It seems to be the recurring theme this year. I’ve some genuinely stunning boxes from a number of brands across different genres, but universally filled with tat. Box designers are really going above and beyond. But clearly the budget is going on them leaving very little for sensible contents in most calendars. If I had the money for a calendar I’d spend it instead (well actually I’d spend it on heating 🙀🤦🏼♀️) on things I’d like to receive in a calendar, rather than trying to buy one and risk getting a load of tat. As it is I am just enjoying all the unboxing videos and remembering why I don’t need to buy them. Love the gimmick on this one of the box opening sound effect. Nice!
They effed up as soon as they described it was "luxury" 😭💀 definitely wouldn't say it was worth the money! The coolest part was the sound when you opened it 😭
@ probably, and I’m sure that’s why they haven’t done it. As a preference I would want a single theme but understand from a business perspective why it wouldn’t work. 🙂
That’s a great point - the phrasing was “combines fandom with luxury.” I think Bridgerton was the “luxury” and everything else was the typical “fandom.”
I wouldn’t really agree. None of it felt luxurious except for the spoon (and even that’s a stretch because teaspoons aren’t expensive). An acrylic bookmark and a tiny journal don’t scream luxury, they’re cool but still a bit meh. They shouldn’t have called it luxury, but £100 for the stuff in it and the cool box is actually quite reasonable considering they need to make a profit on them too. A regular chocolate advent calendar costs around £5-£10 so £100 for branded items isn’t really that bad.
@@21cormorants 🤣🤣 The Bridgerton stuff was the coolest stuff for sure, and I’ve not even seen that show yet. They also had some odd choices… like why would they use Rebel Moon instead of Emily In Paris? Or One Piece instead of YOU? There’s been much more successful movies and shows than the ones they included, which makes me think it’s leftover things they haven’t been able to sell, rather than stuff made specifically for the calendar?🤷🏻
@ the bookmark was weird, though, for Bridgerton, in that… Without the logo… would anyone ever make the connection? 😅 It’s just flowers? I’ve never heard of Rebel Moon, but I do know Emily in Paris had some people up in arms. As for One Piece, since it has a huge following for the anime, I figured they were trying to ride that group of fans. Apart from the price. Oof, the price… 😓
I agree, I like advent calendar 'gifts' that are relevant to the theme of the box but also have a purpose. Unless you're a kid and a superfan, a lot of things in this box will end up in the bin. The Witcher pen was really cool, though. I thought the rest of the items from the show were a waste.
I wish they had made just a Bridgerton advent calendar! The packaging and quality of those three items in this calendar were definitely the best of the bunch. I think it would've sold well too- instead of hoping that Netflix fans love seven very different shows in one package.
Right? Imagine the goodies you could put in there. You could put tea’s, quills and ink, brooches, hair curlers, mini perfumes, silk pillowcases, all sorts :)
And it will cost probably more than 100, as I think Bridgerton, the Witcher and possibly the Outer Banks used most of the budget left after the creation of the box 😊
I’ve never seen the show, but I genuinely think all the Outer Banks ones were fairly good quality. I also thought the pen from the Witcher was decent as well. But those random blind bags seemed so cheap and made it look like such a rip off.
honestly ill give them props for making every single item accurate to the shows and what most fans of said shows would collect, i know its not for everyone but i loved all items of the shows i watched cause it fit the shows so well, are some items a bit cheaply made? yes they could have done better 100% and they could have bumped down the price but i find all items in this to be extremely accurate to the shows it represents, honestly not that bad
I still think it’s better than last year’s Swarovski calendar 😂 I love the items but not at this price point. It also made me realize how much I would adore a whole Bridgerton advent calendar!
