Great running session. Got to see the Fying Scottsman when she was here in Australia for the bicentennial celebrations. Actually I was surprised on how small she was compared to the NSW C38 class 3801 when double heading.Great video as always Sam
Fantastic running session Sam, you really do come up with great ideas for these sessions. I really enjoyed seeing "Princess Elizabeth" hauling the Pullman rake, that looked majestic. I also enjoyed the GWR locos, as you know i am a huge Great Western fan. I look forward to your next video. Be well and keep safe, regards Gary.
A very nice running session Sam. I really liked all of the locos you chosed for the video, they're all great in my opinion, very good choices. Its great to see that many classes of steam locomotives haven't dissapear by the ''revolutionary'' perpective of the British Railways. I'm really excited for what you're going to do next, because we're getting closer to christmas. Anyways, hope you're having a very nice day and keep up the good work.
I totally like the video, that's one theme I've got for my railroad, that it's a tourist railroad, with steam engines, diesel engines, & classic passenger cars, I'm a fan of tourist railroads and preserved locomotives, BTW, the Union Pacific steam program is going to have Big Boy 4014 up and running next year for the 150th anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad
Whilst I haven't seen any of these outside of the obvious ones, I do have a funny story about seeing 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley. My grammar might have given it away, but I am not a UK native, so I can't really come and visit your great preserved railways often. So when I came to Yorkshire for the first time, I wanted to ride the NYMR, and see 60007 in person. So just as I sat down, the guard came over, interested by the fact I of course wasn't speaking English. So we exchange greetings and I ask him if 60007 was still somewhere on the Line, to which he answered "Oh dear, she has just pulled her last service this morning. She must be put aside to be sent off for boiler repairs." Me, quite upset about it, got of at Grossmont (or was it Gothland...) and went to see the workshops and the yard, and against all odds, there she was, just having a final washdown before overhaul! That marks the first and so far only time I have seen an A4 in working order, or at least one who was in working order up untill a few hours before!
1466 was Didcot Railway Centre's first ever loco! The 28xx 2807 I went on the real one this year which is based at the Gloucester and Warwickshire Railway. Two M7 preserved, most people only know 30053 but there's 245 at the NRN. Tangmere I saw on a mainline charter at Exeter almost 5 years ago! Terrier are nice, they are all South London region
Ooh is that so?? What a lovely engine it is! Thanks a lot for the info - I'd definitely love to see an M7 one day in real life! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Wow that princess royal class looks amazing and went be hind Canadian Pacific many years ago was her last day in service too fantastic video dan and Kaitlyn 😀😀
Thanks a lot mate - yeah they are superb models! Blimey - you did well to get her on her last day, must have been quite sad though :( Thanks for watching - Sam :)
A fun, yet melancholy and nostalgic theme. Of course, when trains and such things are discontinued, no one is thinking that nostalgia will kick in and people will miss these things.
Definitely sad to think about how many got away, before they could have had a chance at being preserved. LMS’s 2290 “Big Bertha” on the British side and one of Hiawatha’s on the US side would be the two locomotives that I’d crawl over broken glass to see remade.
Sam'sTrains - Do you know if Hornby or anyone else ever made a model of Big Bertha? That would be an amazing review! Such a unique locomotive, at any rate. :D
Don't forget the LNER Hush Hush that and it's streamling rebuilt. Many said this was to challenge the record for the LNER again after Mallard broke it. They say Sir Nigel wasn't impress with the magin so the Hush Hush being said to push even more power than the most powerful LMS Cornation would of been something to see also.
Late to the game, but I do want to say that it’s quite fitting that the mother nation of trains is the worlds leading nation in railway preservation. Videos like these help to showcase that. Smashing work, Sam!
My aunt finally gave me my own Hornby set!! I have a 9f a pannier tank gwr and the flying Scotsman! With some teak coaches and some freight cars! I always wanted my own set
Hopefully I'll be flying over to England in January for a trip to York to see the Railway Museum! I'm so excited! Have you ever been? Would you recommend anything train related near London or York? Thanks
That's absolutely brilliant - yes I've been and it's very good! I'm not from that area, but I'm sure there will be, if you do a quick online search! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Another interesting running session Sam, I've seen most of those featured in real life over the years, and it's quite fascinating how many have worked in preservation for many more years than they ever did in BR service...May I also take this opportunity is wish you and your Family a Very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year, and look forwards to more great videos from you in 2019...Bob
Thanks a lot Bob - and yes that is very interesting actually - a real credit to them! That's very kind of you mate, I wish you and your family all the same, have a very Happy Christmas! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hello Sam, a wonderful running session of preserved steam locomotives in model form, I gave you this idea remember? My favourite preserved steam locomotive, The Flying Scotsman as you already know. I think I seen most of these steam locomotives during my visits to several heritage railways and the National Railway Museum in York, all except 35005 Canadian Pacific, Whitechapel and 34067 Tangmere, I got to see in the future. Don't forget to do another running session of running more preserved steam locomotives in model form in the New Year. 😉
