@@legendofacriuswithornament2019 It’s not nostalgia. I am seriously pissed off constantly by that excuse to downplay someone’s very real opinion. But then witch queen flipped the tables. We entered a golden age of story telling. I even bought D1 and played through its story because I enjoyed this game so much. I never got to really enjoy D1. I'm an avid player of D2 now, but I was a little squeaker when D1 released. This song, though. I remember this. I remember aimlessly walking about, unsure of what to do. Watching other Guardians amass for.. whatever. And that guitar in the background.. I was only eleven, but it made me feel... calm. Marty didn't make this one., actually. Lead composer for this track was C Paul Johnson, the guy who did Last Array and Regicide. (He left of his own accord in 2016, incidentally.)
i remember going way to the left or right of the tower to where those thin little ramp plates were where you could pull out the sit emote and just perch on the edge watching all the city lights glimmer and whirr, with the beautiful orb-traveller just piercing the sky like a comforting musket ball of protection, giving such an irreplaceable & ethereal bliss to the environment i didnt know i could be so allured by. I always wondered what roaming those streets on a misty midnight evening far down below would feel like - wondering about the lives of your protectors way up above at the tower and what monstrous lethal forces they were hunting to assure your safety. for how much shit Destiny was given for poor narrative, (and i wont necessarily disagree on that front), - the ambience, feel and flavour of *being* a hero - its what cements the happy memories of being a guardian in my mind.

Marty O'Donnell's compositions always made you feel at ease and tranquil when your character was at The Tower, despite the horrors and dark secrets of the universe awaiting to be discovered. Mysterious and tragic; yet intriguing in a beautiful way.
Destiny 1 had a magic to it, I think everything in destiny 2 is great, I have so much fun with the game but I definitely miss the mystery of everything, the soundtrack, beyond light had an amazing soundtrack however it wasn’t mysterious and for lack of a better word tranquil, all of destiny 1’s tracks aren’t combat related and fast paced, some are just perfect songs to fall asleep to, that is why I like beyond lights soundtrack much more then the others in d2, for songs like reflection and deep stone lullaby
It’s nice coming back, listening to these tracks, it does bring me hope that Bungie will return to a simpler time, where the game and lore actually mixed, where we had fireteams full of our friends, getting ready for a raid on the Vult, or stopping Crota, Oryx, the SIVA devils. Those were the days.
After these years, Destiny is over for me. So much good and so much shit happened. But memories of a carefree time remain. This soundtrack feels like a farewell to my gaming days.

I get some This War of Mine Feels from this one at points of the song.
I thought I was listening to Subwoofer Lullaby when I heard that first note lol, the quality and reverb of the harp sounded exactly like it
...btw my music is in autoplay and I was reading
Nostalgia
Am I the only one getting a Japanese jrpg vibe from this? Like this would be the song played when you find a hidden area that is scared or something. Like a hidden pool for the gods or something.
Bungie should really add d1 tower music to d2
Seriously. They should definitely put this back into Destiny 2’s tower.
I NOW KNOW MY DESTINY
Grande Richar Betacode!!! Que temazo!!!!
When can i get this game back…
I know what Zenyatta would say if he was here...
Gaming Gumball • EXPERIENCE TRANQUILITY
Class
Destiny 1 was just better. Such a magical experience.
crying, i genuinely miss this game and to see how badly bungie have ruined their franchise through greed, shit hurts. i’ll take the memories i made on destiny 1 to the grave though. wont find magic like that nowhere else.
How could they leave Martin O'Donnell... It's just not the same music without him
If it helps, Marty didn't write this song.
Can we get a smooth jazz version of this song?
You like jazz?
JZ Jora jazzzzzz izzzzz epic
Sounds like the Xbox 1 rare achievement sound
Pink Floyd, is that you?
Who else is here from Excision?
reminds me of kill zone for some reason
Its a shame to see where Bungie took this franchise
the story fell apart the instant they introduced the Witness and retconned the black fleet to not be the darkness equivalent of the traveler anymore (now the veil is that for some reason). imo the franchise peaked in season of arrivals
@@lucklessfool People call me crazy when I say this. Finally, someone with sense
Someone in 2025?
