Lads don't be afraid to buy this bike. I've traded my 650 dl for this because I was using it mostly for commuting and doing speed limits on motorways, and gsx s125 will do exactly that except it will be much cheaper and more convenient. This bike still feels torque'y even in 5th gear, you will be able to overtake anything that maintains speed. Sitting position is comfortable for long trips yet puts you in slight aggressive lean keeping you sharp and not wanting to take a nap like on sport tourers. Brakes on this thing are ridiculously good, ABS is very difficult to trigger and even if so, pulsing is easily noticeable yet very gentle and not intimidating. Seat is very low, great for people who are not flexible yet mounting this thing gives lots of pleasure as straigh away it puts you in position, my dl 650 was making me have to adjust myself. On gsx s125 you literally hop on, turn it with easy start and ride off, it takes 5 seconds if you're in a rush. Screen is very easy to read, Informative and there is no glare, not once had a problem seeing reading. Sound is best around in 125cc class. When in neutral this thing doesn't sound like 125, more like 400cc with deeper sound. This bikes does not sound like a scooter or "fart" machine. It's whiny at higher revs but in a good way, engine will scream in a pleasurable way letting you know it can handle much more if you want more revs. It's so light that you can jog with it in full gear and don't break a sweat, it's weight is not intimidating at all. Super easy to clean as engine cover doesn't have that many crevasses and gaps, and all fairings are such that one swipe with a cloth will leave them shiny. This was a very good choice I've made, This bike will let you commute extremely fast, will let you do weekend trips and will keep up with other vehicles on motorway, being able to go to 120-130 kmph if it's not windy and you're willing to lay your chest on the tank.

Ridden one for 7.5k miles now, city and country riding. The ABS light doesnt engage but theres very slight judder in the pedal on the rear which comes on. ABS does get confused with white lines so does lock up sometimes if travelling over them. The RPM shift light can be turned on to the specified RPM if wanted. Its bright white and can be set to flashing or static... personally its very irritating so i leave it off (especially night riding). The handling is the best ive had so far, i can throw this around in traffic and still maintain stability in semi-strong side wind. The display is also very decent in the fact that at a quick glance i know my RPM, gear and my speed within a fraction of a second. 2 trip timers.... nothing to brag about. I really cant vouch for this as a beginner bike enough. Hopefully will be taking my test when I get the time, but still think id use this every day for my commute. Wouldnt swap it for anything else.

For a modern design 125 its not that bad looking, but those tiny narrow front forks ruined the looks at the front at some point. Would looked so much better with USD forks.
spicy110 I've been watching a lot of your reviews lately and you gotta fill in the non subs haha. Plus being a tall guy myself it does help to know if a bike is suitable for taller people.
True, I ride a varadero 125. Most say its a tall bike, but for me its just right. Knowing how a bike suits those of us who live without a height deficiency is very helpful
i bought the GSXR version of this bike, and i gotta say i'm really impressed with myself so far. dunno why he was only able to get it up 65mph, i've managed to get 75 -76 mph outta mine on a A class road, now bear in mind my fat arse weighs around 18 stone and on top of that i have to carry all my chains and locks in my backpack, i reckon if i didnt need to carry my backpack chains and locks i could easily get this upto 80mph.
i remember reading a article in mcn last year and the basic jist seemed to be the new 250s will be budget A2 bikes that are only competitive on price and the new 125s will be going in at the top end of the 125 market trying to compete on that front. so im not surprised hes impressed
I bought my Suzuki address from haslemere, great dealer. I am considering buying the gsxs125 but it’s scary money for a bike I may only use for a year or two until I pass my test.
I was wondering if you’ve ever ridden a lexmoto venom I can see you don’t have a video but I wasn’t sure if you have but you didn’t film. If so what did you think?
Hey Spicy! If you're looking for a Big bike feel, You should check out the new Honda CB125R. I've just got one of these and I can honestly say, It's the closest thing a 125 owner can get to having a 300cc bike. Wide rear tyre, all the mod cons of the bigger bikes, awesome sounding stock exhaust and a bunch of others! I was going to wait for the Suzuki gsx 125 But when I saw the Hondas new baby, I just had too! It gets ALOT of appeal, And should you somehow 'lose' your L plates. That rear tyre doesn't give it away that you're on a small capacity bike Keep up the great videos too man! been subscribed for well over 3 years now and still loving your content!