Thank you Jordan, appreciate it mate - yes quite a few people suggested this, it was a great idea! Wow that's fantastic - I've seen very few of them myself, so you've done well! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Aww, that was amazing! Great video with the preserved locos from history’s past. Beautiful looking locomotives. My personal favorite is the A3 Flying Scotsman. Thank you for including him in this video, as well as the others. Merry Christmas Sam! Have a great run with these locos! Your Friend, Sai
I love this running session, but fun fact about the 9F #92214, she actually carried 2 different names. One of them being the same name as the LNER P2 (cock o' the north) and the other being leicester city (the one she carries now and carried the BR unlined black. Sorry for getting very technical, but just had to point it out.
Sam’s Trains I like and love Rocket since 1829, The 4472 Flying Scotsman since February 1923; 5972 Olton Hall since April 30, 1937; The 9Fs from 1954 to 1960, GNR Stirling 4-2-2 from 1870 to 1895, and The Black Fives from 1934 to 1951. They’re one of my favorite British 🇬🇧 steam locomotive engine trains with coal tenders.
It can be done on DC, you just need to hope that your locos run at similar speeds, and that they have couplings on the front and back! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Great video Sam! Just wanted to let you know, at the end I bought a Fleischmann digital starter set because it was available in a store in the city where I live. Those german models are very detailed!
Hi Sam, Great Video! I had an idea for a future running session. Mainline Rail Tour steam engines, that run on the mainline as of 2018. Thanks for making these videos again sam!
Hi Sam! Found your channel recently. I have a couple questions about Flying Scotsman: do you have any models of it with the double tenders, and do you know if the real engine ever ran with both the double tenders and smoke deflectors at the same time?
Hey! Welcome to the channel! Sadly I don't have any with the double tender, but Hornby did make some once! I'm not certain of whether she ever ran with double tenders AND smoke deflectors - you'll have to see if there are any images of that! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hi Sam, My favourite was Tangmere but I have see Cheltenham as I live near where its based. I have also seen 53808, Flying Scotsman and Mallard. Thanks for the video
Lovely video Sam hope u dont mind me mentioning a few other preserved classes such as bulleid Q1 raven Q6 Adams radial and O2 lms crab and one of my favs gwr 43xx
Hello, Sam! What was that jazz tune at the beginning? I definitely would like to listen to the full thing! Also, I think the loco I would have liked to see preserved were the LNER Q1s. They were an Ivatt design, and were nicknamed "Long Toms" due to how big they were at the time.
Hey! It was a remix by DJ quads, called Fun Time I think.... the original records were better though ;D Ooh yes - I would have loved seeing those preserved too!! :O Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hello Sam. I love your running sessions. My favorite locomotive was "Mallard." I never been outside the US. But, I have seen "Mallard" operating in a youtube video. It is a shame that steam is no longer used. I like diesel, but I just found out my preference. It is steam. Have a Happy New Year, mate.
Hey!! Thanks somuch, really glad you like them - I love Mallard too! It is a shame that they don't use steam any more - but there's still a fair bit on heritage lines and things! :D Thanks for watching, and happy new year - Sam :)
Definitely the Terrier 0-6-0 and I have seen one under fire and restored to Classic A1 before the A1X modification, and that was Fenchurch at Bluebell. But it’s VERY tough to choose a second favorite, I love the Merchant Navy, the 7F, Olson Hall, Battle Of Britain, GWR 14xx, Duke Of Gloucester, Flying Scotsman, Mallard, the 9Fs, I can’t choose!!!! They’re all beautiful!!!! LOL!!!!
Good choice Chris - yes the Terriers are superb things, for sure! And those are all worthy second favourites - very hard to choose! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Very nice video Sam. I am afraid that I am a fan of LNER and have made a start on "Yorkdale", which will be a LNER Preservation Railway layout. I am very confused by the "Blood and Custard" coaches. Which ones were run on the East Coast Main Line? Sometimes I see them advertised as Crimson and Custard. Some of the old Teaks were repainted, but for which route? Sorry for all the questions. Martin (Thailand) My vote goes to "Mallard"
Thanks a lot Martin - hmmm I'm not entirely sure about that - all I know is that it's a BR livery, but that's where my knowledge ends sadly! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Love the video and the collection as well Sam. I now have three non Thomas steam engines if I include Smokey Joe but the other two are GWR ones that are wrapped up waiting under the tree for Christmas. Those reviews will come in the new year. Not sure if you are a subscriber to my channel but I thought I would let you know because I can tell that you love steam trains the most of the three types of traction and I didn't want you to miss out either mate :). Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2019. All the best Ash. EDIT: I was hoping to see the model of the Duchess of Sutherland because the real LMS Coronation 8P class has recently been working a Railtour as I saw a video of her at Lincoln recently. But anything GWR and LMS is in my favourites.
Thank you Ash - really glad you enjoyed it! Ooh that's awesome - hope you enjoy them on Christmas day mate, can't wait to see them in your videos! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
It’s a shame that so little LNER engines have been saved from the cutters touch. Wish there were more of them! My favourite today would of been the 14xx, a true Great Western Survivor! Hey Sam! I have some Locos and Rolling Stock that I don’t want. If you are interested in them then do let me know! James ;)
