Q: I have to perform this static discharge every time for my computer to turn on :(
A: Your most likely looking at a bad charger or battery then. Also, make sure that your using a surge protector instead of plugging your charger directly into the outlet. Make sure its healthy and still working well. If thats not it, you can try replacing the battery and charger one at a time till you find the one that is the cause.
Q: I dont have a battery thats easily removable :(

Q: My computer is overheating and wont turn on. Will this help?
A: So to troubleshoot a computer that wont turn on, I would usually say to start with this video. However, an overheating computer can damage multiple components, make multiple components act in weird ways, and therefor makes it very hard to troubleshoot which components are the cause of the computer not turning on. You should try to address the overheating first. You can see that process here; • Video
Q: Why does this power build-up issue happen? How can I prevent it?
A: Make sure your using your computer plugged into a surge protector and not directly into the wall. Also, make sure to not use your computer around large sources of static like in bed, on pillows, etc. Repair tech wear anti-static bracelets when working on computer or put the on anti-static pads. Even though the computer case means you dont have to go that far, try not to use the computer around heavy static sources.
Q: I tried this and it didnt work
A: These are troubleshooting steps. Not magic fixes unfortunately. If none of these troubleshooting steps were able to identify the parts being tested as the issue, then you have identified the Motherboard as the most likely cause of the computer not starting. It would then have to be replaced or repaired. Let me know if you would like assistance with that operation :)

I felt so dumb after I realized I had none of these. Truth was my computer was dead and when I put the charger in *THE CHARGER WASN'T EVEN CONNECTED TO ITS BOX* It didn't get any charge because of that, so this whole time all this crying, has actually been over a computer that just needed to charge?! Just want to share my experiences, if it is static build up...there is a very easy solution, unplug your laptop from charger for 2-3 days, the battery get discharged..then plug your laptop back to charger...you get your laptop back...I was going to remove and insert the battery but it is internal...then I thought to take it a repair shop...but I just left it alone for a couple of days...and I did several hard reset in between by holding the power buttondown.....with no luck...but after 2 days...it was back to normal 😀

My laptop doesn't start, I can listen to the fan moving, but the display would not come.

@@asmichoudhry i had to repair my laptop and it cost me around $30s.they said it was a chipset problem in motherboard and they had to replace it.

I sent my some for my computer whilst i was at work, upon delivering it to me it failed to start up. He told me he had plugged in his cell phone into it to have it charged while making his way to me but i was so mad , i thought he bounced or dropped it which cause it to not turn on, hence i thought he was lying to me . It was this video that taught me how to trouble shoot the possibilities of static electricity build up and the first scenarios work for me. I apologized to my son and showed him how to trouble shoot the problem for his self. Thank you for your video which educated me .

Perfect solution to start with! My computer randomly turned off a Monty or so ago, and so took it to a computer specialist to repair. Thank you, my PC was facing just the same problem, shutting down itself immediately after turning on, so, I checked all the things step by step without getting worried, and found that was a RAM problem I just moved it in the next slot and it worked (Laptop HP Elitebook 840 model).
