Think I will have to agree with you cherry, I think they put the money into the box more than the items. At least you can use the box as a stationary storage box. I have a similar box but it's made out of wood and I keep art supply's in it
When I saw the box, and thought how nice it would be to have for my art supplies...lol it almost screams pochade. That is if it weren't made from cardboard.
This calendar would make me cry, if I bought it for myself. Lots of the stuff in here I could find at the dollar store. I am a Junk Journal person who ADORES pens, paper, etc.
@@stargirl7646there are a few companies that make subscription boxes with Japanese items in them that came out with advent calendars recently. DO NOT BUY. They are extremely expensive and not worth the money. Things you can get in gacha machines that cost 1¥ end up making up most of the days along with cheap candy. Never seen any specifically stationary ones but if they did that I think it’d be more bang for your buck from them, or at least very unique or cool items.
Whilst I agree, I think they would have put more thought into it I.e design. Just felt like run of the mill to me. For example yes the Martha Brooks one was still expensive but it did cost less and felt they put more design thought then this one. But that’s just me, I like beautifully design stuff and think design does also correlate with cost to a certain extent. Recently watching an art one, and 1 pen was over £399.49 and 1 pencil was over £279.64 (converted form USD) both were very basic 😅
Just wanted to say you are the best reviewer of advent calendars. You show us the packaging, you are careful with each item, and are honest about the actual value of the stuff. I could watch this serires forever!
As a stationery brand that has never done an advent calendar, I truly believe that a very large part of the expense in making them has got to be in the packaging. I am always fascinated by the intricate packaging and design of good advent calendars and how much those must cost to make. Because even the simplest packaging is costly.
Yes! I do advent calendars but I have to use gift wrap because packaging is expensive, specially on the low volume side. I could make the inner boxes myself but the material would not be the same, plus, it already takes me about an hour to make, let alone if I had to make boxes too. I did make a tiny advent that you can rip the doors, but it's too late to use it this year.
Honestly, the container and all the boxed has to be at least a third of not half the cost of the calender itself. Everything has to be packages ready for instagram and TikTok nowadays
still a bad excuse to charge $150 for almost nothing. They better off with bad package and good stuff then good package with awful stuff. So much package could be cut out like day 1 could just be in the box, the foil could be on the item then on the package boxes, etc just a lot of bad choices imo.
After seeing the stickers I thought that there would be an actual planner for 2025 coming up. Or at least an A5 Bullet Journal? That would have been an amazing finale! Overall I think the packaging design was the highlight of this advent calendar and I would have been very disappointed if I had purchased it, although I'm a huge stationery fan!
You were correct, the elastic on the back of the pencil holder is for putting it on a notebook. I like that the strap is adjustable. I have 2, paid about $8 usd each for them. I keep my favorite one in my purse, it has a mushroom pattern on it
Just an idea you could totally do this with a friend! Set a budget and a theme for each person and make each other an advent based on what they like/want :)
I think this is why people love to watch Cherry review things, she's honest and doesn't sugarcoat things. However, even with dull calenders she manages to take some positives out of it.
I love your honesty when reviewing, and I always appreciate you showing all the items together and discussing them. It really helps to decide if a calendar feels worth it.
I found it. The cardi is even cuter! I didn't know it was green. It looks black or very dark grey on my screen for this video but I can see it's dark green on disturbias website.
I LOVE stationary too! I’m definitely a paper and pen person over digital notes and love my to do lists and shopping lists. Personally, I could never justify £140 for this advent calendar though. It has some lovely stuff, but just isn’t worth that much altogether and really needed to be better discounted tbh. Some A5 size notepads/journals and maybe a 2025 diary would make it more worthwhile I think
I’m sorry but if I pay more than $100 and I get a measly PAPER CLIP for a whole day…someone is catching these hands. I can assure you I can find all of these items in TJ Max, Marshall’s, dollar store for half of that.
Hello. Your comment reminds me of a friend I took to The Makeup Bar here in OKC. It was a favorite store of myself and my daughter so we wanted to share it with her. It wasn't cheap but had products you wouldn't normally find. She picked up a parfum and YELLED "this is $200?", embarrassing me and my daughter. I should have dumped her at a Goodwill store. And, if you think you could find some of this quality at TJ Maxx or Marshalls, you are sorely mistaken no matter how small the items are. I have NEVER found anything of any value at either store.