If you mean higher then a 125, then Yes, I own a CBR250R which is my Weekend bike. I commute on a 125 out of the fact they are fantastic in scooting through the heavy fields of traffic I contend with on a daily basis. Anything higher? nope! So my experience of high capacity bikes is limited! Probably a bad comparison to be fair. However, I stand by my opinion. The new CB125 handles in a very similar way to my 250. It uses the same size frame, wheels and tyres as its 300cc sister, Just the smaller engine!
that new honda CB125R isn't 15hp though so not as good as the yamaha mt or duke 125 in my opinion and i personally don't like the circle front headlight on that new honda.
You really need to review the Sinnis Apache SMR. its basically the high-end sinnis apache. built from the ground up with new trellis frame, new bodywork, and fuel injected. had a look the other week and it looks fucking amazing. proper supermoto!
It wants sold in the UK. I don't have the pic anymore but it was the same top to bottom but they may have updated it to euro 4. I did post it on social media months ago
Ah, right. anyways, it looks cool and the build quuality seems good. i still think you should test one if you get the oppurtunity as even if its a different made, its still loosely based off the QM125GY so it should give an interesting comparison.
Running-In is not a "myth" if you want to (a) retain your warranty and (b) prolong the life of the engine. It IS a myth that you can thrash the hell out of a brand new engine and achieve (a) + (b); the difference now, in the present day, is that you wont see visible damage if you do thrash a new engine eg: oil leaks, cracked casings etc etc.
@@spicy110 the answer is in your statement. By the way, this is what Suzuki actually does....... "...... it takes about 90 minutes to assemble a complete engine. Once the engine is complete, oil is added and it moves to a machine that spins the engine at about 1,000 rpm through the countershaft. This works all of the internal components and circulates the oil, while at the same time a worker inspects the engine for leaks. The engine is then put into a special crate and delivered to the assembly plant......" The engine is then placed under a Manufacturers Warranty. So its hardly the same as the thrashing of a new motorcycle engine for You Tube ratings.
The Capacitor I got mine for £2300 brand new. There good but you will get bored of the power but I suppose you would get bored of any 125. If you got the money get a loud exhaust sounds great lots of people say they thought it was a 500 😀
I have 1 on 1200mils now and i can say myn will hit 80 no problem its a 2023 and must be restrictid in 6 gear as would hit limmiter like in 5th it gets to 87 then cuts off the revs n drops off till 83 then back up . Wich bugs the life out of me other then that handles well rides well and is ment to be one of the fastest u can buy i ride it a bit hard and it allways gives 92 mpg if ride nice gives 110mpg ..
They should bring those to the us market. I'm not a huge Suzuki fan, but I think Suzuki could capture the 125 market. This bike would compete with the z125 and Grom much better than the VanVan 200. Neat that it has 6 gears too.
How does the motorcycle license work in the US? In the UK we have a weird progressive license system that restricts us to certain bikes until we get a full license (CBT/a1: 125cc, a2: 500cc/47hp max, a: full license). It's also age restricted, you can't do your full a license until you're 24, and can only ride up to a 125 if you're younger than 19. Because of this, 125s are really popular obviously for the younger motorcyclists.