I agree - it's a great shame that no more were saved - but at least we have some! That's very kind of you mate, but you'd be better to list them somewhere online, like Ebay - then you'll get a better price for them! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
My favorite defiantly has to be the Mallard. She is one fantastic beast. :) And I had no idea Whitechapel’s been preserved. Speaking of which, have u looked up that metal band Whitechapel I told you about Sam? They’re one of my favorites. :)
seen mallard and many of her sisters managed to ride in sir nigel gresley's footplate as they ran the loco round the train at pickering, i have seen flying Scotsman after her restoration she ran down a railway line near my old high school. I have seen 'Hogwarts castle' olton hall at the nyrm. I have came across evening starr. I have not met tangemere but have seen city of wells as she is based at a preserved line near where i live
Hi Sam, nice video. I've seen Mallard and Evening Star ( I think most people have), Olton Hall, but as Hogwarts Castle at the Warner Bros. Studio and the 7f, which was at the SVR Spring Steam Garla 2018. I have seen light Pacifics and a 14xx, but not the ones in the video. George
Great session Sam :) People who complain about the large number of GWR locos inpreservation as opposed to other companies are just being igorent. (and I'm not talking about Sam here, just the moaners). There is only one reason why so many GWR locos survived and others didn't, the fact that Woodhams scrap yard in Barry only cut up a few of the locos sent there, whilst other scrap yards cut up nearly eveything they recieved. Barry was on the Western Region, the territory of the old GWR and brought most of its scrapers from old GWR sheds, so most of them were former GWR types. Woodhams did save a few other LMS, Southern and BR standards as well, and the fact that Woodhams only saved one LNER loco is pure luck, a B1 that had failed at Newport and scraped rather than be sent for repair. Had say springburn Metals in Glasgow been the one not so keen to cut everything up instead of Woodhams we would have had a majority of LNER and former Scottish Railways North British, Calidonian etc) locos spared instead. And besides would these complainers wish Woodhams had cut up most of those engnes that survive now in the name of a very much smaller yet more 'balanced' preseration fleet? Sorry but this kind of ignorence does make my blood boil. And again I'm NOT talking to Sam here, just the moaners, just to be clear. Anyway Sam, an idea for a future running sesh. Named trains, for eample The Flying Scotsman through out the years, starting with thhe C1atlantic, then a A3 or A4 and finally a Deltic, or the Royal scott, could be a royal scot class, or for a later train, a Princess, Coronatio / Dutchess, etc. Other, The Master Cutler, Cornish Rivera Express, The Bristolian, The Brighton Bell, The Golden Arrow, Atlantic Coast Express... or even friegt specials such as The Condor or The Night Owl Keep up the good work Jon PS fave today - Princess Elizabeth. Seen in real life, certainly Princess Elizabeth, Royal Scot, Flying Scotsman, Mallard, Tangmere, Evening Star, the 28xx and the Duke of Gloucester.
haha thanks Jon - I agree, I'm grateful for anything that was saved from scrap, regardless of where it came from! Great idea on names trains by the way - I'll have to take you up on that one next year! And old Liz is definitely a golden loco! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Great video, if the snow gets really bad you have those two snow plows. You know I think 'Mallard' is the most famous engine, hockey fanatic 'La Barbara Folle' knows about Mallard and we are talking French Canadian here. Nearest I have come to seeing any of your models in real life is when I saw 'Dominion of Canada' in St. Constanct QC.
Sam, i have an idea for a series of running days: you have locos from different heritage lines, for example, a gcr day,a nvr day, an nnr day, and what have you..
There are 2 royal scots preserved, and there are 2 princess royals left. Princess elizabeth and princess margaret rose of the princess royal class. 46100 and 46115 (Scots Guardsman and Royal Scot) are both preserved. NIce video and merry early christmas, man. I am jealous of you. I would love to have some hornby steam engines.
Ahh I'd forgotten there was another Royal Scot - that's pretty awesome! Thanks for the info - and Merry Christmas to you too mate! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
The Flying Scotsman Locomotive was named after the train not the other way around with the train originally being pulled by a J70 and later being pulled by a City Class although the Locomotive named after the train never actually pulled the train (which was painted GWR green). Thomas is the most well-known GWR Locomotive. I've seen them all, even driven a few although you forgot the trolley and I've also driven that
I saw the Mallard in Aylesbury station in the late 60s, I was very disappointed with the amount of dents in the panels on the side of the loco. Made it look like really thin tin sheet.
If you are going to do a double heading session, you should put on Gordon and Spencer and do something to make either of them jealous of being the front engine.
Great running session. Got to see the Fying Scottsman when she was here in Australia for the bicentennial celebrations. Actually I was surprised on how small she was compared to the NSW C38 class 3801 when double heading.Great video as always Sam
Thanks a lot Jose - blimey you were lucky to see the Scotsman over there, that must have been awesome! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Thanks very much Gary - really glad you liked this one! Yeah I do love the GWR stuff too! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Thank you Valentino - really glad you liked the locos I picked!!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I've seen one of the 2800's! They are lovely locomotives, they've got a proper great western cylinder beat!
That's awesome - I'm yet to see one running! That sounds fantastic though :3
Thanks for watching - Sam :)

