    Glad to hear you wanting to spend time with your family especially since your kids are so young. Enjoy them as much as you can cause if you don't time will speed by and they will go off to college or whatever they do and you will only see them on certain weekends and holidays. My wife and I are empty nesters and the house is so quiet.

      Brian, I second that. My kid's young years passed by so quickly, and I missed most of them. Too busy making a living. I'm 76 now and am enjoying grandkids.

    I was going to include a video thats like fifteen minutes long of my crazy neighbor who has a collection of old trucks and he is a ball of laughs. He is way brighter than what he pretends to be but it also shows something about alaska that people from anywhere would never see unless they actually come here. I hear the I need time with family and to me thats way more important. Your a good person Silas and we need more like you.

    My cousin had one of those Honda Civics when we were in school in the mid 80s, WOW that thing took alot of abuse for about three years while he owned it. We off roaded it, we hot rodded it, we pulled people on sleds with it. He ended up selling to someone else and it still ran and drove just fine

    It makes my day to start watching your videos and hear you say good morning. You tell us your Plan A for the day. You walk around the vehicles just brought to your yard and tell us what your experienced eye sees. You talk about your family. Some day, you will have to give us a tour of all the cars you are keeping. It seems each vehicle has a story to tell, and you are able to read that story just by looking it over. Enjoy your videos very much. Kathy

    Here's an idea you can get rich off of Silas...Make footsies for tires so when you go to places like scrap-junk yards you can slip them on all tires and tighten some how then when you leave said yards just pull over and take them back off, maybe out of chain link or something simular sorta like chains in winter time

    Thanks for another good video. I pulled a set of those IH roof lights and a few other parts off a 1600 grain truck for a guy last night. I'm cutting the fronts off level with the grain boxes putting hitches on and making dump trailers acreage guys can pull with their tractors. I got 1 20 ft tandem here on a GMC frame that will probably sell to a farmer for extra grain or bulk fertilizer moving, as it has the roll tarp on it still. The whole front ends of 3 trucks need to get weighed in, I don't know yet what the price drop was here after the last one, so they might stay for a bit. Take care.

    The hardest part about your job seems to be knowing what is worth working on each day and saving vs crushing. But I'm sure you like the puzzles. Looks like a fun job. I feel like jobs get fun once you get so comfortable/confident that you naturally always know what to do next. Then you come across people maybee not as knowledgeable that you sort out their problems real quick too.

    Always great Silas. I know it's lots of work but what you do would be fun for me. I'd love to have all those cars especially the old ones and run a crusher and a loader. Living in Mesa Az there is little room for hardly anything and land is ridiculous in price. Places like yours flat out do not exist here. Even the remaining farm land is being swallowed up by urban sprawl. I did have a chance to buy my wife's family farm in Southern Illinois a few years back but it's location and weather extremes we in Arizona are unaccustomed to and the fact our family is all in Mesa we passed on it. 85 acres with all the out buildings, log house, lake, equipment and flat open land. I'd have 85 acres of old cars. They wanted a 100K for it all. They just wanted it to stay in the family. It did sell a few years ago to one of my wife's cousins. While there when people found out I was in to cars they were wanting to give them all to me. I mean hundreds. Some were 1920's and 30's cars. Oh well. I'll be more than happy to watch your video's and enjoy what you do.

    I know what you mean about spending time with the family. I was so busy when they were young. I was getting a teaching credential, and then teaching high school math. I missed a lot when they were small. Later, the load lightened some because of the smaller school I was teaching at, so I had more time. It seems like you just turn around and they go from being 3 to being 15. On the 24th, my oldest, Julianne, celebrated her 30th birthday.

  • @realmaindrianpace
    @realmaindrianpace 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was glad to see that Comet was stripped of everything useful by someone who knew what was worth taking. Those five lug Mavericks and Comets have a desirable 8" rear end, one of the narrowest that Ford made, and a drop-in fit for early Falcons, Comets, and Mustangs. That car probably had a 302 and automatic, and all the big bumper cars had front disc brakes, so that car was basically an all-in-1 conversion kit to convert a Falcon or Mustang to V8 and five lug disc. Granadas and Monarchs had the same front disc brakes, still very desirable to convert an older car from drum to disc.