A bit of a gushing review, Suzuki do make some nice bikes and usually well nailed together, My Vl 125 I got when it was 6 months old had a very smooth gearbox and that was 18+ years ago, but I know what you mean with the klunk and thud sloppy boxes
When you said you turned down the opportunity to attend the press release for this bike by Suzuki, I fully understand you reasons for not going, cost, time as well of course, but these events are just as much about networking and talking to people as it is the corporate thing. You never know when the next opportunity will come from.. just saying ;)
The 150 isn't sold here but would I say going on the India price it isn't the same bike. In India the 150 is 1,20000 inr the 125 in the UK is 366,146.00 inr that can not be built to the same spec
Most are 11 kw, some are a bit less, but Suzuki,Kawa,Honda and Yamaha all make 11 kw, difference in weight is small, but this Suzuki is the lightest of all at 133 kg wet.. Others are around 145 kg wet. SO thats the only difference

This Is a FAR CRY from my RD LC 125 MK 2 YEIDS this was the early YPVS/YAMAHA POWER VALVE SYSTEM 2 stroke and consisted of a boost bottle expansion tank that recirculated unburnt/belched petrol from the carbs(Yamaha energy induction system) and I had no trouble overtaking any car travelling at 70mph one up or two up and travelled at 80mph on my own at any day of the week. It is about time ABS was employed to all learner bikes as this, in my opinion, is where this technology should be implemented and for the love of GOD why is there an anti-wheelie gizmo on the latest CBR 1000RR I GIVE UP. If anybody can defend or explain the anti-wheelie gizmo on the latest bikes, BMW included, please feel free to leave me a message as I would love to know:)

But if break ins are a myth then why do manufacturers reccomend them? Surly it's to cover their asses. But then it must be based on something. Only logical reason i can think would be that they're simply stuck in the past. I wonder where engineers stand on this issue
Basically there is a few reasons but one yes it's a left over from the past when tolerances were not as good. (Keeping in mind every engine will be bench tested so run to high revs for a while before you buy it) also legal issues if they tell someone to just go for it yer the engine might be fine but brakes and tyres etc aren't scrubbed in people might try to blame them for a crash.
I always thought that whomever made your licensing laws must not be a rider themselves. I would ride a 125 but to be honest i find them riskier on the road than the bikes 200 to 400cc range because you can’t get out of anyones way if you have to be on the highway. They would have been better off having a bit more motor with a governer for newer riders so you can pass just slightly better or even just not have newer riders go on faster highways with a 125 because a small bike on a congested highway can be terrifying to a new rider. Decades ago i started on a 125 but I have rural slower highways so it wasnt as big of a deal. But i never would have tried a freeway on it purposedly
I like small bikes, I am just saying your laws seem to be designed by people that don’t actually ride so they dont get that a 125 can almost be more dangerous in certain areas than just a slightly bigger bike (even a 150 would help a lot, but a 200 to 250 cc would have been a lot more logical safety wise)

I have a 150 version. this bike is equal with my 110cc moped (carb) for fuel consumption, very impressive and fun to ride.
Are you 6'4" spicy? Never would have known
he's mentioned it once or twice xD
Haha I always mention it in these videos are they are viewed a lot by non subs
spicy110 I've been watching a lot of your reviews lately and you gotta fill in the non subs haha. Plus being a tall guy myself it does help to know if a bike is suitable for taller people.
True, I ride a varadero 125. Most say its a tall bike, but for me its just right. Knowing how a bike suits those of us who live without a height deficiency is very helpful
Jacob Kearton How are you finding the varadero and what’s your height mate? I’ve been looking at the Varadero’s just wondering
i bought the GSXR version of this bike, and i gotta say i'm really impressed with myself so far. dunno why he was only able to get it up 65mph, i've managed to get 75 -76 mph outta mine on a A class road, now bear in mind my fat arse weighs around 18 stone and on top of that i have to carry all my chains and locks in my backpack, i reckon if i didnt need to carry my backpack chains and locks i could easily get this upto 80mph.
Be surprised how much of a difference an aero fairing makes
There's a difference between a full fairing bike. And a naked. I guarantee your fat ass doesn't even make 80🤣🤣
i remember reading a article in mcn last year and the basic jist seemed to be the new 250s will be budget A2 bikes that are only competitive on price and the new 125s will be going in at the top end of the 125 market trying to compete on that front. so im not surprised hes impressed
imagine how awesome it is for somebody half your size and weight
I'm jealous of all short people 😂 I even made a video on it called the curse of hight! 😂
I'm 5'7 ~ 170cm, will this fit me? Regards
@@gustafabrahamsson4251 yeah it will chief
Been waiting all day for this vid
I bought my Suzuki address from haslemere, great dealer. I am considering buying the gsxs125 but it’s scary money for a bike I may only use for a year or two until I pass my test.
your a tight smooth unit, beef!
can a 5ft3 dude ride this bike with both of his feet down?
Yeah , but not perfectly , your feet won't be flat on the ground . It's really light though so you'll be fine
I was wondering if you’ve ever ridden a lexmoto venom I can see you don’t have a video but I wasn’t sure if you have but you didn’t film. If so what did you think?
i have this bike and iff you go down 1 or 2 gears it wil go faster 4 gear can go 70 or more its a powerful bike to be 125
would you recommend this or the KTM duke? They will both be the same price. The duke is from 2016, the gsx is 2019.. which one would you buy?