So many other options they had to choose from that I'm pretty sure are well-known even if you haven't seen them: The Crown, Anne With an E, Love is Blind, Umbrella Academy, Orange is the New Black, Series of Unfortunate Events, Queen's Gambit, Daredevil, Ozark, House of Cards, My Life With the Walter Boys, WEDNESDAY, Emily in Paris, The Empress, The Gentlemen. Even an ornament of some of them, if they didn't have some fun item they could associate, but I could read a synopsis of each of those and come up with one really nice/neat item they could have done for each. They wasted so much potential.
Lockwood and Co would've been a really cool one. It has a kind of ghostly theme so like a miniature ghost in a jar would've been really cool but its understandable why it's not in there cause it's one of their smaller ips and it was cancelled. The show's really good though
I think now lots of us want a Bridgerton advent calendar ! For the Luxury part, I think only Bridgerton could fit into that category, so the rest worked well for the shows/movies I think. Even if some things like stickers, patches, cards are not super exciting, I liked the packaging and the art. Not worth 100£ but I think they kinda nailed it. But I think it's a calendar to share, not many people will be super fan of all shows and interested in the different aesthetics. Thanks for this unboxing !
the price definitely isn’t just based on what you got in the box it’s also the box, the design and even sound affect definitely makes it all worth the price
what this tells me is that each of these shows need their own advent calenders. The show items in both themeing, quality and type of are consistent with themselves but not across all shows in the calendar. An all bridgerton box, an all one piece box and an all squidgames box couldn't have been more expensive but I think would just be better.
I feel like each piece actually matches the price amount and the show it represents really well. Like for example One Piece the characters would love the flag, and for Stranger things, we could definitely see the kids in that show wanting to collect that style of bobble head.
But then who is this calendar for? Unless you buy it for a family. A kid getting excited about a flag and bobble heads aren’t going to appreciate a teaspoon in the same way a Bridgerton fan would. Probs would have been better to make show specific calendars.
@ Of course! And there’s nothing wrong with that (I have plenty of Sailor Moon collectables)! Just meant that someone interested in a collectible Bridgerton spoon probably won’t care for a One Piece flag and vice versa.
I didn't see it in the comments, but: the Stranger Things demogorgon acrylic thing is what you'd call an acrylic stand. They're quite common with anime/manga-type things and/or other fandoms.
I think I agree with everything you said Cherry. My husband and I were extremely intrigued by a streaming service advent. It could have been a game changer. The box was an awesome idea and the spoon in door one was cool. I think that set it up for high expectations that just flopped after that. I don’t want to find anything I could win from a 2p machine at the arcades. The pen was the only other thing I liked. Nothing in there made me want to watch the shows I haven’t seen yet. Stranger things has so much they could have done as one of a kind merch. Such a shame they didn’t include maybe a month free subscription to gift someone who hasn’t watched Netflix before with the calendar introducing its shows, including upcoming shows for early next year.
I actually kind of like this calendar. Quite a few items look so in-universe for the shows that you could imagine one of the characters actually using it. Plus there are enough utilitarian items, and they don't overlap, so you could potentially use all of them in your day-to-day life. Mind you, I don't know if it's worth the price tag.
I quite liked the calendar over all, to be honest! As a fan of One Piece, Squid Game and Stranger Things, I feel like the gifts from the series will be enjoyable for fellow fans of these specific franchises. I adore the postcards, figurines, the plushie keychain, earring, etc. - It's actually a good thing that there were multiple figurines, as they look better when they're sort of a "set". Thanks for going through this one, I think I might get it for myself!
I feel like a year is definitely not long enough. I’m not sure if you’re aware but Netflix is used by MILLIONS. It’s simply not possible to give that to every subscriber that has been subscribed for a year.

They could've done so much more for the One Piece items 😭. It really was giving cheap LOL. And you were spot on about the keychain being a fruit!! Those fruits give the characters a specific super power and are very iconic! This advent calender could've been so much more but it really wasn't 😭 lol
One thing you have to remember and you said it at the end is that in your opinion. Honestly value is there it's just not what you were expecting. Price wise in the USA £100 is about $130. The price is actually about how much if it was all sold retail.
