@@txtoolcrib Check out this video: th-cam.com/video/EKVlz2NMcs8/w-d-xo.html I think it's in German (which I do not speak) but you'll be able to clearly see what easy mod is made to make the RangerGrip (I think any of them?) way more versatile. He is doing this on the 178 model.
*It has a built in 1/4" hex bit driver!* I am shocked and puzzled why Victorinox would hide this from us! Those bastards! lol :) I know the Boatsman model has it, too. Why would they purposely not want to make all of their other RangerGrip models way more versatile like this, out of the box? Really odd. I'd think that'd help them raise the price on them by $15!
Maybe you can get a 178, do a video on it, then try modding it and show us? :) Putting it in boiled water for a minute or so softens the plastic to make it more pliable, thus able to pop off the cover without cracking the plastic. I learned that from this video: th-cam.com/video/xdGbHKHnPn4/w-d-xo.html by MeZillch.

I got my first deer on my property this past year, with a 357mag lever action. This knife was used to field strip the deer. Very effective. The saw made short work of the rib cage.

One of my favourite models. With two liner locks stiffening the frame, this is a very sturdy model. The pouch is not always sold with this knife. Victorinox varies in this. Why I do not know. Also comes in a corkscrew version. I just don't tend ever to use screw drivers in nature, so I like the corkscrew, as a knot opener and poker. The saw is the same as Victorinox's other saws. It is, actually, a wood saw. Whether it works on bone, that is for those with sawing bones to say. But it is just like all the other Victorinox saws. I have lots of 111mm, and three 130mm models, with saws. And lots of the smaller models with saws, down to the little Walker. All in all, a great general utility outdoorsy knife, saw model. I also have the one without the saw. Victorinox has switched over to these sturdy liner locks, from the slide locks. And the opening hole is ubiquitous, though some 111mm are without because some countries disallow one-hand opening.
    Cheers!

This was my first 111mm, and the only one I could find with a non-serrated/non-combo edged knife. Love the single-hand-opening, and the saw is much more effective than the 91mm.

I own a few Victorinox large knives: a Swiss Army '08, a Forrester M (serrated), a Locksmith and a Ranger Grip 79. The first two have serrated blades and are in my lunchbox and EDC bag. The Ranger Grip 79 is dedicated to my BOB and the Locksmith is my main EDC. I've fitted all with dangler pocket clips, allowing them to be upright in my pocket. Victorinox usually does not add any sheath to their knives; the Hunter XT is one exception among others.
I don't particularly like serrated blades but Victorinox serrated blades are simply awesome. They did exactly the opposite of all other knife manufacturers: the base of the blade is straight for 25mm/1" and then goes serrated up to the tip, allowing the user to make power cuts. The serrations are effective to cut pretty much anything: clothing, rope and food.
The reverse liner lock is effective. It forces the user to push away from the blade, slightly reducing the chances of being cut while closing it (spoiler alert: there's no perfect liner lock, except on the Ranger Grip and alike series where you push on the Victorinox shield to disengage the liner lock).
    Keep up your excellent work!

Fuse.
Теперь мне нужен серрейторный нож в мультитул с пасатижами, и с этим сейчас есть проблемы, ведь мне нужен Heavy duty пасатижи... А их выбор очень ограничен.

Frankly, gutting critters can be bloody. Without side tools like screwdrivers there is less possibility to snag guts and fibre. Like that rescue knife with toothpick... hygienic nightmare.
Victorinox idiosyncrasies. We all have our brow-furrowers, but love the variety and utility of Victorinox.
Some varmint hunters skin and clean with simple old slip joints, like a Spartan. Wouldn't dress a moose or a blackbear with one.
