just a question: so in the last gen, the G920 was the xbox and the G29 was the ps, but in the newer generation, is the G923 the same name for ps and xbox?

The issue with the G920 Brake is inside the sping is a rubber block its very easy to take apart and remove this part and i have no clue why it was put init as without the ting works perfect

Yup . and not worth it . if you have the original its all the same . the trueforce tech isnt even available on hardly any games . save for entry lvl fanatec . ive had both of these Logitech wheels . they dont last long either . so if your a drifter . think twice . you'll break it in a few months ....

The resistance in the brake is provided by a rubber block dropped into the centre of the spring, it literally functions as a bump stop that you have to crush in order to get the full range of the pedal. They've likely used a softer rubber in the new one. On a side note, it is 'relatively' easy to remove the block in order to remove the resistance and make it feel the same as the accelerator pedal. You could also, in theory, 'adjust' it by cutting it shorter to add the resistance later in the pedal range. #KeepPlaying #PlayAdvanced XBox version please ;-)

people seem to like this more, cause its better haha

@@nateschiro4731 I did cut the rubber block in half. A little more pedal travel helped me a lot.
I’m kind of a fan of the hard brake with the G920. I do trucking and farming with it so it is very realistic to be honest

I've done farming for years (old and new tractors) and non of them are as hard to press as the brake pedal on my G920.
I could press until it felt like I was about to break something and my rig would bend and the brakes would only be reading about 70% of the potential braking force.
I tried increasing the sensitivity so 70% now reads as 100% but I didn't have fine enough control over breaking, it was too twitchy.
I opened up the brake assembly and removed the rubber block which creates this resistance once the brake is half way down.
Now the breaking is super easy (too easy in my opinion) but it probably mimics modern heavily assisted breaking more accurately.
Definitely an awful awful design.

Very good review thanks, It helps me. I was faced with deciding which wheel to buy G920 or G923 (xbox version). I have watched many videos and read many articles. The price difference was €50. I had the previous wheel basic thrustmaster for more than 6 years. I weighed the pros/cons and ended up going with the G923 - the main reason for me was the release year (hopefully it will be supported for many years) and maybe the thrustforce feature will be more supported in the future. The new LED string, the +/- button and the new rotate button were not my priority as I heard they are not fully supported by Xbox. First impression: the quality of the wheels is very good, without annoying noises from the wheels. I don't follow the led string while playing. The brake pedal is too hard. I watched videos on how to remove it according to the G920, but the rubber is no longer there - only the spring. So I replaced it with a spring from the clutch and it works great (I don't use the clutch now).
I don't have a wheel yet. I basically used your video as a review for the G923, and glad I did. Thanks, nice work.
I have the g29 and am happy with it cost me over £500 due to buying it through a catalogue had it 2yrs now quite happy with it it play ATS/ETS it's perfect for the sims

Thank you, Logitech do some awesome entry level wheels but if you're budget can be pushed higher I'd definitely recommend going for the Direct Drive wheel base as it gives a much better experience.

I just bought the g29 the other day..It is still yet to be shipped though..I'm excited..I dream about racing sim since late 90's..Now it is about to happen.
Worth noting that the "break point" connectors were also included on many Xbox controllers from the 360 and up so if you ever loose one you should be able to get ahold of another without too much hassle lol
I’d say if the brake pedal is stiff it’s because the spring is new and hasn’t been used/worn down, gotta break it in.

Just bought this wheel but the + and - button, lsb, rsb, 24 point selector won’t bind to any control on Forza 7, Forza horizon 4 and F1 2020 plus the Rev counter doesn’t work. Is that because those games don’t support the feature or because the wheel is damaged? Thanks in advance and love the videos!

2nd best video I've found about these wheels! Sad thing that logitech didn't add that red button on wheel in the past (for g29 xbox comp), because to me it would feel like pressing nitro in real racing car
is the g923 smaller ? saw the specs, they say its same diameter as g29/27, but in few videos side by side look smaller to me, it is?

both look good think i would like a new i quite like the rev counter plus with only having 1 leg the pedals still work great for me i thought it would be hard and i wouldn't be able to use it but i was wrong its so easy to use the pedals

I rely on handbrakes heavily in racing games. Wish they implement that into their new models
I just got my first wheel ever and it's the G920. I've been wondering what people do for the handbrake. What do you do? I've been assigning the right paddle shifter because I use the stick shifter.

