As someone who used to absolutely love this series it’s so sad to see the game end up in the state it’s been in since beyond light. I don’t even know how to explain it, but destiny 2 just… doesn’t feel like destiny anymore. The worst part about all of this is you can’t even play the older destiny 2 content, and if the studio keeps going in the direction it is now, we might never see any of it again outside of the recordings online

Lance loved his role in Destiny and reportedly even played the game before his passing. I didn´t know him personally, but considering the reports of the past, he would be more than happy to see the community care for him so much and pay their respects by calling him "commander":

I think its always funny when people act like destiny has some sort of lore presented within the game, which it hasnt(ok, now since forsaken a lol bitl, but i bet 99,9% of all destiny players dont knoe shit about a doomsslayer or any "epic" charscters, cause nothing is told you ingame, absolutely nothing. For me destiny has no real Story, no interesting characters, and especially no interesting lore. Grimoire doesnt count, its something bungie out on a website. I dont play Website, i play. Destiny, so i will never know such guys like this awesome titan he is reffering to.... Btw, i bet he didnt do a headbutt, but a shoulder charge instead. Thats his best one hit kill attack anyway ;P

@@thericepotato5847 true time is a mess in the infinite forest but S-14 was in there for a very long time before we even entered the infinite forest... thousands of years (time passes alot quicker in the IF) so technically no he's still dead in our timeline...in fact probably been dead for awile...now that doesn't mean your wrong just cause we can't see him in our timeline doesn't mean we can't go back in time to when he is still alive in his own timeline and meet him.
saint-14s being respected by the vex is amazing when you think about it. they built a mind specifically for the protection of his tomb, that fights aggressively like a titan and releases a disorienting bubble around itself mirroring saint-14s abilities.

Everybody here talking about Saint-14, but I'm over here reminiscing about the Red War. Waking up, lightless, slowly making your way out of the destroyed city. And hearing this absolutely beautiful song really set the mood for the story.

@@Grisht_ Saint-14, the Titan in the picture. We found his Body buried in a Tomb the Vex had built him out of the corpses and bodies of the Vex he killed in the infinite forest. We altered time and changed the course of events which led to him surviving instead. This song is more or less considered to be Saint's theme from Curse of Osiris.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a mode in destiny 2, which is single player only, where you play through the stories of different characters from destiny lore. Like, imagine a short mini-campaign about Saint 14 fighting off the vex, or playing as the iron lords against Siva, and you would use the weapons in the game that they once did, and eventually your character could aquire their weapons. Ooooooh what if when you unlock certain exotics, it gives you access to a short campaign or a single mission which is a flashback explaining it's backstory. That would be fucking awesome.

This is probably the single best piece of music from this game. If it was paired with the mission and a cutscene was added where you slowly walked up to him in that cool looking area would be amazing. Almost shed a tear thinking about that. Music really is powerful and can make or break any game.

The Red Legion already proved that a well coordinated attack could potencially destroy us. They took us by surprise on a Celebration day, destroyed the defense Satellites and incapacitated the Traveler, weakening us guardians and taking the Last City, killing lightless guardians.
Now, the Traveler's awake, but its repairing itself. A well coordinated attack could weaken us again, leaving us open for annahilation.
This song just hits home with me now... everything i loved about this game has fallen apart in front of me... the gameplay isn't the same, my clan is gone, my friends don't play anymore, lance riddick is gone, our music composer is gone and the game is in such a bad state from what it was and could have been... 10 years of cherished memories... and that's all i have left...
I'm sorry you are going through it right now, it may just be a game to some but it's clearly something much more to people like you and me. It's also important to realize that time changes everything, maybe you're just not feeling it anymore, maybe you dont have the same amount of time to devote to the game and that hinders your drive to play. it's never too late to get out there and make some new friends who feel the same way you do. I hope Into the Light and Final Shape are bangers and give you that drive to play again!

There have been only a couple of songs that made me feel emotional and made me actually tear up. This is one of them. This, to me is Salvatori's best piece. Bungie really did fumbe hard by firing him.

Saint-14 is easily one of the coolest characters we've had the honor of having in the Destiny universe..
It actually makes me sad he's gone. He was a living legend we only heard about. Was best friends with the infamous Osiris, and was the strongest titan to ever live.
Yet he looked up to us........our Guardian. And he strived to be like us. As a guardian, hearing that. Made my heart grow with so much strength and light.
He fought the Vex with so much power and heart that he made a cold, unfeeling army of robots respect him. And build a tomb where they protect his body for eternity.
I know I'm sounding super nerdy right now. But I'm a Destiny player till the very end. Much love Guardians.

Dont call yourself a nerd cody. I dont know you from a hole in the wall but if youre here as a guardian i can be damn well positive that you have been blessed by our worlds own version of light to experience what it means to be a guardian.

And that you, are a Guardian. That you are a vessel of light to push back any darkness of any kind. Be happy you are a guardian. Saint-14: WASSUP BITCHES
From the moment we woke up in the Cosmodrone, to our first crucible match Saint 14 trusted us in bringing change. He knew of our Crota's End. How we would kick the Hive of the moon. He also knew that when he left his tower post to find Osiris on Mercury, he knew for sure he wouldn't return. Yet he still stayed for more than a few centuaries. Maybe the final headbutt he gave the Kell shook up his exo brain.
When we finally arrive on Mercury in D2 he had killed enough vex to end a war. The bodies formed a bed where he died his final death, yet his light still remains. touching the walls and kissing the vex body an eternal farewell. His final words were given to us via the Perfect Paradox Shotgun were he adresses us individually. He handles us the weapon before it is given, before it is made.