Ya they DEFINITELY should have included far more shows. Can you imagine an ALL Bridgerton ADVENT? Now that would sell if they choose to add things like they did in this one. The Bridgetron stuff was BY FAR the best!
I feel like the companies that make these mark the price up so much solely because of the boxes and packaging, and just RIP YOU OFF with the actual contents inside. I’ve seen so many advent calendar unboxings from so many different companies and only like 2 were good. Definitely will never purchase one myself but I do like to watch the videos lol
Super excited for 2024 advent calendar series!! I actually really liked this Netflix calendar. Would I pay $100? No, but for someone who watches all of these shows it would be an absolute gem ❤❤❤
Honestly I think I would have been better if they had came out with a variety of advent calendars base on the different categories, like they could have ones based on their romance drama shows, one based off their fantasy action shows, one based off their comedy shows etc. That way you’re more likely to be familiar with the shows in the calendar because you’re picking stuff from genres you like
Down here in Australia, some of us might call this a show bag and a lot of the advent calendars fit that idea. Traditional show bags were free samples of the products it was flogging to the consumer. Later show bags cost a pretty penny for things that used to be free. See where I’m going with the comparison.
It started off so well, the Bridgerton items and the Witcher pen were nice. I went onto the Netflix merch shop and it explained the calendar price. My fav advent calendar unboxing! ❤
First of all, did not know that Netflix made up in calendars? Second of all, that opening of the box! Pure heaven! And third, thank you for making this video.🤯😍😍😍😳
Subscribed to your channel because I am a massive HP fan, but not gonna lie, this has become one of my fave times of the year on this channel. Whoop .... Happy Novemeber Witches and Wizards and Muggles :)
I know these seem a bit underwhelming, but daaamn this is way better than the advent calendars I've seen unboxings of that are multiple hundreds of dollars. Still not great but better haha
My partner and I were just talking about advent calendar shopping the other day for the kids since it is close to the season. SO EXCITED for the videos to come out!!!
I'm a One Piece fan but most of the advent seems like and advert for the upcoming seasons of some of the shows. I do love the Silver Spoon for Bridgerton LOL
The fact that Cherry can use magic without the help of her wand really says and shows you how powerful of a witch she is. So don’t tread on her. Gryffindor has yet another power witch or wizard in their house. 😁🤯
They needed to, at the very least, offer genre-based boxes. I personally would not have liked any of the things in the box, but I would have kept the stuff from Bridgestone and some of the Outer Bound stuff. The rest would have been offered up as freebies. But that’s b/c I would never been tempted to watch shows from the other genres
Love that you are doing calendar season! Thanks for showing us this generic calendar, the sound effect was so promising. But they chose the most basic items. Bridgerton items were the best.
Couldnt resist it. I went on line to check prices. think you wouls be surprised . Some are cheep yes. But when added up its more than you paid. So shocked that people will pay for some of these as collectables. Hense some are £6.99 ...£9.99. Soon adds up. The sord i had difficulty finding the one you show. So huge range of prices differences. Checkingout you videos now... thank you..
Netflix shows I love but missing from this calendar. The Last Kingdom, The Crown, Kingdom, All of Us Are Dead, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Castlevania, The Umbrella Academy, The OA, Shadow and Bone, Locke and Key. I'm sure I'm forgetting some.
I agree with your comment , but I have always thought that with advent calendars , that first thing is that you are is promised a calendar that has a bigger value cost wise than what you pay for , because they buy wholesale and they get it way cheaper, plus it is like a thank you to their customers for buying their products, secondly take the stickers there probably less than a £1's value, it all seems like this is over stock or maybe it is products that are not selling as fast so let's dump it in a calendar, lastly I expect it to be evened out a few days where there are cheaper products and some with a higher value, which would be great , but this calendar over all i s disappointing none of it seems like high value and is certainly not a almost £100 pound calendar so dissapointing
I was hoping for Gilmore Girls. I’ve only seen Squid Games out of these. They could’ve done You. The sound effect was the best part. Most of the wings in there were so cheap to make. That calendar could’ve been like $50 Also, it’s funny you mentioned the DVDs because when I saw Netflix Advent calendar I was like “wait are these going to be DVDs?” 😂
i love box and the presentation, but they definitely shouldve had more than 6 shows. there’s so many popular netflix originals!! some of them were luxury but a lot of the stranger things and one piece ones seemed like stuff you’d find at comic cons. still more worth the cost than the disney swavorski one though 😂 if i liked all the shows in it i’d probably shill out the money for it.

