I removed and replaced the battery, just as you did, and it worked! I am so glad I found your video! Here's a few bucks... you undoubtedly saved me a lot of money!

I have ROG GL553VD not charging and about going to do the exact same way as this video demonstrates. But when i wanna open the screw, I suddenly have the urge to charge it first to check whether it's working or not. Surprisingly, it charged!!
Then I remember if I left this thing in low battery state and the reason it worked again because perhaps the CMOS running out of the battery due to lack of battery capacity. Phew, now the trouble is gone!
Back then i thought the capacitor/resistor/MOSFET is going to be replaced, i've guessed it's due to short. But now, it's wonderfully back to normal again 😃😃

Hi Sorin. I'm viewing many of your videos and they are great.
About this particular problem, I have found them on many, many laptops with and without battery inside. Usually the process is to take out the battery or disconnect it and plug it back again and that's it.
I think it's some kind of protection on the battery that makes the charging/power process to be blocked.

That didn't work for me. My laptop is a year old... I'm pretty pissed because it's dead, and since this didn't work idk really what to do now. And I don't want to have to bring it in somewhere, but looks like I will have to. Knowing my luck, it's probably the power inlet that's messed up from having the cord dangling off the desk.

My expensive gaming laptop died several years ago now (exactly 3 years to the day I bought it - which coincidentally is also when the warranty expired - always figured that was suspicious), and since then I've not been able to power it on or charge it. The whole thing seems dead. The lights don't even come up. Unfortunately, removing the battery didn't help it any for me. Could do with one of those power checkers you used to see if any power is actually getting to it really, incase it is just the power port.

I have the no power, not charging issue on my Acer Nitro 5. I was really enjoying it, too. I've taken out the battery, then the CMOS battery, and tried to start it with charger only, like another guy said. Nothing happened. I plugged everything in, took out the memory...nothing. Same with the SSD. Used a nw, working charger...nothing. I'm either looking at a Motherboard replace which is what I fear) or, the charging jack. I only have access to an analog multimeter, so I can't check the charging jack, unless you can tell me a way to do so with a needle-type multimeter.

Sometimes it only takes to disassemble, reseat some components and put them back and it will work. I can fix that, too :p

Hello, I really appreciate this video. This has happened a few times on my laptop and I have sort of reset the computer by taking the battery out before. Do I need to replace the battery? I obviously don’t want to have to keep doing this. As you said, this is an expensive computer. My employer paid for it and I don’t want to have to buy another one. If the battery replacement will help this issue, I will gladly do that. However, it seems like it is not truly the battery, just something needs to be reset. Am I understanding correctly?

I'm having a similar problem with my hp; not the same one in the video. Does not power on and does not charge with it plugged in. So I did the same th in ng you did here, but when I plug it in without the battery the charging light comes on for only a second and then shuts off again. The laptop does not power on with or without the battery when plugged in
