    Awesome video - short, to the point, and it shows all of what's involved. Seems very well done and efficient!! Going to reach out as I need some help with a windshield. Thanks for the info and engagement in the comment sections - very helpful.

    Great video . One question what happens if you don’t calibrate the windshield ?

    • @TexasGlassToolsLLC

      It can be off and not correctly read the lines.

    is there a way to install a new windshield without recalibrating it like not disconecting none of thr harness

    • @TexasGlassToolsLLC
      @TexasGlassToolsLLC  ปีที่แล้ว

      No every windshield with a camera must be recalibrated. It doesn’t matter if you unplug it or not that has nothing to do with it.

    I Had my windshield replaced in my 2019 Tacoma crewcab sr5. Does it make a difference if the installer didnt take out the plastic piece are the bottom of the windshield? Also the plastic piece that is on the outer part of the windshield. It lays flat but it looks like it has a bubble in it. I just had it installed today. Will the heat make it go down over time?

    • @TexasGlassToolsLLC
      @TexasGlassToolsLLC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that is a poor installation. They should have removed that in order to set the windshield correctly without rolling or sliding the urethane down. When they do this it can warp the cowling. But sometimes they just get warped from being in the sun. So a little bubble or more like a bow where it isn’t touching the windshield isn’t the end of the world.
      What’s also more important is that they used primer and covered any of there scratch marks. Take a flash light and look around the frame of the windshield. Use a tiny pick to lift the rubber on the top to see if they left bare metal or covered the scratches up.

      @@TexasGlassToolsLLC before they put in the windshield they pull the windshield and all of the old material. Use the gun with the black material and installed the new windshield. Plug everything back in that was unplugged from the inside. Do I have to re-calibated my truck?

      They have to use special software to recalibrate the windshield with the computer in the car, otherwise systems like lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, etc. will not work right.

    If the truck is lifted, can you just raise the cards to make the system calibrate

    • @TexasGlassToolsLLC
      @TexasGlassToolsLLC  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No you have 4 inches to play with. If it’s been lifted beyond that I would reccomend just leaving the system as is not recalibration and then turn it off and do not rely on it.

      @@TexasGlassToolsLLC I'm in Massachusetts. It's a catch 22 because the dealer said to change it and not calibrate and they would finess the cards and make it pass if I get any errors, but need someone to do the glass. But most places won't touch the glass if they won't calibrate it. I think I just found a shop that will do only the glass so I might have a chance
