure i had continuity on all the wires. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, did you find a solution to this. Its the same thing for me. I have done the 5v mod and am trying to read a 95xxx series.
@@screwloose2000 did not get it to work :( instead I got tech stream and that was much easier
Will it work if i remove that chip completely? On the ecu
No. To disable immobilizer, need ECU reprogrammed.
Btw quick question does your fuel pump make an engaging noise when you turn the key because mine doesn’t
i’m wondering this myself
@@DsfOnline it only primes when you turn the key
my issue wound up being cel B2796 bad communication with the Key /immobilizer . apparently my key didn’t work and the security light stayed on flashing. next day all of a sudden it started working again 🤷🏻♂️

Won’t work because the car expects the IC900 to operate
Hello, my 1jz engine I got came with a Ecu with inmobilizer, should clearing all keys solve my issue? it came with no keys I just want to make the engine start with out keys, thank you
You need to virginize it and program a new transponder key to the ECU.
@@TunerwithKids I see problem i dont have the ring that reada the keys would it work in your opinion?
Need that to read keys.
Can you make a video on how to get pincode from immobilizer dump
Pin code? You mean the Techstream ECU flash unlock code?
How did you change the vin on the replacement? Or did you trick us? 🤔
No vin assigned to ECU.
@@TunerwithKids I agree. Wouldn't a lot more painless to just swap eeproms doh?
Hell no. These are SMD devices. A 2 second program is much easier.
1 min to scratch protective coat off and 30sec to de-solder. In 5 min you can have both eeproms swapped and keep your original keys.
Heat gun @350 ain't never hurt any ceramic chip or pcb on the board it's pretty much the lowest risk. Get your brown #1 in the wrong spot? Accidently forgot to save your original dump with your 2mas and Val on the file or if the chip doesn't want to read or write in-circut then you have to pull eeprom off anyways. Too much can go wrong. You using the Panoma clip and not soldering a wire on to each leg because you don't want to use a $20 clip then it's OK. But for the guys the solder each leg yall are nuts.
Where is the clip and plug in on Amazon? And what program is used on the laptop?
The programmer should be in the description box of video. I actually have a more detailed video about the programmer in my IS300 cluster program video. Check that out.
pleasae help me it looks like you know yr stuff. my situation is i dont have all the fancy gadget and software for this. i have a 1998 lexus and need to start my car without chip. i have the whole key just not the chip that was located on top of key
Need a chip that was already programmed to add any new keys or need to do what I showed and reset the ECU.
Please help. I have a Lexus Is250 that I am working on I replace the engine I replace the push to start modules and the ECU is brand new from the dealership also I replace the immobilizer that’s in the dash I checked the vehicle with the scan tool from the mechanic and I have no codes but the vehicle is in security mode the security light is flashing and the immobilizer needs to be program that’s in the dashboard it is from another vehicle that I know is good. I would like to know how to program the immobilizer that is in the dash so that the security light will go off and my vehicle will start right now it will not start and there is no one locally in my big city that knows how to program an immobilizer
Toyota Lexus would have to seed the ECU with an unlock from corp. usually they don’t like to do this. They’ll just make you buy a new $1,200 ECU plus a new $500 key which they can program easily out the box.
Does this work on windows 10 64bit as the i cannot see the 64bit drivers in this version of the as programmer?
Yes. I have a W10 64bit machine.

Hey Binh, I have a manual ECU with no keys and it's the last part of my swap. I wanted to try this method to get keys programmed but I don't think I have the technical skills to modify the EEPROM Programmer to read the cars IC900. Is there any way to buy an EEPROM Programmer modded already, or is there an alternative method to reseeding the Immobilizer possibly with techstream you are aware of?
theres guys on the IS300 forums that can do this as service/business (Quantum auto?). It will be cheaper than reseeding via dealer.
Hey I have a Lexus key but the transponder chip is bad. Can I buy a new transponder chip, use my old key in the new case, and reset my immobilizer to match the new chips code?
the transponder needs to be programmed to the car.

My car is 2003 Chrysler Concorde, how do I find out the EEPROM chips? the number?
Idk.
Is there a way to test the assembled reader before using on an ECU and potentially damaging it? I just assembled the modified reader and used a multimeter to verify the connections, but I'm nervous to connect it to an ecu for fear that it could damage the ecu.
Only way is to plug it and read the chip. It won’t damage anything.
@@TunerwithKids would you agree that it's safer to just virginize the new ecu so that you can just pair your existing keys to it, versus having to remove and read the old ecu? I was thinking that's the smartest approach to avoid potentially damaging my working/paired ecu.
If you know how to go thru the pairing process. Just virginize it and program keys.
@@TunerwithKids thanks for this video! I was able to build the adapter and successfully read and virginize a spare ecu that I'll be having changed to a manual trans one soon. I'm going to test it tomorrow with my car to make sure I can enter programming mode and pair my existing keys.
@@TunerwithKids I tested out the virginized ecu and it started my car np. The red security light stayed on waiting for other keys, but I'll address that later.
Hey, can you tell me if the virginize code works on an 01 IS300 ecu? The chip is the same and I've read the contents. The keys appear to be stored in a slightly different arrangement, but the virginize code matches up if I zero out the other cells. The cells with values that you didn't change to zeros match up, but I had to zero out additonal cells that didn't have values in the 02+ ecu chip. Let me know your thoughts on this.
Zeroing out should put it into learn mode. Make sure the key count byte is set correctly to tell it no keys are programmed.
Can you remove the chip and start the car
Nope. Would need to have someone reprogram ECU to have it removed, if even possible.
After doing this (and keeping the valet key lockout) it only allowed me to program one key... Why is this? 2002 RX300
Idk, if you reset it as new, the ECU wants to program 4 keys, two master, a card lockout and the valet.