Me, quite upset about it, got of at Grossmont (or was it Gothland...) and went to see the workshops and the yard, and against all odds, there she was, just having a final washdown before overhaul!
That marks the first and so far only time I have seen an A4 in working order, or at least one who was in working order up untill a few hours before!
Ooh blimey, what a story that is! Well at least you got to see her, just at the last minute!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)

Wow that princess royal class looks amazing and went be hind Canadian Pacific many years ago was her last day in service too fantastic video dan and Kaitlyn 😀😀
Thanks a lot mate - yeah they are superb models! Blimey - you did well to get her on her last day, must have been quite sad though :(
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
04:04 is the same train that worked in newbiggin in 1903
Very cool! Thanks for letting me know! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
And that is close to me 😄😄😃
35005 Canadian Pacific is currently based at Mid Hants and is under overhaul at Eastliegh, hoping to be completed around 2020 ish
Ahh fantastic, thanks for the info - let's hope all goes well with that! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
2021 now and she still isn't done
Absolutely wonderful. Great to see several of the most beautiful British steam locos as models. Like them all very much.
Thanks very much Norbert - really glad you did mate! :D

Sam :)
A fun, yet melancholy and nostalgic theme. Of course, when trains and such things are discontinued, no one is thinking that nostalgia will kick in and people will miss these things.

@@rucarnuts13 The only way you can make big bertha is trough a kit build. There are a couple of video if you want to check them out :)

Smashing work, Sam!
Thanks very much for that mate, appreciate the kind words! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
What’s the music called at 0:10 ? I think it’s very good and wanted to see if I could find a full version.
It's called fun time by DJ quads! :D
Merry Christmas,
Sam :)
My aunt finally gave me my own Hornby set!! I have a 9f a pannier tank gwr and the flying Scotsman! With some teak coaches and some freight cars! I always wanted my own set
Ooh that's fantastic - very lucky you!! That sounds like a great collection! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
You could make a Thomas series with Duck, Murdoch and either Gordon or Scotsman depending on if it has the smoke deflectors
Hopefully I'll be flying over to England in January for a trip to York to see the Railway Museum! I'm so excited! Have you ever been? Would you recommend anything train related near London or York?

Yes there is, but it sucks - DJM made one!

