I got my type R almost 2 years ago because of you! I’ve decided to sell it soon because it just sits. My semi truck is my daily driver and I get to take it home. It makes me sad seeing the civic just sit. I haven’t moved it in about two months. I’ll still be watching the videos living vicariously through you. Thanks, Cam💙

Why not just go take it for a drive every few days. Drive it to the grocery store or something. You can’t possible take a semi everywhere. I never understood why people say I don’t ever drive it and it just sits. So weird

When disconnecting your charger it's negative first and when connecting it's the positive first. Think of it as a party, you want the positive people to come first and then after you want them to leave last.
You're Electric steering, not power, is going out because the batter is taking a crap. It cant hold the charge at low rpm or idle anymore.

Im doing great! The daily grind is hard to break out of. Work, picking up the baby, going home, playing with and entertaining the baby, dinner, bath time, bed. Its an enjoyable grind, but hard to spend time on my hobbies

Sold my type r a few months back. Miss it so much but I couldn't say no too 35k. Was full bolt on, real fun to drive. Enjoy the car and hope she never does you wrong!
For your electrical issues such as the power steering when you turn and audio going out, i would definitely check if your battery terminals are on tight. Had the same issue on my 9th gen and figured out I had loose terminals. Tightened them up and issue never came back.

When installing goes positive then negative cable to prevent arching; if you put negative first theres chance the positive cable could touch something during install sending current into and possibly fry a module. Upon removal, take off negative first because once removed no current running through either jumper cable.

Nice to have you back man. I just picked up a Championship White FL5 @ a month ago under MSRP. Such a fun little car. Awaiting delivery of the AWE touring exhaust and got PPF and full ceramic as my first 'mods'- lol . Going to keep her stock for 1 year then probably swift springs and black gloss TE's on 18x10's . Keep on keeping on.
Honda had a recall on early 16-19 power steering. It’s like a quirky sensing issue when your car doesn’t have sensing but it’s idk hard to explain. Honda goof!

The batteries only last three years. Mine just failed at 3.4 years ownership on my FK8. Went with a AGM batt this time. My 2015 Si battery died at the three year mark as well. I also thought I would never sell my FK8 but im searching for a R35 GTR now. I dont currently have space for more than the two vehicles I have. So it would get sold or traded in.

I change my car battery in my 2020 pilot at the 4 yr mark .friends at honda say just change it with or with out warning.they all said they just go without any warning .it might start by a delay in start up not as responsive.ive had it for 2 yrs and I just changed the original battery 2 months ago .got a everstart agm platinum battery 4 yr warranty more cranking apps .my car requires a fla battery
Also my type r has now 101,000 miles so thats why.the battery stiles good i been driving it every day in 7 years that i own my 17 type r
You can be like a friend of mine who lives up north he has a 2021 Type R in CW and also a 2023 Type R in CW also. He doesn’t wanna get rid of either.
A bad battery will kill and alternator. Just get a trickle charger if ur not driving it very often.👍

From experience your on and off screen is because of you unplugging the cabin car noise. Plug it back in and u won’t have an issue
I’d be so sad to see you get rid of your type R. I think these would be the best daily drivers. However, I’ve been thinking of selling my 9th gen to buy a 340i. But that’s in the future. But for the same price I might end up with a type R and keep my 2024 mustang as a weekend car.

@cameron Hill by the way the BRZ shifter is a Toyota shifter not specifically a Subaru one. I hear WRX shifters feel different.

Try Tim Tams (the double coat or regular) from Australia. Fairly basic but taste great.
On a side note from what you were talking about - Australian Kit Kats (or anything with Sugar including Coca Cola) are better in places like Australia where they use real sugar - I assume Canada as well for Sugar ... but notice that Canada still has a laundry list of ingredients in basic things like peanut butter - where Australia will just have peanuts, salt and that's it (for the same brand).
stick with the fk8! Fl5 not as aggressive but of course up to your personal preference, i still like the FL5s

I don’t know how you drive it in comfort on drop springs. Mine felt like i was just bouncing on the springs, like the shocks weren’t even a factor. I only drove in sport or +R
I'm saving up now for an FK8 because of you man. Got my build list and everything.
PS. I've ridden in an FL5 and they're sweet. Only downside that I've noticed, the seats are more bucket-y than the FK8, not as comfortable for me. Exterior is nice, but doesn't really have the personality of the FK8. Plus, there aren't as many parts available for it, and it's also not as fast as the FK8. Otherwise it's an amazing car

Don't mean this to be a smart a$$, it's a legit question. Isn't it common knowledge that if you plan to not drive your car for more than two weeks that you should at least start it up occasionally to keep the battery healthy?
If you where to buy the fl5 and trade in the fk8 would you take all the after market mods you did to the fk8 or just sell the fk8 with the mods you have?
Good question. I would probably put it back to stock + the aftermarket front-pipe back exhaust since I don't have the stock exhaust system anymore. But I really don't see that happening. Opening up the garage 20/30 years from now and pulling off the cover revealing my FK8 will be a legendary experience. The possibility of catastrophic regret is too high for me to consider selling the FK8. I'll have to do it the hard way and pay off this car quickly, then focus on purchasing an FL5 brand new before production ends.
This is the time to collect cars. These combustion engine vehicles are not going to be around forever, and people are going to wish they had held on to these cars decades from now. I only see a future of regret and disappointment for those who sell these cars instead of keeping them and collecting as much as possible right now and the next 5 years or so