I’d love to see the new Sinnis Apaches reviewed, I know you can’t just pick a bike and get it but I would like to see it👍🏼
That rear tyre doesn't give it away that you're on a small capacity bike
Keep up the great videos too man! been subscribed for well over 3 years now and still loving your content!
Can I just ask...have you ridden a larger cc bike?
Hi Spicy, i am also from the UK, just wondering where abouts your from?? :) love the videos btw..
Did you ride the bike or the bike ride spicy
Looks like a decent bike
You really need to review the Sinnis Apache SMR. its basically the high-end sinnis apache. built from the ground up with new trellis frame, new bodywork, and fuel injected. had a look the other week and it looks fucking amazing. proper supermoto!
It's a rebadged bike from 2015
which bike? the only thing thats the same is the engine.
Aden Lamb
it's better now than when he had it which is why he changed so much on it
Do you know how this bike compares to the cb125r, stuck between the two. Also great review!
are you in denmark
England.
@@spicy110 ok
Surprised you didn't get to 70, mine always climbs to 75 easily and then up to 85 if I push it. You fully rev all the gears though.
It was still being run in. Itll free up more when it covers more mileage
Can you do gsxr 125 cc
Same bike, different handlebars
Spicy, if possible could you do a ride review of the AJS Tempest Scrambler. I want to hear your opinion on the bike I ride.
Ok so what about the the 8 odd mins of redline they run the engine at on the test bench before it's fitted in a bike?
@@spicy110 the answer is in your statement.
By the way, this is what Suzuki actually does.......
"...... it takes about 90 minutes to assemble a complete engine. Once the engine is complete, oil is added and it moves to a machine that spins the engine at about 1,000 rpm through the countershaft. This works all of the internal components and circulates the oil, while at the same time a worker inspects the engine for leaks. The engine is then put into a special crate and delivered to the assembly plant......"
The engine is then placed under a Manufacturers Warranty. So its hardly the same as the thrashing of a new motorcycle engine for You Tube ratings.
I noticed the dragonfly isn't on the etsy store did it sell?
Indeed it has 👍
spicy110 well done , some much needed monies even if it was worth more but still getting your name out there.
Broke in by spicey must be worth the full 4k now 👌
4.2k
3.2k at the moment
he;s the reason why im buying a honda next month.thrash thrash.
What actually is the point in that one touch start button? Literally saves like half a second!
I have said this before on the bigger suzukis with it haha
Is it better than the Honda CB125F?
Miles better
Hey spicy
What do you think of me doing the a2 license and what bikes would you recommend have done a video On this
Now, the real question is the GSX-S 125 or Duke 125? (or GSXR125 vs RC125?)
Mako_FN7 gsx ..more cheap
Gsx is much faster and it cost less than duke
Suzuki. The ktms are unreliable lol
Have you tried the Honda CB125F? Was wondering if it was worth getting as a first bike.
The Capacitor I have one there good got a scorpion exhaust on mine sounds great
I got a new one two weeks ago and it is a really good bike for the cost. £2490 brand new having just passed my CBT it was worth it in my opinion.
Sweet :D
The Capacitor I got mine for £2300 brand new. There good but you will get bored of the power but I suppose you would get bored of any 125. If you got the money get a loud exhaust sounds great lots of people say they thought it was a 500 😀
I've got the last CBF125 before it become the CB125F and I'd say if it's anything similar then 100% it is a great starter.
Does it have a fuel gauge ?
yes that vertical bar on the right of the screen.
I'm trying to decide on this bike or svartpilen125. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Nice one!
is it not the same engine thats in the Chinese bikes?
That is an extremely board question.
with the duke and the MT, i think this one is in the top 5 of 125cc
Yea, but this gsx is faster than duke
@@zoiraay954 it's faster than all 125 4 strokes.
Is there any chance you could do a review of the new 2018 Honda CB125R, that would be great. Thanks!
As you’ve ridden this then surly you need to try the mt 125?
William Rayner
don't think he has reviewed any yamaha or hondas
@@ANDY1985UK2011 he has. Just not 125s lol
Did that man at the start ride away on Divvie?
Edit: Hadn't watched up to the point where you mentioned it was yours!
9:14 - that's what she said.