@ Hello Cynthia. Your comments reminds me that thankfully I don’t have friends as awful as you and you would absolutely find this at TJ Max or Marshalls. You can find better quality items actually. You can’t find a pen that’s $12?? oh no! Maybe you need to move away from OKC then.
Imagine being embarrassed of someone because they're rightfully shocked at the price of something? Maybe just let her know beforehand that it's more expensive than a typical store or just asking her not to shout while with you in public? Also, saying you should've dumped her at goodwill implies there's something wrong with shopping at places like that? Not everyone thinks it's normal to pay large prices for things you usually see as not that much.
I really liked this aesthetic; minimalist, retro, colors & patterns. It’s not for everyone and not very festive, but it’s modern and I think there are creatives out there who can appreciate this.
the price for these advent calendars is becoming ridiculous for the few cheap things you get😒 Everything is just commercial driven the Meaning of Advent and Christmas is unfortunately forget.
im not sure when advent calendars became so ridiculous? ive always had a paper or electronic one and an old fabric one my mum used to fill with chocolate
yes, advent calendar used to be "get more for less price", because technically it like "bulk buy with discount", but year after year it become scam box, kinda sad actually.
I agree Cherry, I was very excited for this calendar but it fell so short. The little boxes for each day and the larger desk/organiser box were exquisite. But the things inside were just not Christmassy at all! The paper items and pens were nice but come on!! Also, considering Papier's main product is their diaries/planners, I was expecting day 25 to be a full sized planner, not a weekly Flipchart. That would have made so much more sense with the diary stickers and the pencil case, as well as the pen holder. Not worth the money in the slightest
i got a papier journal for myself 2 years ago. it lasted me about 4 months and i really loved the paper quality, which i thought i wouldnt. Its alittle thin feeling but it holds alot of different type of pen ink well so i think theyre great. Glad to see they are doing an advent calendar.
Thank you so much for your variety of calendars! I can only imagine the research and preparation you go through to put all of this lovely content out for us!! 😊
I have to give you props Cherry 🍒! You are honest about the items in your advent calendars ….yet you are not crass nor mean about the items you are less than fond or unimpressed with….. but the items you do like ? You are just adorable and so endearing in your reactions. I love that you allow yourself to be excited about an ink and stamp sampler without being afraid to show your inner child like wonder and joy. You also make it cool to be able to articulate your thoughts without vulgarity and inane language….to enunciate and engage in conversational dialogue with your audience. I appreciate you and your channel. I also love the variety of content. Thank you for your perspective and your delightful commentary on everything 😊
For those who love stationery advents as much as me - cult pens have one that is usually always of great value. I was going to get the Papier one, but I’m glad I didn’t now.
Stationary used to be or maybe I remember it that way; beautiful paper and envelopes to send notes to people or messages. They used to have beautiful boxes of stationary. But I’m noticing what it pertains to is stationary supplies.
Sorry, I am one of the people who disagree. The products were simple elegant and look nice quality. They are all ecologically sourced items which you do pay a premium for . They are a small company, so wouldnt produce the large volumes like WH smith etc. I loved it. (Other than the washi tape...what do you do with that anyway 😂, and the cardboard pogs). We all have our likes and dislikes, and that is cool! Loving the series by the way ❤❤
It’s very on trend also, I feel like we will see more of this style in 2025…the people who designed this know what they are doing. The color choices like the green, the patterns and fonts, the minimalist approach..a combination of retro and modern. They did a great job.
To be fair once I looked into the company I am more inclined to agree with you, especially as the pens are about £12.00 each. I think it would've been nicer to have a full size notebook or 2025 planner would've just made it even better. Also maybe instead of the pack of 3 fine liners if they gave the whole set of 5 which they sell. Same with highlighters you got 2 when the set is 4 so if you want more you have to repurchase what you already have.