I was not expecting Mariah Cherry at the start! 😂😂 Advent Calendar unboxings are always the best time of year 😊
They could've done so much more for the One Piece items 😭. It really was giving cheap LOL. And you were spot on about the keychain being a fruit!! Those fruits give the characters a specific super power and are very iconic! This advent calender could've been so much more but it really wasn't 😭 lol
I was disappointed that there was no figure for OP
One thing you have to remember and you said it at the end is that in your opinion. Honestly value is there it's just not what you were expecting.
Price wise in the USA £100 is about $130. The price is actually about how much if it was all sold retail.
Exactly ‼️ it’s not what she wanted. The items were cool that being it’s a calendar 😅‼️
14:57 its called a devil fruit and MC did eat it and got powers from it
Ya they DEFINITELY should have included far more shows.
That way you’re more likely to be familiar with the shows in the calendar because you’re picking stuff from genres you like
I absolutely love how honest you are, while still staying upbeat about it. :) My fave month on your channel! 🥳
£100 gone. Flag, a pen, coaster, bottle opener, key chains and toys received. If it ain’t daylight rubbery I don’t know what is.
It's ok to save the items only if you're a big fan of Netflix.
@ I get that but you could definitely find individual items cheaper that’ll be better than random key holders and bottle openers.
Just an FYI, Rebel Moon is a 2-part movie (that also each has its own director's cuts)
The 2nd part fell off for me unfortunately 😂
7:50 Subsribe 😂😂
😂😂😂
Im so glad you mentioned it 😂
😂
OMG YESSSS, Advent Calendar 2024!!!! 😍 I've been looking forward to this! 🥰 I didn't miss a single video last year!!! 🤗🥰
The noise when you open the box was my favourite part of the advert calendar ☺️
Over priced for what you get, rather spend the money at the lost cauldron ❤
Why was day one a spoon
Eww who wants a golden spoon
Down here in Australia, some of us might call this a show bag and a lot of the advent calendars fit that idea. Traditional show bags were free samples of the products it was flogging to the consumer. Later show bags cost a pretty penny for things that used to be free. See where
I’m going with the comparison.
My favourite time of the year has begun - advent calendar season! 😍🎄
I actually kinda loved this calender 😅i think its cause im a fan of all these shows so maybe thats why i liked it ,tbh i would loved the calender😅
Same ‼️😅 the items made sense.
The packaging was the best bit. Honestly i would keep the photos
On the covers for scrap books.
$130 for this is INSANE
It started off so well, the Bridgerton items and the Witcher pen were nice. I went onto the Netflix merch shop and it explained the calendar price. My fav advent calendar unboxing! ❤
The acrylic stand artwork is a super popular thing in Japan!
First of all, did not know that Netflix made up in calendars? Second of all, that opening of the box! Pure heaven! And third, thank you for making this video.🤯😍😍😍😳
Exactly ‼️🙌💯
Subscribed to your channel because I am a massive HP fan, but not gonna lie, this has become one of my fave times of the year on this channel. Whoop .... Happy Novemeber Witches and Wizards and Muggles :)
11:59 “ if this is a coastah I’m gonna yeet this outta the window 😤
5:17 I’m pretty sure by the time you’re supposed to have the advent calendar, their will be a new season.