How tall are u?
6ft 4in
They should bring those to the us market. I'm not a huge Suzuki fan, but I think Suzuki could capture the 125 market. This bike would compete with the z125 and Grom much better than the VanVan 200. Neat that it has 6 gears too.
TheKeterScout wubber froot
I like 125s (used to own a cbr125) but small bikes do not sell well in the NA market.
TheKeterScout i wish here in europe we can still get the vanvan 200 or even the 125
A bit of a gushing review, Suzuki do make some nice bikes and usually well nailed together, My Vl 125 I got when it was 6 months old had a very smooth gearbox and that was 18+ years ago, but I know what you mean with the klunk and thud sloppy boxes
Mrflash222006
yeah gushing to the point that you know suzuki are paying him to say good things about it lol
I wish it will lunch in Nepal soon
When you said you turned down the opportunity to attend the press release for this bike by Suzuki, I fully understand you reasons for not going, cost, time as well of course, but these events are just as much about networking and talking to people as it is the corporate thing. You never know when the next opportunity will come from.. just saying ;)
Yea that's exactly what I was thinking, it would've been a great opportunity to get a foot in the door.
i've recently bought my first bike
Cirosa congrats 🎉
Cirosa what is it
it's a sinnis cruisestar
How much is it tho
I got the 150cc version and it is literally pain in the ass.
The 150 isn't sold here but would I say going on the India price it isn't the same bike. In India the 150 is 1,20000 inr the 125 in the UK is 366,146.00 inr that can not be built to the same spec
spicy110 i think he come from indonesia not india hehe
Is this most powerfull 125cc 4T ?
Most are 11 kw, some are a bit less, but Suzuki,Kawa,Honda and Yamaha all make 11 kw, difference in weight is small, but this Suzuki is the lightest of all at 133 kg wet.. Others are around 145 kg wet. SO thats the only difference
It's the fastest in top speed and acceleration
milage?
Of what?

I feel like my 125 (Derbi Mulhacen 125 (has gpr 125 4T engine)) has more power than this from this video (Eg: 7:57) and Im not exactly a small guy (14 stone). Probably just because you were being conservative though for the break-in.
I really like the digital dash display thingy :D ya cant beat a digital display :D
I currently have the KTM RC 125, trust me, you can beat a digital disply
QUANO-MAN analogue all the way. You can't beat watching that needle rise. One into the red the other into treble figures. The white faced clocks on my slabby are things of sexual beauty 😍😎
it is until the crystels die.
Is it good for a 6’4 person
I am 6-foot 4 I think I mentioned in the video so whatever I say about comfort that's what the answer is.
spicy110 cool beans cheers mate
What I don’t like is that this comes with skinny tires and the whole profile of a commuter , it looks so anorexic , I’m now deciding between a cb125r and this one .
And so, which one did you finally choose ? I'm hesitating for the same reason as well !
Djodj Channel I got fooled by an english fucker who was looking to make money so I ended up with a a neglected supermoto I had to bring back to life . Both are great , CBR is a hard working horse from honda and this suzuki is amazing as well , heard nothing but good about it , decent top speed , comfy ride , nice design , its up to what appeals to you in terms of design
@@NextKnown Thank you for your answer. I really appreciate. I need to test both !
Djodj Channel No problem , and good idea ! The best way to decided is to simply hop on them.

Mileage plss bro
Mileage of what?
Bike milege bro
It's a demo bike for reviews so not many, less than 1000.
If anybody can defend or explain the anti-wheelie gizmo on the latest bikes, BMW included, please feel free to leave me a message as I would love to know:)

omg i love your voice
✊👊💨💨💨💨💨👍
4 Grand, pass!
2.2 grand in australia, its the 125 learner tax in europe
James Oren I am in Australia and looking to buy this bike, where did you get that price? Thanks
Cheap ass🤣
Jonathan Bauer
they think that more power causes the accidents but in reality it's either cars and lorries or risky riding
125's have had 6 gears for generations, nothing new
Not that many compared to 5 speeds.
I'd be happier and safer on a 250cc
Not on a cbt you won't haha that's the point of it.
You'd also need an A2 license, unless you don't live in Europe that is
I might have had a cbt 35yrs ago if they were available
Jay B doubt it as they were introduced in 1990!
I was joking
