This video was extremely helpful. I wanted to mention that I slid the plate in essentially upside down because there was a big metal frame in the way on my 2016 F150. Confirm which way you're going to do this so that you put the cage nuts on the lower mounting bracket correctly. This does contradict the video and instructions I got (Step12) but was able to get lower bracket in much easier and lining the bolts up wasn't difficult.
I ended up losing 3 of the 4 hardware inside the console during the inserting of the bracket process. Spent hours fishing with a magnet retrieving them. After all the frustration while i was tightening the side console bolts and ended up over tightening one side, breaking through the console mounting hole and snapping a bolt on the other.
I run my charging cables from the 12V port in the console. Any recommendations on where to make a hole to have them go to the drink holders? Two choices are (i think) flange for the safe or through factor tray. Thoughts? TY
Agree with the current availability. I just ordered on Amazon last week. Unfortunately, I'll be sending it back since it is about 12-1/4" long but my '23 F250's console is about 11". @@ScottJohnson-w7m
It's honesty not too bad. But I kind of regret it, but I like it. I won't be able to hide my laptop or big items in the center console anymore. Pulling the tray out to put stuff in is kinda more work. But I don't have to hear the tray side back and forth anymore.

I'm in the same boat. I put a similar style to this in my 23 f150 and the bottom of the console lid is so thick the safe lid stops 3 inches or so short of opening to a vertical position, really sucks.
I just tried to install this pos into my 2017 F250 Lariat. The center console doesn't lift, even when I take out the side bolts and try to use a pry bar. A huge waste of my time. Good thing it's from Amazon and I can return it. Can't say I'm going to be trusting of your instructionals in the future after this bloody shambles.

Your a lifesaver, those black and grey instructions were no help.

Metal to metal, you have to take off the back of the console and bolt from underneath

This safe doesn't block the charger! Since it only takes up half the console, you can still access the charger port !

I just ordered one on Amazon today. I'm doubting my decision because of difficulty in installing and lots of folks saying the locks are garbage.

I got mine from eBay about 10 days ago. I’m not a car guy at all, but installation went smooth.
How long is the lock on it? Want to get one and a better lock.
