With all the memes of Taniks being in Final Shape, it was really funny watching the day 1 race and seeing everyone type "TANIKS?!" in chat. Then, going to another stream, and see everyone doing the same on that other stream's chat.
The sound of his shotgun going off echoing throughout the whole room is incredible and compliments how hard this song goes
It’s also worth noting how old this taken probably is given his red coloration
Isn’t that just because it’s been chimera-ified. Like what the witness does with all its most important subjects (Rhulk & Nex were both chimeras with a similar texture) the Dread also possess a similar texture
@@kevinzurbrugg1310 Not with the taken. It’s a rare phenomenon since taken aren’t meant to live very long but we’ve seen it happen with Morgeth from Last Wish and Malok in D1’s April update

It looks like Taniks. The head shape is almost identical. He’s now dead again so being taken isn’t out of the question. Also was originally fallen and seems sentient to some extent. “The herald calls _______ to battle” “the herald celebrates your failure” when you wipe.

Calus actually only ever wanted tk be the herald of the end. Finality is the end so this guy truly got the title calus wanted. He atleast gets a statue in this encounter along with nez and rhulk. The 3 middle statues are to represent the 3 disciples

That’s what confused me? Like what? Why isn’t this the damage phase part? You know? Like we finally break the barrier and we can finally get retribution on the boss. This should have been played during dps. Not after.

@@locohito I think it is a combination of "Dissenter" and the aforementioned song. The intro of the encounter locks me in so much. I love every bit of it.

By far my favorite encounter in the entire raid. The structure, the mechanics, mf gigga chad Taniks coming back for one last ride and the music MY GOD. Seeing everyone pull out swords and charge him followed by just the sheer amount of explosions and the screen shacking as you attack him is so damn badass
He and his annoying ass 4 stasis attendants spawning oneshotting you if they sync their shots with 2 solar resistances is what stopped my attempts at day 1 :( At least their damage will be reasonable with the contest mode off.
Damage is reasonable, but the Stasis is still annoying as hell if you don't manage to immediately jump them once they spawn.
@@OpThomastic118 they oneshoted me when they all 4 shot at the same time at me and I wasn't able to devour it up.
But yeah, no contest made is piss easy for suriving.
At that point it was just execution via firing line. But yes, the whole encounter became downright easy once contest mode ended, since the attendants couldn't one-shot you nor keep you from the plates when you could kill them back just as fast.

I kinda wish some or at least one of the encounters were a disciple
I was hoping we might have got either Nezarec back for another boss fight or a previously unknown Disciple. There were hints of there being actually another from some Lightfall lore, but we still don't know if this one has been long dead or not.

Are we SURE this is Taniks being taken? Last I checked, his head was different (and we should know because anyone who’s beaten the DSC raid has his severed head as a trophy in their camp).
The witness can simply change the armor of anything it wanted
I think its just a big meme. In reality we have no solid info on who this guy might have been. My opinion is that he's just a House Salvation guy that was chosen to be the herald

Getting stuck in this encounter during contest mode long enough to throw in the towel, the only thing I wasn't sick of about it was the music. It's just so damn good.

It very well could be Taniks, when enemies become taken it slightly alters their appearance. Taniks has somewhat the same head shape, and when he 'probably' became taken it slightly altered his head and cloak. To the people saying it's not possible well this is a game with insane possibilitys, i mean we are literally paracausal super enhanced weapons of war capable of killing gods so please be open minded lmfaoooo

@@Goldiiee That's exactly the thing. Its a blank skate. If it were Chelchis, Bungie would've named it Chelchis. So the fact that its not means this is just some rando Eliksni.
If it were Taniks, Bungie would also let us know via boss design, music, or name. Neither of those share a resemblance to Taniks. Not to mention that Taniks is most likely done with since he was a Raid boss already and we have his helmet at the Europa camp.
I have no clue why people are fixating on this boss so much. Nothing points to it being either or yet people want to keep spreading misinformation about it. So many people actually think its Taniks or Chelchis, its crazy. And if Chelchis is actually introduced in the future, people are going to look back at this and say "OMg HeS BaCK" and call Bungie lazy for reusing a boss.

Since Fikrul became a disciple of the Witness, either the Herault of finality is a scorn who became the Witness's protector, or when Fikrul stormed the Warlord ruin, he was able to kidnap a few members of the house of kings and deliver them to the witness
What? Fikrul hated the witness. He's never been even interested in the witness, because it stole his 'children', as he says.

Practically every OST version of raid tracks sounds completely different from in game while also managing to be worse. IDK how they keep doing it

Unlikely to be Chelchis, Oryx took him and I doubt the Witness would just bring back one of Oryx's old Taken. It's probably a House Salvation guy that got promoted after Eramis ran
@@S0M3GUY778 There's no saying it's not Chelchis, the Taken were left leaderless after Oryx was defeated and from there command of the taken has changed hands a few times.
We never encountered Chelchis when Oryx was on the Throne, the Witness could've easily repurposed him as a taken lieutenant.

probably due to the fighting style and weird helmet. I don't recall any fallen with airplane wings heads, but the Archon priest is pretty close.
Either way, this is not Taniks and there's no evidence to suggest as much. Anyone that says otherwise is uninformed

@@greytestgrey3837 I was going to mention that, but AFAIK, there are no fallen boss models that use that exact design. I happened to remember that Hiraks (Mindbender), has a similar shaped helmet, but the Herald's looks much closer to Riksis, which was the Devils' Archon
