I miss not being there to take and be on stage I haven't been on stage so I don't know how it feels like to miss performing it ain't for the lack of not wanting to and I know I could do it I'm overwhelmed that the kids is and the family's been in entertainment for a long time I was in elementary when my music teacher wanted me to become a pro singing on stage right then I wasn't even 10 years old and Mama did say no she called it in school and yes I miss the opportunity to take and go and do that and not do it on my kids graces and them for me and even though it's similar voices and deeper basis and then being even different I still love to take and get around and do a campfire scene barbecue in the whole bit you know

Oh the work required is extensive to say the least, but it's executed so flawlessly that it's generally taken for granted. Geoff is a treasure
I would actually *LOVE* to learn how to do that. I have a voice that I truly believe could be a big deal if in the right hands. I have no ability to make music myself except my voice so layering vocal tracks would be my best bet at making a sample to shoot off to bands or something to try and make a career of it. I can hit *almost* every note Geoff does, but I have also mastered growls for metal vocals and can do them without damaging myself. I've been practicing behind closed doors for YEARS and now I'm actually confident enough to try and make something out of it.

This was one of my great grandmother's favorite songs. When I first heard this I showed my mom. We just played it at her funeral. She would have loved this version. She always said to find a man with a deep voice because they never lie, and know how to treat their partner.

I have been singing bass for almost 50 years now and I can only dream of singing like this guy. Amazing! Not just how low the notes are but how fantastic his tone is in the entire song. I can't stop listening to this. Please, please do more covers.
I heard John Denver sing this in on the radio in1971 and loved it then .
50 years later, almost to the day when the song was first released (April 10, 1971), I hear the best rendition ever.
I would like to thank you for this beautiful tribute to one of the greatest singers/songwriters of the 20th century.
That song was hugging my wounded soul and told it everything will be fine.
I absolutely taken a back. I was blessed or cursed (depending on how one looks at it). By a very deep voice. I've never heard of Geoff. This just popped up and played after " a man of constant sorrow" by Home Free. Just WOW!!!! This made my day and its only 6am. It was great to sing in the same tone as the artist on a song that i know every word.

I am a proud mountaineer like my daddy before me. My dad (who also sang bass) was a big fan of John Denver's version of this before he passed two years ago and I can tell you right now like me he'd have been a huge fan of this version just as much! Amazing job!

Geoff, I love how when you do a cover, you don't just re-sing it, but change the meaning of the song to make it your own while keeping the core. It's a difficult thing to do, but it is very much appreciated.
When I was a kid there was a character in Marvel comics called Black Bolt. His voice was so strong he could shatter a mountain with a whisper. Geoff Castellucci's voice is the voice of Black Bolt.

OMG! Geoff. I was 3 and 4 years old when my Grandmother would bring her Sweet Adeline group to the house and practice there. This was one of the songs they use to practice. As a little boy I would stare up into their mouths wondering where and how that sound was being made. I loved their practices and the incredibly beautiful music that would occur. While there is obviously a huge difference between a group of women singing that song and you voice, you did an incredible job on it. That was freaking awesome. Made my day. Thank you, sir. Would you mind if I played this during my live broadcast next Thursday? Brought back so many memories for me, and I will be talking about those very memories that day. Thank you.