Just a note, people collect tea spoons so day one is actually really cute and fits the show :)
I'm a One Piece fan but most of the advent seems like and advert for the upcoming seasons of some of the shows. I do love the Silver Spoon for Bridgerton LOL
i agree that they should have done 24 different movies/tv series there are so many! i also think a description of show and item would have been nice
Be happy if they just made a bridgerton one
The fact that Cherry can use magic without the help of her wand really says and shows you how powerful of a witch she is. So don’t tread on her. Gryffindor has yet another power witch or wizard in their house. 😁🤯
So pants, would be so disappointed if I had spent my money on this. So excited for the rest of the series!! Xx
I usually don’t get into things like Bridgerton BUT the items that were included made me LOVE it! I love the elegance and classy items :)
They could have done so much with this. So much
IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS!! didmt miss a day last year, i LOVE this series
The purple fruit from the ONE PIECE items is a fruit that when you eat it you gain a power. 18:04 is a characters earring :)
It's my favorite time of the year, ppl opening advent calendars.
Love that you are doing calendar season! Thanks for showing us this generic calendar, the sound effect was so promising. But they chose the most basic items. Bridgerton items were the best.
This reminded me of the potions HP advent calendar - the box was the best part
2:31 with an intro like that it should have been drawers not the kind you rip open. That would have made it luxurious and a nice collectors item 😂
The bridgerton items and the witcher pen are the best items for sure im a one piece fan but i prefer the anime
agreed.
Witcher and bridgerton are nicee ❤ I wouldn’t mind a full one of either of those
Omg i didn’t know there was a Netflix calendar!!!
Checkingout you videos now... thank you..
Thank you friend….. so excited because of you! ❤ 1:25
november already, absolutely crazy how fast this year has flown by, 99 QUID for a calender is nuts, its cool though
I guess the trouble with a Netflix calendar is everyones show choices are different haha.
The Crown. Yes.
Locke and Key - amazing series, just rewatched again recently!
Yea I feel like it could have been 24 days of different tv shows. The sound effect was the best part
I mean, I don't expect luxury for £99, but each item should at least be worth £4-£5 to make it worth it.
They’ve done good with the material efforts consistently tbf! ❤ but yeah more shows or maybe different calendars available with different genre mixes
The one piece stuff was awesome
I love watching these videos. I can't wait till Cherry makes her own advent calendar.
"Next up is a show called Rebel Moon, sadly I've not watched that one either." Nothing sad about that. You lucky, lucky person.
Happy Halloween Cherry!! 🎃 👻 🍬 🍫 🍭 🍒 🕯 ❤
It’s Christmas
I can't believe it's been a year,feels like I watched your 2023 videos two weeks ago 😅😂
Love the Bridgerton items
Omg Cherry, "OK... Kinda sucks" (plastic stranger things thing) i BURST out laughing 😂😂
I was hoping for Gilmore Girls. I’ve only seen Squid Games out of these. They could’ve done You. The sound effect was the best part. Most of the wings in there were so cheap to make. That calendar could’ve been like $50
Also, it’s funny you mentioned the DVDs because when I saw Netflix Advent calendar I was like “wait are these going to be DVDs?” 😂
Gilmore Girls is not a Netflix Original😢
@ no but the Gilmore Girls A Year in the Life is
i love the bridgerton pieces bc thats the best show out of all of those. luxury? i think NOT!!! They dropped the ball on this
That one piece
Flag was awesome
i love box and the presentation, but they definitely shouldve had more than 6 shows. there’s so many popular netflix originals!!
some of them were luxury but a lot of the stranger things and one piece ones seemed like stuff you’d find at comic cons.
still more worth the cost than the disney swavorski one though 😂 if i liked all the shows in it i’d probably shill out the money for it.
Been here since your Harry Potter collection hauls!! Love your channel so much Cherry, it’s been amazing to see how far you’ve come x💕
I think everything in it was pretty nice!!! I thought there was a variety of things and I myself would like all the things within it!!