Loved the page markers. As a historian, I use a lot of these stick/ postits. How nice they are included, can't wait for the rest. A fountain pen and ink with stationary would be nice.❤
They really put a lot of thought into the packaging... and all these beautiful boxes can be reused for presents too... so that must have cost a lot to make... The ltems l found quite nice exept a few ones
I appreciate your honest reviews Cherry. I’m noticing though, the more I watch these, the more it feels like the only calendars that truly appeal to you are the ones that are more expensive.
Really enjoy your reviews! Just a thought about the packaging: Since it's a stationery calender, the beautiful little boxes cold be considered part of the content in that they would make excellent reusable gift packaging.
I agree, I feel like it fell a little short. I was so excited when I saw that it was a stationary calendar then a little under whelmed when I saw what was included. Oh well I still loved watching you open it. Thank you
As a big stationary fan I highly recommend Notebook Therapy, they don’t have a calendar but a box at end of each year that is just amazing and there designs are so beautiful! 💕
A couple things I want to see in stationary calendars are: A) scented pens like you get at Tj Maax or other stores B. A book embosser with stickers C) more wax seals: maybe a set of seals with the stamper D) i know you can buy individually, but would be fun to see in a calendar: library check out cards. E) if not monopolized, a version of the magnetic book tab/highlighter thing that you put on your book But am glad this one has some unique items like the pencil case and photo frame, at least for a stationary calendar.
I liked the artwork and theme of the last stationary advent calender but I liked the variety of stationary in this advent calender. Atleast you get a variety of useful things and more pens so I feel this was more worth it supply wise 😁
You are right the other people that opened it was way to nice. I was so happy to see you tell them everything I was thinking. There need to be more pens and they need pen refill with them for that price. Great job.
The outer packaging was much better than the actual stationery! I only liked the gold pen :) I am surprised at Papier - their journals are usually lovely (in fact, one of their nice journals should have been day #24).
Okay I only recently discovered your channel and now I have no idea how I lived without these advent calendar unboxing videos!!! I look forward to them everyday now! Thank you! ❤
If only the little child me had known that it was possible to have stationary advent calendars! 7:12 the elastic is for notebooks, so you can “attach “ the case to your book!
Hi cherry ❤ I would have to agree on how you feel about this advent calendar granted some stationary sets, are expensive, but you always can tell by the quality if I’m not getting that cozy comforting feeling or looking forward to bullet journal or daily planning it’s not worth the price …. This company has a lot of potential to improve. There are a few things that are brilliant, definitely things I could see myself using, however if the materials don’t match the quality of the presentation then it’s not worth my coin. I’m so happy that you review these advent calendars because I would hate to be a customer, giving companies the benefit of the doubt that I’m getting the benefit of high value items to then be disappointed. And waste money.
I love how the calendar can also be used as stationary collection case to store all your items. Overall it's mostly a decent advent calendar but a puzzle is not a stationary item. A few low points such as the cardstock-like page tabs and I don't see the claimed value unless they are heavily weighting that to include the proposed value of the box everything came in.
I think this calendar was really good, have different things each day and have a clear concept but is too minimalistic for me and start great but at then it goes down with the carton and paper things
@@lauramaggi98 It's not prices, though I understand your reply. It's the fact that in particular Stephanie curated and made the items herself. They were personalized for the person ordering the calendar, not mass made just for a quick buck for 24.99 for shoddy work. These companies are stealing her artistry and creations w/o her getting anything from it w/o her even knowing. There's a legal word for this, and it's Theft.
I should add that I mixed up my comments and was referring to where I mentioned the other stationary calendar currated just for Cherry by Stephanie that has had Facebook knock offs pop up left and right w/o Stephanie's knowledge. Forgive me?
I totally agree with the little circle cardboard clips they could have made them plastic or metal like the other clips or just stuck in a additional pen for the price of the calendar you could take the same amount of money & go shopping or have your bestie pick up stuff and make your own advent calender
Paper clips like these gold ones are great bookmarks :) not falling out, you can mark the sentense where you stoped reading, I love to use them like that.
7:51 Yes, a pencil holder but could also be used to carry menstrual products for those that don’t carry purses. 22:11 not kidding, I’d be furious at this point if I spent over $30 for that calendar. Cardboard?
