its okay bro, what you are doing for the community is way better than the an issue with one car, an update from that car would be nice but not the end of the world, please keep building N/S63 and we hope soon you provide us some news on S68 engines, thank you
Thank you for the positive words and yes, I'll definitely continue making videos on these HOT V8's (N63 and S63) as these are one of my favourite engines 👍
@@dnl35projects let me tell you my story then i bought the bmw from my relative which i took it for high price due to its low miles, and since driving mostly practicale cars i have never thought bmw n63 would be reliable, then i met you and some nice ppl on youtube and forms who make owneing cars like this easier and not scary like most ppl say, i have been chaning my oil by my self and all the fuilds taking care to be safe and the car for what it can offer its one of the best from bmw fuel efficent and powerful everything you need in one package. So what you do is addivctive fun and we are learining alot from your experiance, thank you again.
Owner never deserved a mechanic so competent as you are. His loss and our win to get to see your skills and putting such an effort in this project and good videos. Keep up with the good work buddy ! 👊🏻
yeah its a shame but at the end of the day I am the only one responsible for not setting boundaries from day one, we started the project with an open deadline (on time and money) and for sure thats something I won't be doing again. No hard feelings though
I just found your videos yesterday and I've been using them as a refresher for an S63 I'm starting to rebuild for an M6 (I removed and tore down the engine about a year ago then got busy with other projects). I don't comment too often on TH-cam but I wanted to say even though the car didn't run, the video series was extremely well done and very helpful for someone actually building the same engine. Thank you for the effort, it's very much appreciated even without the payoff of hearing it run.
Hi Greg, thank you for the kind message. That’s the sort of feedback which keep us going 😉 I’m glad you liked the videos. Also, the car is currently running strong but I haven’t had a chance to do an update video as I’m away with the family
The car might be gone but I know me and a bunch of other people will be sticking with you for future videos mate. Really enjoy your style and depth of knowledge 👍👍👍
Thanks for the update. As long as you got paid for the work you did the owner is on his own. That he insisted you reuse old parts should have been a red flag. Look forward to the next video v👍
Look, I always wanted to re-use some old parts but never had the balls to do so as they could take the whole engine if they fail 😂 - Thats another reason why I really want to see this engine running, to know how far we can push things
So sad this was an amazing series! I know there's only more and better opportunities coming your way! Hopefully we can see the M5 on the road eventually 😅
Absolutely, I'm actually glad for the opportunity I had and everything I could lean with it - Will follow up with the owner in a few months to see how the car is going.
You did a great job - hope you've been paid what is due before the car left the shop. My M5 is still running and I hope I'll never have to pull the engine - but if I do, you gave me the confidence to try and tackle it :)
Thanks, at the end of the day they are not that special engines. You just need patience and take no shortcuts while rebuilding them - Thats another reason why I am so keen on seeing this engine running, we pushed many boundaries in this project.
I'm on the same boat 🤣 - The next project is my own car (F90 M5) and for sure I'm gonna have enough time to do the videos and build it the way I want (Possibly end of September) - Stay tunned 👍
Its very unfortunate, because Im also in a position where my car has been in the shop for a year now, and now we are dealing with compression issues. This is what comes with working on BMWs! I think the best thing to know going forward, is to trust your mechanic, and once acknowledged, give the mechanic the creative opportunity to showcase his work and be proud of it. You have to know what you're signing up for, and know that the pre-made budget most likely wont cut it lol. It never does.
with these high performance engines sometimes you have to bite the bullet and just go for it - I encourage people to go for a full rebuild sometimes instead of keep wasting money on trying to diagnose an issue just to end up rebuilding the engine at last - Again, this M5 owner paid $9.5k for another shop, they replaced 4 valve seals, lifters a bunch of un-necessary things when the actual issue was a bent rod causing the tick
Not the very best end but when the customer deals with the situation like this, you can not do anything. I feel sorry for you after all the effort you put into this project. Best thing would be getting your own M5 and do it again 😉 Anyway, awesome videos so keep posting and dont let yourself down because of this.😎👍
Thanks. Yes I will be doing the engine of my F90 in September when I'm back from holidays - That will certainly have no shortcuts and leave me plenty of time for the videos
Don’t worry man. I mentioned I’ve just bought a stage 2 100,000km F10 from Sydney on another video. Good chance I’ll blow it up soon and you can get your repeat chance 😂 Hope you already got paid for your work…
LOL thanks - Don't jinx about it, do the proper maintenance and don't go too hard on the boost/tune and it should be fine - If you are already planning to blow the engine consider getting it rebuilt/forged first as it will be much cheaper than doing it after it seize 😅
@@dnl35projects hoping not to blow it, but planning for the worst. Tempted to find a blown one and start a rebuild now with forged rods and pistons, ACL bearings and sleeved bores.

Regards from Australia
Hi, it’s a complicated logistic specially because of the machine shop, sometimes they take a week to do the sleeves sometimes a month. If it wasn’t for that I’d say 1 week to remove the engine, dismantle and clean all parts then another two weeks to put everything together and have it running properly.
i just bought a f10 535xi here in central canada, if we were closer i would definitely bring it to you.. some people are childish.. sorry you had to deal with one of them.. karma will bite him in the ass
