- Step by step how to remove the A Pillar Windshield Molding Trim on a Honda Civic. This DIY cladding removal video is applicable to 2022, 2023, and 2024 Honda Civic Models.
Removing the A-pillar trim in a Honda Civic necessitates a specific procedure due to the presence of an airbag behind the molding. The trim is secured by a clip that ensures it remains intact during a side airbag deployment.
I tinted the windshield on a 2024 Civic, for a customer. I wanted to take the pillar trim off. Your video was precise and to the point. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much!!
It's the same for the 2024 model as well, just istalled my dashcam today. Thank you dude!
Removing was easy. Thanks for showing how to install it back!!
Thank you for this. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why the panel wasn't going back on and it was because the clip was deployed.
Worked like a champ and a huge difference replacing my stock tweeters.
Nice. Was thinking doing the same. What tweeters did you install? Did you splice into factory wiring or use a harness? I’ve seen an example where the pillar had to be hacked to fit the tweeter. Thx
@@Oxindole I purchased 2 sets of JBL Club 750t tweeters. They come with 3 install options. I used the one with the spindols and broke off all the extensions and it fit right in the stock setting. I also used the pins adapters to splice into the speaker wire. Same for the rear door tweeters. The sound difference is UNREAL. Even more of a difference than the 6.5 door swaps.
Awesome! Thanks much for the info. Great to know that there is a noticeable difference. I will put this on my ‘to do’ list. Thanks again!
@@Oxindole thanks also for posting. It was so simple with your instructions 👍
@@chrisdesimone4249 Did you use a crossover? What model civic do you have?
Hey, I wanted to thank you for this video. I was following another video taking apart the interior trim to install a home link mirror in my Integra and I had such a difficult time removing the original clip that I wound up cutting it away because the harness kit came with a replacement one and the person in the video said they were only a one time use clip.
Anyway, when I was putting the new one back on, it wasn’t clear and I made the mistake of attaching it to the actual pillar instead of the cover. As a result, I couldn’t slide the trim back on to the clip and I had a gap up there near the roof line.
I thought I was gonna have to order another part to redo it, but when I watched your video and your method of removing the clip, I was able to successfully remove mine and reattach it properly and it looks perfect.
Thanks a lot for the video, sir !
I was also waiting for this video to fix the rattles on both sides. Thanks @DIYHonda!
Glad to help! Leave comments asking for any video you want made. 🤙
What did you do to fix your rattles ?
Beautiful video!
Thanks so much for the video, I found some rattles that stopped when I put my hand on the A pillar so will try to find some time on the weekend to remove. I've also got some rattles behind the steering wheel horn part - when it rattles I put my hand on it and it stops. Took it to a dealer they said they "fixed it, road tested it and didn't hear rattle" but when I drove home it rattled. Are you able to do a video on that? Thanks
Thanks, now i can try to fix that dam rattle myself
Did it work?
Well if you trying to fix the rattle that comes from the driver side I found the source of it, first it’s not the A pillar trim it’s coming from the door panel and the dashboard of the car, you can have this rattle when the car stays on the sun all day especially when the car is hot you’re gonna notice, to see if that’s your case just put you finger between the door and dashboard and press you finger, the rattle should go away, that was my case
@@guiramos55I have this same exact sound coming from driver side door. Is this a permanent fix? If not, would you happen to know where exactly in the door it is coming from? Been putting foam pieces everywhere in the panel and still no luck as of yet
Those clips are supposed to be replaced after removal. They are one time use.
Thanks a million for this!
Thanks for posting. Please can you provide a video showing the removal of the roof switch console? Ultimately I’d like a headliner removal video!
Thanks for the vid! Just wondering, did you have to disconnect the battery before removing it?
You’re the man 👍🏿
how about a video to remove the rear interior deck lid plastic for a rattle
Great video! I need to replace the antenna on my 23 civic sport. Can’t find much info on the removable/reinstall. I know I need to pop the 2 clips back of liner & remove the 2 handles up top. I think I will have to remove that back trim as well which is the part I’m unsure about. Do you know if the airbag clips are the same behind that trim? Do you disconnect the battery before removing trim with airbags? Could you do a video on the antenna removal/reinstall? Love your videos very informative & to the point thanks!!
Helpful video. Is this the same pillar clip used in 2023-2024 CRVs? Thanks.
May the force be with you 🌞
What about clipping the air bag back in, does it automatically clip back in upon reinstallation?
Thank you 😊