Merry Christmas to you too,

Hi Sam, I would love to make a brake van with a light in the back like yours and I am using a dc layout.Any help would be greatly appreciated
Hey Tobin! Yeah sure - I might do a tutorial on that one day!! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Sam, I really do enjoy watching your videos. I have yet to see a Shay locomotive among your collection. Do you have plans to ever get one?
Thanks a lot mate! I hadn't thought of that, but if you can recommend them, I can definitely look into a Shay!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains Sadly, after searching the closest thing I could find to a geared loco, is a Climax that is sold by Bachmann.
Princess Elizabeth is my favorite. Just something about that lms livery that captivates me.
Yeah I know what you mean - just wonderful things really!

Sam do you have any terriers and if so do you have stepney or boxhill
Hey! Yes I have one Terrier, but sadly it's whitechapel, so not a preserved one :/

Me too - the Rocket is a fantastic engine!! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
The main way to tell for locos operational in mainline preservation is to look for the more modern ‘⚠️ ‘
hazard symbol, used after the year 2000
Nice running section my favorite was the 7F
But my all time favorite preserved is the SE&CR 01 No 65
Thanks so much Billy, good choice! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Quick question will you ever change your layout for example A bridge or maybe some tunnels
I may do one day, who knows? I don't have plans to do that right now though!