I love your reviews, you're so completely honest and I do agree with you. For the price this was, it was quite disappointing. I would expect a bit higher quality with some of these items. I definitely don't see over $200 worth here. Some things were cute too though.
Oh, your jumper is so adorable 🍄😍 This is a truly gorgeous box too! ✨- the box itself and packs for each day were lovely, and some items were very pretty *but* 200 GBP is a hefty over-valuation!* (*edit after watching the whole unboxing 😄)
@@EllisAnnabelleWalkerI can confirm, it’s the Fable Embroidered Jumper from Disturbia.. I’ve been eying that jumper for months hoping it will go on sale!
I LOVE stationary and I’m super interested in this one ! You can tell by the box it will be good 😍 (Edit) I must say I’m disappointed! They probably spent most of the money on the box which is kinda a shame, however I think the box would be so cool to reuse because the mechanism is really cool! From a fellow stationary lover I can relate to the disappointment!!
I spy Quirky Cup Collective pens!! Also, I adore your jumper/sweater! And I have to agree, this advent calendar seemed quite lacklustre (apart from the pens included).
Okay okay, so, I LOVE stationary. I never know they did advents for it until I found you lol. This calendar was not great. Your honesty is so appreciated. The colour scheme was weird. I was hoping for xmas colours or night sky like the box.
Did you see the news feedback on the other calendar she opened that was personalized? FB is sharing hundreds of faux versions of Stephanie's calendar that was the limited run with Cherry on it. I found the video slightly humorous when I saw the reporter had CW on her day 25!
I personally think this is a good calendar, you have to take in what the actual brands style is and what they sell and this is exactly what their brand is.
Think I will have to agree with you cherry, I think they put the money into the box more than the items.
At least you can use the box as a stationary storage box.

Personally, from all the advent calenders you open, the stationary ones are my favorite ones, by far.
Nope, that one fell flat. But thanks for sharing. Maybe the money was in the box?
I liked the artwork and theme of the last stationary advent calender but I liked the variety of stationary in this advent calender.
Atleast you get a variety of useful things and more pens so I feel this was more worth it supply wise 😁
I went to look at the products individually and they could’ve given you the four highlighters instead of the two! They come in four for £12!!!
Chocolate advent calendars seem to be the only ones worth getting. Atleast you get a treat.
since you like the design of the other pan you can switch them since They can be undon, just switch the tip
You are right the other people that opened it was way to nice. I was so happy to see you tell them everything I was thinking. There need to be more pens and they need pen refill with them for that price. Great job.
i love ur hair! and i just want to say that ur the best channel i watch and i look forward to watch ur videos every week❤ (in this case every day)
I absolutely LOVE the hair and sweater today. So glossy and shiny😍😍
The best thing is the box and how it opens! 😂
I'm hooked... Cherry uploaded a new video 37 minutes ago? Another advent calendar? The whole room echoes with my cry: YEEESSS!!
Funny thing is papier means paper in Dutch. I don’t know if that’s what it is meant to be, but so you know :) love watching you
Haha i also noticed ( bc i am dutch my self )
Same is Polish, I believe it's also papier in French
Same in German, so the whole time I was thinking „thats not how it‘s pronounced!“ 😂😂
Yes I had the same, I was like that’s not how it’s pronounced
It means paper in Afrikaans as well xD
I liked it. I also liked the jigsaw puzzle. Id have been thrilled to receive that
For a stationery lover like me…..this video is jst❤..was waitn for a stationery advent calender
Another expensive and guff calendar. And I love stationery too. What a cheek for the price
That box is giving me skiving snack box vibes!!!
The outer packaging was much better than the actual stationery! I only liked the gold pen :) I am surprised at Papier - their journals are usually lovely (in fact, one of their nice journals should have been day #24).
Ironically, the thing I would find the most useful on my writing desk is the box itself!
The pen holder belly band was the only thing I somewhat liked in the whole thing
Hi cherry ❤
I would have to agree on how you feel about this advent calendar granted some stationary sets, are expensive, but you always can tell by the quality if I’m not getting that cozy comforting feeling or looking forward to bullet journal or daily planning it’s not worth the price ….
10:46 Cherry, just switch the ink cartridges from the day 9 and 10 pens.
