Meepo Hurricane Electric Skateboard - Power, Power Power!

  • The Hurricane is the latest board from Meepo. But, it is Meepo's first 2-1 all terrain board. That said, this is an amazing creation from a manufacturer that is upping their game with every new board they produce. Capable of speeds north of 30 mph, this board is race ready. But it's also smooth and predictable so it is perfect for beginners too!
    The one drawback is it is quite heavy, like most all terrain boards. However, the huge battery, and subsequent range, is worth the weight. It's not a portable commuter board, but it is loads of fun and a comfortable long range cruiser.
    Overall, this board represents great value at it's price point versus competitors, even though it is Meepo's most expensive board ever. If you want fun, predictable performance without any sacrifice at an attractive price point, the Hurricane is it!

    Very powerful interesting board. Just a few things: I have been working with electrics in helicopters and airliners for many years. We call the cover for the cables of the motors on this board a "stocking" and they are only used for cosmetics. They offer very little physical protection and when slightly broken the come undone fast. Also water and sand enters and will regardless of grommets travel into the board. The other things are the slightly thick and boxy deck as well as a weight of 15,5 kilograms. But of course, comes with the big battery. Thanks

    Great review! Can't wait for mine to come in! Not here to tell anyone how they should ride, but it's generally safer to widen your stance and bend you knees a bit more. It especially helps if you ever have to bail off or if the wheels slip out while carving, It also gives you more control and less fatigue after some practice. Anyways safe riding! I came off my evolve gtr at 22mph due to a sudden breaking issue and broke both my arms instantly so always be cautious(:

    I am really looking forward to the performance test of this board. Given the fact that this board has p42A cells (one of the best battery cells for eskate) and that the new lingyi esc is configured to 70A, I expect this to fairly easily beat out almost every board on your list and have a pretty solid shot at topping the chart. Great video as always.

    Not trying trying condescending but dual king pins are for more buttery smoth turns it's supposed to simulate the feeling of a snowboard or surfboard. On typical push longboards if you want to bomb hills at high speeds you definitely want to switch to a single kingpin truck or tighten the crap out of the duals otherwise you get bad speed wobbles at like 30+ mph

    Anything over 20 mph is crazy fast. If you're gonna ride over 20mph consistently I'd recommend full protective gear, helmet, Elbow and knee and a full abrasion resistant jacket and pants. Coming off at 26 mph won't be fun. I typically ride at between 10 and 20 mph, and I can safely bail off at anything under 15 mph and I don't wear any protective gear. I actually practiced jumping off just to see how fast I could do it. After 15 mph I think I would fall but it would be a managable fall. Over 20 mph you're gonna bounce and tumble. Not good.

    • @MeepoElectricSkateboard
      @MeepoElectricSkateboard 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your feedback about the Meepo Hurricane top range. We appreciate it! We'd also like to explain why the top range we've reached while testing our board is not necessarily the top range you've reached while riding. This is because of the fact that so many different factors and elements have an influence on the max range (and max speed) of a board. For example: wheel size, wheel type (hard/soft), rider weight, riding mode, riding style, terrain, weather, and so on. It's important to keep all of this in mind when determining a top range or a max speed. More importantly though and for this exact reason, whenever we release a new board, we make sure to send it to many different TH-camrs and influencers who can produce their own unbiased reviews and report on their range and speed tests. We always encourage potential customers to watch these reviews and decide for themselves if this is the right board for them.

I have been a customer for 5 years, there ESC randomly stops working, causing extremely dangerous situations when you suddenly cant break! They used to be good with customer service, but after telling them about this issue they completely left me out to dry. The company has gotten too big it would seem, the days of dealing with a passionate skateboarder are gone. Completely profit driven with no support, and faulty dangerous boards. I have always recommended Meepo, but I will never buy from them again! Removing their sticker from my helmet as we speak, the only thing with their name on it that actually works.

    Battery is dead after less than 1500km put on it, Meepo with their lame ass 3 months parts warranty does not care (completely illegal in Europe by the way), trucks are weak, have broken many times (both kingpin and hanger) and ESC is dangerous, shutting down everything even brakes when battery is low : this board is definitely a joke, do not trust any of these sponsored reviews and buy any Meepo's product at your onw risk now that you've been warned 🤷‍♂