Ahh great choice Thomas - I love Tangmere too!! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Lovely video Sam hope u dont mind me mentioning a few other preserved classes such as bulleid Q1 raven Q6 Adams radial and O2 lms crab and one of my favs gwr 43xx
Yes indeed - all worthy mentions! I would have loved to show those too - but sadly the ones I own weren't preserved :(
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hello, Sam! What was that jazz tune at the beginning? I definitely would like to listen to the full thing! Also, I think the loco I would have liked to see preserved were the LNER Q1s. They were an Ivatt design, and were nicknamed "Long Toms" due to how big they were at the time.
Hey! It was a remix by DJ quads, called Fun Time I think.... the original records were better though ;D
Ooh yes - I would have loved seeing those preserved too!! :O
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains if I may make a suggestion, I would suggest The Original Charleston by Ben Selvin's Orchestra for an Engine from the 1920's.
Thanks for watching, and happy new year - Sam :)
My favourite was tanjmire, canaidian pacific, the royal scot, the manor the 9f and the m7
Ahh awesome! Really glad you liked those too! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hi I’ve found some Australian locomotives you might like I recommend the NR class pacific national 112 it’s a great loco
That sounds awesome - thanks a lot for the tip, I'll look those up! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Great vid thanks. Happily there are two Royal Scots preserved yours plus Scots Guardsman 6115. Hurrah!
Thank you Gareth! I'd forgotten there was more than one Scot, thanks for that!
Will you ever use N scale locos? I love the Bachmann Thomas and friends ones
I would love to one day, but I don't have any plans right now :(
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Sam'sTrains thanks for replying
My favorite ones in this video is the single wheeled,Princess and gwr engines .
That's good to hear Joshua - I love those ones too!! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Sam if a motor is slightly warm on a loco is that bad or normal?
As long as it isn't burning hot, that's quite normal - don't worry about that! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Thanksgiving
I meant thanks it auto corrected to thanksgiving:)
All the best
Ash.
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Where is the Webb Coal Tank? did I miss it?
I don't remember actually - mine is preserved though, right?
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Fabulous!!!! Please could you do a preserved diesel/electric video. as in the preserved out of withdrawn ones. Thanks
Thanks mate! Ooh yes - I'll have to look at which ones I have! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
What is that music in the background of the first part of the video?
It's fun time by DJ quads - I wish I knew where the original sample came from, but I don't sadly :/
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
And I just remembered it was also DCC ready and I will also buy a controller and track to run it on with some scenic pieces
Ooh superb! Hope you enjoy it mate, good luck! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I love the 7F. im trying to save up for one. Cant explane why i like them though.
Yeah me too - they're lovely aren't they?! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I'm going to get a model train what one should i get for a cheap price
Take a look on Hatton's while they still have their big sale on - you may be able to pick one up there! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Ok thanks
My favorite defiantly has to be the Mallard. She is one fantastic beast. :)
And I had no idea Whitechapel’s been preserved. Speaking of which, have u looked up that metal band Whitechapel I told you about Sam? They’re one of my favorites. :)
Ooh yes - you can't beat Mallard, that's for sure! haha yeah I did look them up, lol! ;D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Great video Sam hope to see some preserved steam engines running in real life one day
Thanks a lot mate - ooh yeah you should definitely visit some heritage lines - it's well worth it! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Great video! I love your running sessions! :)
That's very kind of you mate, thanks a lot! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
seen mallard and many of her sisters managed to ride in sir nigel gresley's footplate as they ran the loco round the train at pickering, i have seen flying Scotsman after her restoration she ran down a railway line near my old high school. I have seen 'Hogwarts castle' olton hall at the nyrm. I have came across evening starr. I have not met tangemere but have seen city of wells as she is based at a preserved line near where i live
Ahh lucky you - that must have been amazing to see!! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Simply brilliant and the music for that intro what is it it’s simply brilliant
Thanks so much mate, really glad you thought so! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
George
Thanks a lot George - ooh that's quite a list! I saw Olton at Waner Bros too - great to get to see her! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I liked the opening music, it set the tone.
Thanks mate, appreciate it! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Nice video sam. Also I love that you featured the 14xx😀
Thanks a lot mate! :D
Hey Sam, I was wondering if you use DCC or dc?
I use both! But generally speaking most of my videos show DC!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I saw Scotsman, Union of South Africa and duchess of Sutherland today at the NRM, nice vid mate 👍
Ooh that's fantastic!! Hope you had a fantastic day!! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Please can you tell me what the intro music is? Sounds like something that I heard in Fallout but can't tell if it was in a mod.
I think this one was DJ Quads fun time - it's a remix of an older song!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Great session Sam :)
People who complain about the large number of GWR locos inpreservation as opposed to other companies are just being igorent.
Other, The Master Cutler, Cornish Rivera Express, The Bristolian, The Brighton Bell, The Golden Arrow, Atlantic Coast Express... or even friegt specials such as The Condor or The Night Owl
Keep up the good work
Jon
PS fave today - Princess Elizabeth.
It would be cool to see double heading large freight engines for the next running session.
That would be cool! I'll have to get on to that for 2019! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I found a N scale lner no.1230 for 25 to 30 pounds should I buy it and it is a week till my birthday in a week.
Ooh that sounds very cool! I don't know much about those, but if they look good to you, then go for it! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
The hall my favorite steam loco
Ooh good choice - i love the halls too! :D
Happy new year,
Sam :)
Ooh, Sam, a bit cheeky to run mk1s with the lms compound there.....!
haha I know - typical of my railway really, haha!
Constanct QC.
haha thanks Ian! That is very true, and ooh is that so?? ;D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
If you can may you review the prussian t18
That sounds great! I'll definitely look into that! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Do you have the A4 Dwight D. Eisenhower
I don't sadly, though I wish I did! ;D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
That is ok since I found on eBay someone is selling four Bachmann limited edition ones
Hey Sam if you are going to do a double heading video , can you please do the LB&SCR E2 and E4 . Or the E2 and the H1
I sure can - I think that'd be awesome! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Sam, i have an idea for a series of running days: you have locos from different heritage lines, for example, a gcr day,a nvr day, an nnr day, and what have you..
Yeah that would be amazing - I did do that once before, and it was fun! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I do love southern locomotives (especially West Countrys and Battle of Britains)
Ooh me too - you just can't beat them!!! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I love steam locos!!!
Me too Tobin! :D
😄😅😆😗😘
You're not alone!
My favorite would be either the 28xx or the Princess Royal
Ahh excellent choice - I love those too! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
The Flying Scotsman Locomotive was named after the train not the other way around with the train originally being pulled by a J70 and later being pulled by a City Class although the Locomotive named after the train never actually pulled the train (which was painted GWR green). Thomas is the most well-known GWR Locomotive. I've seen them all, even driven a few although you forgot the trolley and I've also driven that
Again a good job Sam!
Thanks a lot Marco! :D
aww yu are the most amazing persn ever. My personal favourite is the A4 mallard
That's very kind of you Sam - really glad you liked Mallard! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains i mispelt you
Can you do this same thing but with amarican engines??
Great idea!! Though I don't have many!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
The funny thing about the southern railway is that the southern railroad in America also used a green and white color scheme with yellow lettering.
Ahh I wonder whether that was a coincidence or not?!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
New record, 50 seconds
haha 50 seconds?!
I have a 1466 too.But it is in GWR livery
Ahh fantastic - sounds pretty nice that one! :3
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I saw the Mallard in Aylesbury station in the late 60s, I was very disappointed with the amount of dents in the panels on the side of the loco. Made it look like really thin tin sheet.
That must have been quite saddening to see - I didn't know she was ever in poor condition like that!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hey Sam I love steam locomotives and my favourite is the flying scotsman
Thanks mate - ooh I love Scotsman too! :D
If you are going to do a double heading session, you should put on Gordon and Spencer and do something to make either of them jealous of being the front engine.
Ooh definitely - great idea that mate! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
