Being from a dry, desert climate, the car is pretty rust free. This car still has the factory 18RC engine in it! Make sure your subscribed to the channel, there will be many more videos on this car as we try to get it back on the road! Stay tuned!

    Regardless of the condition, this car is a rare classic. The fact it's a Toyota, before they started making the Celica Fwd. These are the last Rwd legends, this car deserves to be restored cleaned up and the interior put back together.

    • @alphamaledriveshard
      @alphamaledriveshard ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Actually these were the 2nd to last Celicas that were RWD. The ones in the early 80s upto 1985 were rwd. I own a 1983 Toyota Celica Supra which has an inline 6 and RWD. It's a hoot to drive.

    It's in amazing condition for a 72 car that's sat in a junk yard for so long. My friend used to have a fastback version of this car and he took such good care of it and painted it black and semi customized it and alot of people thought it was a Mustang!! I've always liked this era of Toyota's and I'm hoping that you fully restore it.

    I suspect mine was in a wrecking yard as well for awhile. Have a drivers and rear seat. Will most likely use the driver as a passenger seat though and get a deep bucketseat. That's so cool seeing you do the starting process solving, will help me on my 75 gmc if I ever have an issue. Nice to always keep one carbureted vehicle around just incase. Are the flat lights still good? I think all the lights are pretty neat. I might remove the dividing bars on my bubble lights, in my head I think it'll look decent anyway. You should post vid to ta22 Celica fb group.

    • @Bawkr
      @Bawkr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah had to pull the trigger sometimes you have to move forward when you get a shot to. I see a lot of them still which is good means there may still be parts for awhile. I will be fabricating anything I can't find for it. Depending on what deals are out there I'm either going to put a Saab 9-3 engine into it because I will be able to buy a backup one as well for cheap or a 3SGE beams. My reservation on the beams is it's stock transmission comes from an overseas vehicle which makes it worth quite a lot but if there's a company that can adapt a domestic transmission to it then it's not a big deal, I could get a spare for it as well. The Saab 9-3 engine comes with a turbo and the block pistons are the same Opel GM engine that's in the Cobalt and Solstice.

Forcing a "start-up" likely did more harm than good. Be patient and put purpose behind your efforts. I hope you are well funded my friend. Best wishes in getting this really cool car sorted out.