Cherry, you’re the best! Hope you always get joy out of being here :) Because I love watching these
0:56 Papier is Dutch for paper
The same in polish 🤓
In german we also say Papier 🤫😮
It's also french for paper
Oh in that case do you pronounce it pah-pee-r? Like the Afrikaans word for paper?
@BeeAndHumph No not like that
I love how the calendar can also be used as stationary collection case to store all your items.
The bang for your buck? I'd say no. The items within if the price was lowered? Then it'd make sense.
@Knight-of-Sarcasm well yeah that too a lot of calendars are really overpriced for what they are
@@lauramaggi98 It's not prices, though I understand your reply.
Forgive me?
I love stationery advent calendars! Please do more of these next year, as well as the toy ones as well.
You have lovely handwriting Cherry!
I totally agree with the little circle cardboard clips they could have made them plastic or metal like the other clips or just stuck in a additional pen for the price of the calendar
you could take the same amount of money & go shopping or have your bestie pick up stuff and make your own advent calender
Love watching your videos ❤❤❤
Paper clips like these gold ones are great bookmarks :) not falling out, you can mark the sentense where you stoped reading, I love to use them like that.
7:51 Yes, a pencil holder but could also be used to carry menstrual products for those that don’t carry purses.
22:11 not kidding, I’d be furious at this point if I spent over $30 for that calendar. Cardboard?
Another helpful hint. I do carry purses but always nice to keep in mind the options. Thank you 😇
I just want to say that the sweater that Cherry wears in this video is adorable ✨
Potter/Magic advent when 😭
I use paper clips every day at work. Would love to have some pretty ones😊
Maybe next year you could bring out your own "Lost Cauldron" Advent calendar. Just a thought ❤
Omg, I love that jigsaw. It gives casual stationary day vibes.
I love your reviews, you're so completely honest and I do agree with you.
For the price this was, it was quite disappointing.
I would expect a bit higher quality with some of these items.
I definitely don't see over $200 worth here.
Some things were cute too though.
I was so excited for both of the stationary advents and both have been pretty disappointing. I’m so glad you share these with us!
Oh, your jumper is so adorable 🍄😍 This is a truly gorgeous box too! ✨- the box itself and packs for each day were lovely, and some items were very pretty *but* 200 GBP is a hefty over-valuation!* (*edit after watching the whole unboxing 😄)
I think the jumper is from disturbia
@@EllisAnnabelleWalker 👍lovely! it's super cute ☺
@@EllisAnnabelleWalkerI can confirm, it’s the Fable Embroidered Jumper from Disturbia.. I’ve been eying that jumper for months hoping it will go on sale!
I felt PAPIER did a really nice ADVENT CALENDAR. I’d take it with a 😊.📒🖇️📌🖋️📝📕📚🧧✏️🆒🆗✅💟
I think the boxes they all came in was where the value was. I like pens but most of these items you can probably buy for a couple of pounds.
I LOVE stationary and I’m super interested in this one ! You can tell by the box it will be good 😍
(Edit) I must say I’m disappointed! They probably spent most of the money on the box which is kinda a shame, however I think the box would be so cool to reuse because the mechanism is really cool! From a fellow stationary lover I can relate to the disappointment!!
The box was the only good thing about that calendar, lol.
Well, the pens were nice, most other items seemed very cheap.
I will say that the box is gorgeous and I would 100% keep it to store things in. And I'm not much of a stationery lover, but the pens do look nice.
Papier in polish means paper so it fits perfectly :D
Same in Dutch
I spy Quirky Cup Collective pens!! Also, I adore your jumper/sweater! And I have to agree, this advent calendar seemed quite lacklustre (apart from the pens included).
When I saw that Quirky Cup Collective pen I got so excited! Literally the best pens ever!
Woo-hoo! 🇦🇺
Okay okay, so, I LOVE stationary. I never know they did advents for it until I found you lol. This calendar was not great. Your honesty is so appreciated. The colour scheme was weird. I was hoping for xmas colours or night sky like the box.
ITS Not Xmas ITS Christmas .
24:35 you paid for packing
I'm obsessed with your mushroom sweater!!!! 🍄 ❤
