      Hurricane carbon's battery is dead after less than 1500km put on it, Meepo with their lame ass 3 months parts warranty does not care (completely illegal in Europe by the way), trucks are weak, have broken many times (both kingpin and hanger) and ESC is dangerous, shutting down everything even brakes when battery is low : this board is definitely a joke, do not trust any of these sponsored reviews and buy any Meepo's product at your onw risk now that you've been warned 🤷‍♂ DISGUSTING 🤮

    Meepo did a great job, I'm a bit confused about the DKP trucks, I remember in one of the preview videos they did for this board had a super wide/thick RKP, Kieran made a point in the comments to say that DKP is bad. overall a great looking board though.

    Thumbs up for 69. That clip at the end of you slamming on the breaks is exactly why having strong brakes is so important. Nice inclusion. Meepo hit a sweet spot with this product. I was looking to upgrade from my WowGo 3 for something with pneumatic tubes and twice the range. Everything with similar range/specs came out a couple hundred/thousand dollars more than Meepo. Definitely will be looking forward to riding mine when it arrives.

    Correct me if I am wrong but a motor with larger stator will be potentially more powerful because it can take more amps. With the same motor amperage it will have the same torque as a motor with smaller stator. And as you said don't pay attention to what the motor wattage is because the overall power depends on how many amps the ESC can take from the battery. In this case, Hurricane is a max 3200 w board not 7000w and that is only with a fully charged battery.

  • @Why-I-Oughta
    @Why-I-Oughta 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    We need an eboard with an option of push assist, so that when you push once it will activate the motor and cruise for a while. That way you can still feel like you are skating conventionally, and it will be more convincing as a regular longboard!

    Awesome video man!! This board is beautiful! Only thing is in the video, you said it uses the same type of double kingpin trucks as Ownboard, But Ownboard has got rid of double kingpin trucks on their new Ownboard Zues board, and are using a new style of single kingpin trucks, which I personally really like. Ownboard does use the DKP Trucks on other boards. But thanks for the vlog man!

      I'm debating between the two still. One thing I don't like about the Zeus is the low ground clearance of the motors, especially if you have the bash guard as well, the Hurricane seems to be angles up more giving it more clearance. Probably not a big deal either way though I imagine.

DKPs are not the problem theyre a perfect choice for certain boards. but everything is designed for a purpose. DKP is meant to be on a slightly fater deck with a good concave nothing something that focuses on carving etc with mid to low top speed. meepo took dkp and put it on a narrow long stiff deck with a ling yi esc (harsh) and 35 mph. its just a simple design flaw!

    I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new WowGo Zeus compared to this Meepo Hurricane. Wish the 2WD Atkas would upgrade the battery and see what it would do compared to the Zeus and Hurricane.

    My hurricane won't charge, looks like alot of people are having this same problem, this is very frustrating and customer service hasn't been very responsive. They are sending out a charger, but I don't know if that's the problem and I don't know how long it will take to ship. Love this video tho!

    For double kingpin concerns, you could either vary durometers (super firm deckside, softer wheelside), or if really daring use cut PVC rings in lieu of bushings essentially forcing single kingpin

    Im kinda sad bcuz they are using lingyi esc for such an expensive board. I thought that they will use VESCs.

    • @danli9884
      @danli9884 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What are they going to use? Unity or what? They have qc problems. It isn't a problem if you have multiple diy board worth of vesc but if you plan to have a decent warranty a vesc can be more expensive than the 200-300 hundred the customer is paying for themselves.

    No flex is a deal breaker for me

    • @danli9884
      @danli9884 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Flex isn't the deal breaker for a street board it is the deal maker. Flex at 20-30 mile + means a small bump in the road and make you lose control. If you want a flex board I encourage you to look into mountain boards with foot straps attached or boards with 5045 motors with a low kv. I mean if you live in Geneva my comment is pretty worthless, but I am guessing you don't.

    • @kemckelv
      @kemckelv 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@danli9884 I disagree. I ride 30mph 5 days a week with a little flex and I love the control I have you must need to practice. Or you have too much flex.

      @@danli9884 man I ride up to 50 mph with a flex board, it is the best thing. It's the other way around. IF you hit a pothole at speed with a flexi deck, the pothole gets absorbed by the flex, if you have carbon deck it all goes to your feet and throws you off balance. If I was riding a carbon deck I would be already dead several times over. But there are flexi decks and then there are flexi decks. You want something that doesn't flex like crazy.

    @Daniel Kwan -
    Question: Is this a (relatively) unbiased review or a paid promotion?
    I very much appreciate your reviews and recommend them often... but this one (and your Hurricane pre-review) seems very different.
    You skip over a number of things that you would generally touch upon... and the things you skip over just happen to be the things that it seems likely that you'd have something relatively negative (not paid-promotion-worthy) to say.
    Again... I really appreciate your reviews... but if this is, indeed, a paid promotion... it would be a kind gesture to let your viewers know... and if it's not, I really wonder why it feels so much like one... why you skipped over precisely those key considerations that might not help Hurricane sales.
    Regardless... Thanks for your good work. Your vids are a gift to the esk8 community. Keep it up.

      Sigh… What did I skip? I get this kind of response anytime I really like a product. 🙄 Not a paid video. Same deal as any other board: using referral discount code earns me a small commission. That’s disclosed both in the video and video description.