My question is how did you manage to have the rev led lights to work on Xbox while racing. Mines only turn on when the wheel itself is turned on and calibrated and then never turns on when racing?
I was watching channel for long time and realised i want subbed. Would like the wheel to do touges mostly and replace my current mouse + keyboard setup. Hopefully i can beat my 5.25 time on akina downhill. #KeepPlaying #PlayAdvanced Also a friend is getting a fanatec so i really want to prove him you dont need anything special to race good. Also i wonder if i can beat him with mouse steering lol. Edit: forgot to add, i dont mind which version i get i would be greatfull for any as im on pc.

it baffles me in each review of the pedals you all press it with your hands and talk about its "hard" to press the brake why not press it with your foot you know like youl actually be doing.... wtf............ thats like reviewing shoes and putting them on your hands and saying they are too tight
can you do a video on how to get the g923 to work with dirt 4 peoject cars 2 i upgraded and half my games dont see the wheel is it worth the upgrade NO unless your drifting the updated motor drivers make it turn faster led rev counter works on assetta corsa but none of my other games dual clutch none of my games reconise this like i said not worth the upgrade

I already have the G920.. regardless of how many people on reddit saying it's not worth the upgrade, i couldn;t help myself and i did lol... honestly, not much regret.. yea the extra $$ sucks, but I appreciate all the subtle changes ... plus the brake on the G920... needs to be burned with fire lmao. Thank god Logitech was smart enough to fix that problem with the G923.. I really didn't want to have to open up my G920 and start pulling shit out of it.

@@matyasmatejka4242 I personally don't think it's worth spending the extra money on. If you're going to upgrade, I say go all the way and upgrade to Fanatec or some other DD style wheel. Otherwise, I'd just stay with your 920.

My G27 is old, It's time to upgrade and I'm happy they didn't try to reinvent it.
I have an xbox steering wheel but i’d also like to play some of my games on my ps5 with a wheel. Do i have to get another wheel for ps or is there a way to use xbox wheels with playstation?

awe man i wish i was able to enter in this giveaway, but im way late.
im still using my logitech driving force that i had gotten to play gran turismo for the ps2 years ago, i think i had gotten it in 2002 an it still works and i think that is amazing i just had to re-solder a joint where power plugs in.
playing dirt rally 2.0 was awesome using a wheel mined u almost 20 years old it felt great.
only down side is i cant get wheel to go in straight line its ever so slightly off to one or the other side so i can only play rally games with it since ur always turning its fine for that, but my f1/sports car games not so great to play i need upgrade. Nuremberg race track the long straight is no fun to go down when ur cant stay in best driving lane.
over all its a great wheel, only thing i can compare it to is remembering how fun it was using same wheel back then lmao cus its the only wheel iv ever owned lol.
tho i can say back in i think it was 2014 when i remembered i had a wheel and i took it out of hiding, i was so amazed it worked and so happy i didn't have to try and buy a wheel.
honestly and again with no experience with any other wheel than this one, i would 100% recommend it to anyone that wants a cheap entry lvl wheel so long as other wheels dont also have my issue with the straight line thingy, (i could mess with dead zone but i hate having that gap where the wheel does nothing when im trying to race, would probably solve that tho lol. )the wheel today only cost 20$ lol amazing haha. iv been looking at the g920 for years now. now there is a g923 i get to look at for years lmao. and maybe get one in a few years and give my kids this Logitech Driving Force over 20 years after it came out :)

The connecter on the wheel actually helps me to restart it from my pc instead of going to to back of my pc to restart the wheel.

For me the haptic isn't enough for me to cough up more $. Its supposed to be a beginner budget friendly wheel, but they could have at least changed up the looks. I like the rev gauge they added but maybe investing there time into incorporating an actual speedometer would make it worth it.

there use to be a clamp on the underside also, they should bring that back and the 6 shifter use to have a sequential gearing setting now it doesnt. So you could use it as a decent ok handbreak.
it will be my dads 40th birthday on the 2nd of may and i am saving up for either a g920 or g923 so he can learn tracks before he goes racing in his custom fia specced jaguar xkr. If you’re not a serious online gamer/sim racing or anything like that and just playing to have fun on a game like NASCAR Heat would it really make that much of a difference if you purchased the more expensive one? I’m a casual gamer (hour or two after work to chill out) but playing racing games with a controller is boring and want to buy a wheel, pedals, and shifter for games like I mentioned NASCAR, F1, Forza etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I think if you just want to have fun I'd probably just go with the 920 it just won't have that extra feedback or led
