ok dude you seem to have experience with both devices. i got my edge yesterday and first i took a listen to short attack/decay in more dark sound and i hear clicks n clicks 😩 is the dfam same behaviour or is less? i hate that clicks on analog devices, my xoxbox drove me crazy with that already 🤯
@@yukuzoona6604 I ended up never picking up the Edge but the DFAM is a mono analog device... I have a moog mixer that came with it but there has been times when using it with pedals and other setups and id get some audio defects here and there... But overall the sounds that come from the DFAM can range from industrial beats to clicks and beeps etc all depending on the settings... analog is "classic" technology sometimes the imperfections in sound is why people love them so much... All depends what you're looking for... I currently don't own any Behringer products... I'm not sure if they are poorly constructed... Everyone i know who is anti-behringer will say it's junk but also anyone i know who owns behringer product clones say their great and well made... Maybe your Edge is defective?

I really love the sound but man this noise knob is holding for it's life 🥲 Are they all wobbly like that? I'm worried about build quality and if there's something we can do to make it better?
It has a particular sound to it that I’m finding in nearly every demo. It sounds good for what it does but I just wouldn’t find a reason to incorporate one of these into my studio.
I guess it depends on whether you want this sound/genre in your arsenal. It seems to me like a fun rhythmic tool, even if it gets buried or deleted from a final mix. Edge might lead one's creativity in unexpected directions. It might also get boring after a short time. The reviews of DFAM ought to give an indication of how long users can tolerate this sound. 😸

I don't think most ppl will be able to do even close to what you're doing with it, but I do think its exactly what everyone knows is possible / loves this type of minimalist synth/sequencer classic monophonic entire beat vibe . Fantastic! I try dong this on the JDxA but that's got 4 analog parts which is a ton more and yet I usually only ever get about as much going on as you do

Thanks! Most people just pronounce the letters individually. Back in the day when choosing the name the idea was that it would be pronounced Dimension :) but I know that is far from obvious 😅

I feel like you could toss a few fx on it to change the sound significantly and still use it as the basis for your percussion

Are the beats here produced by Edge or you have a beat going through the midi/audio input?
Sounds like all Edge to me. It’s a percussive synth with a sequencer. Drums are its jam (much like the Moog DFAM it’s patterned after).
…checked the vid description. Says it’s just the Edge run into “effects coming from Ableton” (delay, reverb, etc.)
