- Blackvue DR900S Rear Dash Cam clean install.
I have been mulling over the best method for installing the rear dash cam for quite some time after installing the fronts.
This video shows what I believe is the cleanest install possible for the Blackvue DR900S rear dash cam.
Parts Used:
Blackvue DR900S 2CH Dashcam
Front Camera Install Video Link: • Blackvue DR900S Dash C...
IMPORTANT: Prepare two or three pry tools and also a wire coat hanger to straighten and use for fishing the cable through.
Please Note: These are for both RHD & LHD 11th Gen Civics

This is very helpful. I'll be using this as a guide when I install mine. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated
thank you so much for making this video, I have an ITS so this will help out immensely
Thank you for the feedback! Its much appreciated
I have a base model hatch which is a ways away from the type r but im going to try this out!! Extremely in depth tutorial man thank you!!
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback, its always appareciated
Did you have to purchase extra cable? If so do you know how much you ended up using?
@@mindofstate 6m was just enough, if you wanted more slack the 10m option would be better. The default in the box option in my region was the 6m.
Was this connected to the front cam? How is it connected to power source?

Nice. I will reference this for putting my dashcam rear camera in a 2024 Acura Integra A-Spec Tech. It should be pretty similar.
Thanks for the feedback, pretty much same car so install should be quite similar 👍
Thank you so much!
Glad its helped 😉
Have you considered using MirrorTaps? You can power it through the LKAS/ACC Camera or the auto dimming rear mirror.
Yes I did think about that option, but we have to consider warranty and tampering with crucial safety mechanisms as a caveat.
How do you get the cable through the grommet hole from the trunk?
You can use the coat hanger wire that you will need to use to fish the wire through the grommet.
Got a quick question, you bought the dash cam on Amazon? If so did it had everything you needed to install right away like that? Also do you know if it fits on a fl4 type r as well?
The kit depending on what model you purchase will have everything you need.
You can if you’re hardwiring get a low profile mini fuse tap to make sure you have everything and thats covered in the front cam install video.
You will need to have your own plastic pry tools and a coat hanger straightened for easier install.
what fuses did you use? Parking mode stay on for longer than 90 seconds?
I used fuse 42 but 45 was labelled the ACC fuse. After checking with my voltmeter I found 45 was still drawing power.
Does it interfere with your DAB radio signal?
No I haven’t had issues 😉
Brother I am following your tutorial. What kind of rod did you use? Or where did you buy it? I am at that part and oh man. I’ve been doing it 2 hours that alone. I can’t have it pass to other side. I am usung a 16 gauge steel galvanized wire. Need help bro!
Use a wire coat hanger and it should be all good 😉
@@Hattrk85 I mean which one in specific? My head’s gonna pop out! It’s really hard!! Haha
@@franzhizon9112 use a fish tape wire puller
Where is the slack for when opening and closing the hatch?
The slack is accounted for when you feed the cable through the rubber grommet 🙂
Thanks!
That last part is the most difficult. I’m installing a different cable and I’m worried that the cable is to thick.
Best of luck!
is there any cable that are not thick on rear cam cable? it’s difficult to install the last part. i might break the glass 😢
