    To me, this is what the fun of motorcycling is all about. Not necessarily having a really fast and powerful bike, but the fun of riding, especially in a group. I can have just as much fun, or even more possibly, on a little fun bike, as on a big, powerful sports bike. My last motorcycle was a GSX-R600, but my next motorbike will probably be a GSX150, the equivalent in my market of this GSX-S125. Small, light, flickable, great for commuting, cheap on fuel, simple...

    The Ignition blanking plate to protect the key slot on the ignition slot is not to be scoffed at, and is about time too and how about beefing up the bloody pathetic steering lock folks as learner bikes thefts push up our premiums, but in this day and age why can`t you just use your mobile phone integrated into the ECU to identify yourself and start the engine? (my voice is my password, is a prime example, sorry to get all techno)
    ps, I am working on just such a system where you text/speak into your phone and this then command your bike to opens the ignition system a bit like an immobilizer and also allows you to track your bike in theft a bit like locating your device, the device is your bike:) I have nearly perfected this box of tricks and I will let you know when it will be ready for launch!!(If intrested please contact me for a demo)
    Mr lamb chop is this bike any different in power or handling from the Suzuki GS 125 we rode in our day. I argue this has more body panels to be damaged/destroyed by the present generation/our kids than in our truly naked commuter bikes days(Honda CG/YAM RSX 125, also and I don`t want to go into DAD mode but why would you buy this bike over a full on race rep as I see it it`s A middle ground bike or is this SUZUKI`S intentions I wonder?

    I've finally got myself one of these, watched this abbot 6 years ago and it became my dream bike, Ive had a Honda Vision 110 for 8 years and OMG this was so much fun riding 100 miles home from the New Forrest, Im on my 6th CBT but this is definitely a HUGE step up! I comfortable did 82 mph! I'm so happy :) I slightly overpaid but had to get the 2018 as I love design
    Edit: The speedo said 82 but the Mrs was following me in the car and said she had 68 on cruise control so clock mayebe a bit out

    Couldnt recommend this bike enough, i use it daily to and from work. such a joy to ride. easy to ride on the limit of the bike, ABS is completely non intrusive. nice and narrow for filtering and enough bite off the line to get in front of almost anything. only downside i found is neutral / second can be a bit tricky. had it drop out of second into neutral a few times, just needs a good positive change.

    • @ukfalcon3605
      @ukfalcon3605 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@karlbrennan1012 Absolutely, sporty enough to be fun and super simple to ride. I haven’t gotten myself into trouble once on it riding through all kinds of weather, the Dunlop tyres it comes with grip really well even in super wet conditions. I started riding again after a 10-year break on a Keeway TX which i found really harsh to ride, as with most of the Chinese imports they're very difficult to stop safely in anything but dry conditions. It has great balance and enough power to keep you out of trouble.

    • @culturedsquid8442
      @culturedsquid8442 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@karlbrennan1012 Yeap , get it , it's easy to start , it doesn't stall , it's very beginner friendly , it has more torque than you'd think , the brakes are fantastic , the tires do their job well , it handles perfectly , and it's good with fuel consumption . Like ... really good . Plus with it being a suzuki I imagine selling it won't be hard since it already has a reputation for reliability and judging from stuff like build quality and stuff. Yeap it'll be perfectly happy for years .

    a bunch of people in Taiwan have been ordering the 150 version of R and S,
    and tentatively waitng for their bikes to arrive.

    • @boogiedownbronx73
      @boogiedownbronx73 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the problem is with 150 cc is that if you do not have your license yet you cannot drive on the highway in most countries in Europe. You could always tuneup a 125cc and just hope you not getting caught by the police. But in Europe very few countries allow 125cc on the highway unfortunately. Taiwan is a motorcycle/scooter country almost everyone has some type of motor to ride on...also police is not so strict especially outside Taipei.

      I live in turkey cb125f price 14.400 TL

      Reptilian Overlord they come limited to 14.6 hp or something like that and then you have to put a 34mm carb, and powervalve on it and usually a decent exhaust, normally you do a lot more than that but that should get you to 95-100 ish and 0-60 in maybe 6.5s and if I'm correct a yzf125 which will be the same gsxr it will do about 75ish and 0-60 in about 15 seconds? So there is no point in 4stroke 125 super sport bikes?

      @willsherriff3711 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! These are really cheap here in Australia (learners are restricted to 660cc, so not much demand for 125's), I'm really thinking of getting the S version for commuting. I was toying with the idea of a Grom, because they're so popular, but these are so cheap and look so much fun, and much better at lane splitting than my tiger. Here the S version is 2,200 of your british pounds on the road so seems like a no brainer!

      Lol cheers for not converting the currency for me, it's fine I learnt about Krone!
      Holy crap though! that's $8k aussie - literally twice the price. Does that include on the road and registration costs & is the high cost because of its engine? I know you guys lead the world in electric vehicles and are quite progressive about getting rid of fossil fuel cars, etc?
      25,000kr is pretty standard for non-basic 125's here - a Grom, these Suzuki's, even a Yamaha R15 are all about the same price. Actually I suspect the R15 will essentially kill the GSX-R125 here before it even gets a look in. There's no reason I could see that you'd buy the 125cc suzuki over the 150cc yamaha at the same price if you want a little supersport - they should have imported the GSX-R150 to compete really. The GSX-S125 however has a good chance because there's nothing quite like it here; a comfortable commuter 125 with a ultra light weight and a mini supersport engine; I think that'll have a decent market in the cities.
      Out of interest, I had a look what 50,000 krone would get you in Aussie in terms of a brand new bike, probably the best would be a Ninja 400. It's a little less here - including taxes, registration etc, a Ninja 400 is about 46,500Kr on the road (the list price pre-tax, etc. is 40,000kr).
      This is honestly the only time I've found Australia isn't the most expensive at something lol. Still though, your country's amazing! If I could remotely handle your winter's, and afford bikes, I'd wanna live there!

    • @gublo4320

      Why not straight 150cc or 250cc

    • @xX12VincEXx
      @xX12VincEXx 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Markus HmW Because for example in Germany (where I live) there's a License (called A1).
      You can have this at an age of 16. You restricted at max. 125ccm and 15HP
      With an age of 18, you can make the A2-licence (max. 48HP)
      After 2 years of A2 or at an age of 24 you can make the A2-licence (you can ride every motorcycle)
      -------------------
      In Germany/Europe there's no Market for 150ccm Motorcycles and and because of the new regulations 2013 (48hp on A2, no longer only 34hp) 250ccm were almost completely gone on the new market for streetbikes
      They have to much power for A1 and to low power for A2 (why buy a 250ccm if you can buy a 300ccm/500ccm?)
      -----------
      150ccm were popular in Asia especially in India, because there small, have enough power and where cheaper than bigger bikes. And there's a huge market for that.