I just heard this in the tower's H.E.L.M. and just sat there tearing up. I don't know when this originally played in the game...but god the beginning of Destiny 2 will forever be in my mind as the best opening in any game i've played...
It makes me think of everything we've lost in the game. Cayde, the first tower, the vaulted planets and stories...still mad about that but oh well...

Yea I first played destiny a long time ago and came back in splicer, I was just sitting in orbit and this song came on and oh man did I tear up. It brought back so many memories of the greatest moments like first getting a exotic and exploring and discovering the world of destiny for the first time. Man just hearing the music makes me happy

I started playing destiny 2 back in season of dawn, and as much as it pains me to say, I'll admit, I've kinda stopped caring about destiny for a good while now. I specifically stopped playing back in season of the deep. I get it's a looter shooter, but the fact it got to where the seasonal mission was more or less the same, just with a little extra tacked on each week, is what lead to me losing interest, and it sadly just hasn't been able to draw me back in. But the what I'll never forget, is the music, atmosphere, and of course the memories. Now, it just gives a sense of nostalgia and melancholy, but also a kind of comfort. Even if my time with the game is done, I'm more than glad the music is still here for me to relive those memories.

to be honest, a part of me is sad that they bought back saint. I liked that degree of mystique he held when all we had to go off of were lore pages and this mission, which was lost when he was bought back to life and fleshed out. I do like his character, but I will miss that degree of mystery and wonder surrounding him.
I feel you, it was like he was myth, a legend. Seemed larger than life, but with him back most of the magic is gone
kinda reminds me of what they did with Ada after the Black Amory season, she seems less mysterious now that she's in the tower, even down the to the things she says. seems more friendly and inviting now.

I feel this way about destiny in general. We know so much now, and have killed more than we know. In the beginning, everything was so ramshackle, barely held together through grit and faith in the light. No one knew what the traveler was, only that it protects us. Now here we are, almost at the end of the light and darkness story. Gods are slain, enemies are allies, and everything is much cleaner than it used to be
I'm lowkey hoping that they never introduce Shin Malphur physically. As cool as it'd be to meet the OG Golden Gun, I really like the concept of him being a stalwart observer; Always distant, yet always watching.

Even after all these years, I still have to hold back a tear when listening to this.
This song awakens so many emotions in me that I have to cry. This song speaks to me. It tells me that no matter how difficult life is for you, there is always hope. That everything will get better at some point. You have to believe in yourself, trust yourself and value yourself. It's all a question of attitude. Never forget, wherever there is light, there is hope.
Friend of mine got banned for what we believe to be account sharing with other clanmates to help each other get runs through vaults and dungeons for great rolls on guns and armor. He appears to be the only one that got banned. When the whole clan could get a raid together, we took a photo after each one, he was the glue that held us together. Rat pack raid clears, iron banner titan bubble spam, broken mechanics, so many good memories. My point is, if you have a clan or dedicated crew, cherish them. You never know when it's over. I don't know if I can forgive bungie for that.

Even though I’m glad saint’s walkin again, I feel as if he was more valuable to our story as a legend, as he was pre “resurrection.” Just something about an old legend who’s inspired by you just feels great, but now he’s just chilling in the hangar doin nothing. Dunno, feel he was more useful as a legend than he is now
SAME I love Saint being in the game right now. Make no mistake. This'll sound messed up but I mean it nicely I promise. Saint was so much cooler dead. Knowing you were the one that kept him going and was the reason he became who he is though is badass in it's own way

I hear this song play in orbit from time to time and I always stop whatever I'm doing to listen to this masterpiece. I've played Destiny for a long time now and hearing this song always helps bring echos of younger days back, sometimes I even get teary eyed.

I was walking around the Farm during the Season of Defiance when this started playing at one point and I just had to sit down and look at the night sky, reminiscing of the early days of the game. At that point it had been six years since I last played, so being able to hear a different rendition of the song that played as I escaped the Last City back when the game originally launched felt... oddly bittersweet, in a way. Although I do wish I would've picked up this game again earlier than I actually did.
Bittersweet is definitely the right word, I think. I stopped playing after Warmind and only came back with Defiance and Lightfall. It's totally different now from where things were in D2 Year One but hearing Journey again was really comforting. Yes, everything has changed but it's still that same game we escaped to all those years ago.
Here's to hoping this saga comes to a fitting conclusion.

Without a doubt, one of the best songs to come out of any video game.
This man went out like a champion! Mountains of VEX body's, Pushing himself to his utmost limit. And in the end after fighting for hundreds of years in that vault. the VEX actually ended up respecting him!. Holy Shit! i just wish we knew more about him other then reading the Grimorie, again with Activison's intent of spiting the story into pieces to be sold down the line. I just love the lore behind this game, and i hope one day it will live up to it's potential and give us a game that we all saw back in E3. one day...
I have that same hope friend, it's why I haven't given up on Destiny 2 yet.

Saint 14 story made me remeber a true story of the world war 2 about three Brazilians who fought so bravely that the germans built a grave for them. The tombs were made in Montese, Italy.
