    The house first then the car, smart bro I needed to see something like this. I have been trying to get one and was willing to put a pause on buying a home but your right about the debt limiting how much you get approved for. I’ll go get mine later on. I see it has a garage to sleep at night in 👍🏽 enjoy the car!

    Hey brother, this vid helped me a lot. I was able to find 5k over msrp at a few places, but none were my first choice of color. I was finally able to find a championship white for 6k over, which was a grand over my limit, but to find a white one for 5k over was hard. It took me 6 days total of calling many dealers, I'm sure if I was a bit more patient I'd be able to find a white one for 5k over but honestly mentally it's been stressful and just wanted to get it over with. I will say for anyone looking for a specific color, make sure you talk to the sales managers when you call, and try to get an estimate in any color you can for whatever markup you're willing to pay, and use that when you call other dealers and mention right away if they can match or not if you're looking for a specific color like I was. I found 3 different msrp only dealers, the smallest one had a waitlist of 90+ people. I was willing to wait 2 years if I had to but no one could actually guarantee If I would eventually get a car. Thanks again for this vid bro, I'm from MD and it was cool to get someones help from the DMV. I appreciate it!

    It is still ridiculous out there! Just went to look at a Type R the other weekend and they wanted +10k over MSRP/ +60K OTD🤯They even had it roped off like it was a +200k Exotic at a car show! I laughed at that price. They said they haven’t sold one for less than +50k. Told them I would pay $45k OTD but that’s it and they said only 1 employee has gotten a deal like that. Hopefully people will stop paying that markup because we are the ones that are in control and if people just said no, they would be forced to sell it for MSRP! It is a dope car but not +$60k, dope! Hope that you and your family have a blessed one.

    • @turbo_tin

    Remember any accessories added the prices are inflated to add a high profit margin which they usually high profit margin in the first place. I know this from being in a commission based retail sales in electronics. One thing management in my job hammered into the sales staff was to sell accessories! Also the interest rate is another way the dealer makes money on a car sales. So your fico score is really what gives you the leverage to getting a good interest rate unless you are buying the car with cash. Also knowing how long a dealer has had a car on their lot. If they have had it for a long period of time then they are more desperate in selling that particular car because the dealer is paying Honda corporation for that car monthly.

    I’m not trying discount the color but I noticed dealers are willing to give better prices on boost blue and red. It’s a love it or hate it color so less people are looking for those colors. I called many dealers and a lot of them had blue in stock but others were already taken or they weren’t wanting to discount the grey or white and that could be the reason why the first guy canceled. Thank you for the information.

    • @turbo_tin

    I feel like buying a brand new car is possibly the worst investment you can make........ UNLESS it is a rare collectible car that will only increase in value through the years. I mean, of course, if it's always been a dream of yours to someday buy a brand new car that you love...... then by all means, if you have the means for it, get it, you only live once as they say. But with that said, I've seen many folks who are living beyond their means just to satisfy their wants and needs, and in the end be a slave to the monthly bills that keeps piling up. I mean, people can spend their money on what they want.... but me, I work hard for my money, I make damn sure it's getting put to good use and not spend frivolously.

    Not bad, at least we're getting back to sticker price on enthusiast cars slowly but surely, and hopefully. Lot of them hovering around 50k right now. I personally think even 45k for a Civic is pushing it though. You have a lot of options at 50k for a car: a new Z, Supra, Cayman, M2 etc. Hopefully the competition helps stabilize the market.

      The Type R comp is GTI and GR Corola. The Type R legacy and driving experience blows these cars out of the water. I happily paid my $58k for the car. This is coming from someone that owned a STI, Camaro SS, M340i, and a 911/992. It is the best experience hands down. Obviously the 992 was extremely quick and handled like a dream, but comparing $125k to $60k is where the TypeR is just crazy for what you get.

    I got bit by the markup on my boost blue. To be fair I kind of got caught up in the moment and didn't research it well before hand. Dealer said they were willing to negotiate the markup to keep it local, which ended up being only about 2k off. It also had 3k in ceramic coating, PPF and something else already on the car so got stuck with that too. It was a show room model so that was kind of neat. Thats really my only regret with the car.

    I’ve never bought a new car before I wish I knew about that datatrac thing before I bought my fl5. I checked and even now there’s some crazy low rates on there. I think I might even consider refinancing. Im sure if I refinance since it’s used at this point now, it will have to get used rates but one local bank here it said they offer 2 percent at 60 months. It blew my mind. Not sure if that’s a typo or not I’m calling them tomorrow. But regardless there were still good rates in the upper 2’s and 3 percent range on used. I’m deff thinking about it!

    Ok I appreciate the review and congrats on your Type R…. However I need to say I hope you didn’t pay much over MSRP for a Honda Civic (Type R or not). $45k plus you can get a much better car, or a decent down payment on an entry level Porsche pre-owned. You do realize you oissed away anything over MSRP ($7k? $12k? Shit dude…) So how much did you put down? How much is your car note? Do you own or rent your home? Do you have responsibilities like a family? What do you do for a living? How’s your income to debt ratio? I take it you live in California. I ask because I see many young guys (TH-camrs) posting reviews of Type R’s yet I see them living in a town home or apartments with young children. Yes it’s fun to drive a Type R but really responsibilities should take priority over your superficial needs. I’m mean it’s your money, do as you please but living on maxed out credit and owning/financing a vehicle that takes up more than 50% of your net income is not a wise decision.

    • @turbo_tin
      @turbo_tin  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching my vid. First of all, I understand that for $45k I can get into different cars, but I didn't want a different car. I was also debating on going with a used 911 but I wanted to get the Type R as it offers the practicality that the 911 didn't have. I paid $4.5k over for the car and that's how much I put down. Car payment is $1.2k/mo for 3 years. I'm paying mortgage on my single family home in Northern Virginia. I do take care of my family members that live with me. I'm a cloud engineer. My DTI is at a good level, I'm not stressed about it. Thanks for worrying about my financial well-being but this car is extra money I can spend on after taxes, retirement accounts, savings, mortgages, etc.
