That mission on venus was my favorite in terms of immersion plus it was pretty difficult back then. The minotaurs were so scary back then with not crit spot or broken heavy weapons.
@@reynal_omnicide9217 The first time I met a minotaur it scared the shit out of me. Everything up to that point had been so focused on using cover, and then suddenly you get this unyielding hyperaggressive shielded monstrosity that's blink teleporting toward you while uttering that disconcerting router scream. I had to take a minute after I killed it to compose myself.
Ima give you some 4 year old ptsd real quick. You and your buds are doing the Nexus strike and its void burn week... then one single shot from the Nexus and boom you're dead. Oops bunched up too close time to go back to orbit to try again.
It’s even scarier when you realize the Vex aren’t the actual robot frames, but the Radiolarian Microorganisms contained within the frames, _and_ that they are basically one giant consciousness.
They ain't robots. The white fluid within them is actually their brain, or, rather, the Vex itself. The mechanical forms are, to the Vex, vehicles, starships, mechs. Every million Vex summarizes one Vex consciousness, meaning we haven't really done any harm to them... ...But when Oryx tried to take the Vault? The Vex knew we were the only solution. They let us in to rid them of the Taken.
The music fits perfectly with the mission A Stranger's Call, in my opinion, where the vex spawn for the first time, another of my favorite soundtrack ^_^

Damn, I’ll never forget this first encounter with the Vex. The music and the atmosphere was amazing. Everything just seemed to fit in with this mission.
My favorite Sci fi creature race that bends your logic. Imagine that they taken over a neutron star where they could turn that into any exotic material they want since they are a liquid race that always eats energy to run their simulations. Then being able to bleed through space-time like water going through the cracks within stone establishing junctions and nexus teleporting through time just to turn the universe in a machine to rival the end of time. An evil that cuts so deep it despises other evil.
Last part makes no sense as the Vex don't have any morality due to they're alien nature. Strangers talk of despising other evil doesn't match up with current lore especially with the witness and it's disciples being the big bads.
"As I stepped into the decaying library, my motion tracker began going haywire, detecting movement all around. As he said it, eight odd machines appeared in front of me. Glowing red eyes and shimmering cores greeted me, as well as a barrage of gunfire. I wondered as began cutting them down "Is this what that transmission was? A trap? or a test?"
It was so amazing seeing the Vex for the first time. The way they dropped down, and then stalled before falling the rest of the way, made me think the other side of the time portal is in some Vex factory and it's lowering them through the portal with robotic mechanisms or something. EDIT: I could've sworn they do that, but in other videos I find, they don't.
Bare in mind they're all part of a collective, a liquid state intelligent matter. So yeah when they assume machine forms, a larger "mind" unit controls them. I recall ghost explaining something similar, 1million units to a mind. I always had this idea that the true source, the most powerful would be known as something like the Emperor mind or the Supreme mind, like Quria. And i envisioned this insanely vast command palace, utterly swarming with dozens of hydras protecting it. Probably because it's similar to the doctor who episode where they meet the emperor Dalek 😂😂😂
4 years late, but you're not wrong. In the watery depths of the pyramidion these machines are grown from the gestation lakes, and sent through the void to appear before us. Have you ever noticed how (at least in D1), whenever vex appear they appear with a raincloud?
The Vex have always been my favourite enemies. I would always hang out in the Ishtar Cliffs just for the Vex sacrifice PE and I would always be near the Vex to figure out the best and quickest ways to kill them. They were always fun and interesting, and they still are.
This I think was in the Nexus strike aswell(remember that strike) and that hydra would blast the shit outta you as your running laps around the boss area as minis chase you
And to think, the Vex aren’t actually robots, but microscopic organisms living in radiolarian fluid. Or maybe the radiolarian itself is a sentient liquid? (Like some forms of Phazon or Immulsion?) either way, the robots themselves are just vehicles to them.
Ah, I remember the harder version of this first mission where the Axis Minotaurs show up instead of the standard ones and you have to fight a bunch of them. That was pain. I miss those days.
My first round. I remember when I got to where Sekrion was, this song started playing. 1:44 everything went dark and hundreds of red eyes were shining, in the middle of the battle 3:03 I looked at Sekrion bathed in a white light surrounded by his machines that danced in a circle while shooting at me, that scene, I could feel trembling in my hands and the guardian's weapon, I wondered, what am I fighting against?
MajCorpsie Well the Season of Undying trailer was mostly an updated version of a leaked cutscene from way back in D1, so it kind of makes sense that they’d use D1-based music. Also it fits the best because, yes there are other Vex themes in D2, but this is the original, the one that bears their name.

JJPL4YZ Maybe. That's like the origin of the Fallen atleast. Once, they were a noble race. Once upon a time, the Great Machine sided with them. They too had their own Golden Age. Reasons that can only be spectated upon, the Great Machine parted ways. After the Great Machine parted ways, they faced a harsh event called the "Whirl-Wind". An event so tragic that they might as well have lost everything. They ended up having a civil war within their torn up civilization. They ended up making peace and together, they wandered across the vastness of space hoping to "meet" the Great Machine once more.
The vex cannot simulate the light, therefore they attempt to study it rather than destroy it. Their ultimate goal is to transform the universe into a simulation where they are essentially God
JJ the vex cant just wipe all humans and guardians because vex are more focused on things that makes them a perfect future. Like panoptes the infinite mind in destiny 2 wanted to destroy light and darkness so there will be only existance of the vex
